The problem with having the valve clearances set to minimum is that the service intervals will now be shorter as these type of valve set ups usually close with mileage and not open up as with others.I have no intention of having mine done as I can happily live with a very slight 15-20 second tick after a hot start. My mate who is a tech at my dealership has listened to mine and assured me that absolutely nothing is wrong with it or anything is likely to go wrong with it. Iv'e known him for over 40 years and he's worked at my dealership for nearly 50 years so I think I can trust him!! Glad you're happy with yours now, I have a '23 plate black one but I can't stop drooling over the red one in their window !! Fantastic bike whatever the colour.
Thank you for your comment. Glad yours is good however to be honest mine was a lot louder than a tick it was more like a loud knock. I will say my blue bike was absolutely fine and needed no work at all it just had the normal Suzuki tick which my red one now has. I do agree with the service intervals as your mechanic has stated. They are awsome bike and the black is stunning ride safe
Hi mate, it was me who you referred to about changing the oil to see if it helps, I've quit FB now so best I reply here! I changed it at 3700 miles (I don't believe in manufacturers interval of 7500), I used Castrol Power 1 semi synth and a genuine Suzuki filter. It has reduced the rattle substantially, but not completely. Although it could be because I'm hyper sensitive in listening out for it. Bike's been to Belgium and back since the oil change, so plenty of opportunity to get hot! Dealer 1st year service is due in march, I'll probably just wait until then to flag it up, unless it gets noisier again. You're right, the 7 year warranty does inspire confidence, and it is an absolutely superb bike, so much so that I've exceeded my PCP mileage of 4k within 7 months! I've done 4800 miles on the original tyres, still got at least 1500 left on the back, and I've not had a problem with handling, only "feel". They'll be replaced with Michelins when the rear wears out though. Keep up the good work, Regards Alex.
Hi Alex thank you for your comments glad your loving the bike hopefully you won't get stung too much for the mileage. Your right the bikes are amazing ride safe
Good video mate, sound quality bang on, credit to you 👍🏻 Too many 'profiting' from us all to drop down fuel prices for us 🙄 Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing. 😃
I have the 2022 model I got back in June and this has become my absolute favorite bike. I just installed some Pirelli Angel GT's on it and cant wait to take it out again!
Hi mate just been watching your latest Video, good to know the bike is running smooth my blue Gsxs gt hs now covered 35,000Ks with no issues with the engine ,after all the K5 engine has been in production for a long time ,early 2,000 i think , stay safe my friend 😊 Frankie from Oz
Just Done an Oil Change Silkoline 10w40 XP Maybe it is just in My Head but everything Feels Smoother gearbox as well. Seems to me that Suzuki Dealers will Do the Valve Check Adjustments as They won't want to Replace an Engine I assume 7 year warranty means 7 years of Dealer Service? What are the Valve Check Intervals On the GT ?
@jefflambert8603 hi you are right after the first service my gearbox felt clunky but after putting fully synthetic oil in it has gone back to super smooth. I'm not sure of the service intervals for the valves maybe someone else could comment please.Ride dafe
@@midlifecrisis22 you’re welcome 😁 I just refreshed my SP-1 and set the valves to middle or slightly more clearance as shim type close up with mileage. Screw type tappers open up and get noisy. Triumph have just extended valve adjustment mileages by doing the same by opening up the clearances at build. With oil, get the right viscosity for where you live and the spec that the manufacturer states
Noticed mine had a warm start rattle after 550kms, called the dealer they put me onto the mechanic and they said it was " normal ", they will check it at the 1000km service. Has there been any actual failures on these engines due to the rattle or is this just a feature ?
Thanks for your comment. As far as I am aware there has not been any failures it is just a rattle however we do have a 7 year warranty so I would not worry to much. Ride safe
@midlifecrisis22 unfortunately in Oz it's only 3 years, but I think enough to work out if a long time issue, mind not expecting it to last as well as my '99 VFR with 85,000miles which I sold after 19 years and still running like a Swiss watch to a mate...

@@midlifecrisis22I believe it's 15k for the valve service
Why minimum clearance when they close up with mileage?
Full synthetic is not necessarily’thinner’, ie 10w-40 can be had in semi or full.
Thanks for your comment always grateful for more information
