Loved fishing both shores...went to college in Greenvale and spent so many days fishing out at Rocky Point and Oyster Bay and Huntington...that was when gas was cheap and beer was cheap...71'-81'....just feel in love with the Gold Coast and hit the south beaches tons...
James finally so great to see your video kind of sense of normalcy now I work 28 days straight in the city up until last week got a couple of days off tried everywhere nothing finally two days ago I went onto the North Shore and slammed then most had about 15 fish in 1/2 hour not too big though maybe in the 20 inch range but it was fun to break the skunk and very peaceful after being so stressed out in the city thank God I came out of it OK so good to see your videos thank you for posting them
That's great news! Glad you finally got a break and caught some fish! These past few months have been crazy from this virus, i hope it's finally over soon. Thanks for dropping in and stay safe out there, tight lines!
damn bro I needed to see this. Ya have me motivated to get out there and catch em. I hope I get lucky around the oysterbay/bayville and sea cliff area. Cheers
Hey I'm watching all your videos they pretty cool and I would love to go out there and do some porgy and bass fishing can you please send me a good location where I could go in long island...I've been trying here in queens Rockaway beach but there's nothing...can you please share any of this location I will appreciate...
I hope to do some freshwater fishing soon. I'm just busy playing in the salt right now lol. Try a weedless senko, they work so well for largemouth. Tight lines and good luck!
What times do you recommend for strippers? I keep getting confusing. 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide or are you heading out any random time?
Hey James I noticed I’ve been doing better at the start of the incoming tide on the north shore do you find that way I don’t follow the tide as much as I should but I noticed the last two times out it was incoming just before high and I did well you find that true
Stripers have been in cold mode. The cold snap really hurt the bite. bays, creeks and inlets are the way to go. Ocean has been really crappy lately. Good to see you again on the stripes man. We might not see decent surf action till late may. Do you use a bit of wire for blues or heavy mono? Tight lines 🤞🏼
Yeah it finally looks like warmer weather is coming, can't wait to catch them in the surf again. When i know blues are definitely around i switch to my heavier mono leaders, either 60lb or 80lb test. Tight lines and stay safe!
James Schlick Outdoors yo I usually fish the beaches on oyster bay north shore that are resident only and I just walk in without paying for parking....are they cracking down on this?

Where do u like to go? And can’t find those fishaholics anywhere
J&H tackle in Oakdale is the only place that has those fishaholic shads. You can order them off their website also.
Hey where do you usually fish on LI? Been looking for some good freshwater and saltwater spots. Love your vids btw!
I never realized how good the northport bay/harbor area might be damn

Hey james, how late into June can I catch stripers on the north shore?
The big fish are only starting to come out of the rivers now so there should be striper action all June, at least that's what I'm hoping for lol
