    I think we spoke briefly before but anyway I have to tell you I just got a VR50 thing is awesome, I have a 150 already for my 10ft GSB but that 50 I threw on my 7ft Triumph surf rod. dude such a great back bay combo . Btw great video nice blues

      Yea the VR50 I had was an early model I think they fixed the roller bearing issue which caused my line to wrap loosely.
      I recently sold my VR50 and I’ve been using the Visser No. 4. in it’s place.

    A friend of mine missed a couple of bluefish because he buried the hook on a big cut bait, I told him you never had them because the hook was buried and they won't let go only when your about to pull them out the water that's when they'll let go. He was upset that they came off but caught some. Some fish feel a tug and right away let go like the barracuda but some are stubborn and fight.

    Nice vid. Question. That lamiglas your using is the GSB81MS? I'm looking to purchase either that model or the GSB91LS. I like throwing lite jigs 3/8 sometimes up to 1oz. Lures up to 2oz. I have a stradic 4000 with 20lb braid. How do you like yours? Do you think either model will work well for me? Thanks!

      @LesFishingMoreCatching  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I like mine a lot for the North Shore and back bays. I also have no problem using it on an open beach. Both will work perfect for that reel or my reel. I also have the 91MS and I have a larger reel paired with that for the South Shore and stuff for throwing heavier lures.

      Are you using the van staal be 50. Thinking about purchasing it too but for stripers.

    • @LesFishingMoreCatching
      @LesFishingMoreCatching  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I’m using the VR50. I have caught plenty of bass and different fish on it. It’s great for 7’ - 8-1/2’ foot rods. Check out my newer videos to see it in action on stripers.

    Nice video. Ive been really contemplating a Van Staal. Is the VR 50 still your favorite reel?

    • @LesFishingMoreCatching
      @LesFishingMoreCatching  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like Shimano reels also but the VR50 is fully sealed and a great price. I do like it a lot but the Shimano reels are smoother for finesse fishing.

    • @LesFishingMoreCatching
      @LesFishingMoreCatching  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the Van Staal VR50. I did a unboxing video on it about a year ago. You can find that in my previous videos.

    Treat the fish better, get them back into the water faster, it’s a great sport and resource
