I have an iPad mini 5 2019 which I don't use much the past 2 years , with Retroarch and with a gamesir g8 plus it has become my favourite way to play all the PSP ,PS1,N64,SEGA SATURN and below systems ,it's truly an amazing experience.
I am struggle rather to get a Mini 5, or 7. My scenario is basically what you are doing, playing old games up to NDS. does the Mini 5 runs smooth those games? or should at least get the 6?
@@didy3615 I have iPad mini 6 because of the form factor/screen size for retro gaming. I also use my m4 13” Pro, but the Mini 6 works great with my g8+ controller. The Mini handles RetroArch very well. iOS runs up to N64 & PSX without the need to sideload emulators.
@@didy3615 if you want it strictly for IOS emulation , iPad mini 5 will play all those systems at max FPS with no problem, if you want it for native iOS games from the app store ofcource 6 and 7 will be better

Personally any android tablet with a decent snapdragon chip will out do any Ipad in terms how many games and software you have access to. I own a M1 Ipad Air and its just a overpriced youtube machine now.

The issue is that u can't find a 4:3 or a 3:2 decent screen on those cheaper tablets unless it's a really old one ,Samsung still sells some devices with TFT screens which is crazy
Same here with me. I had the iPad mini 5th generation and it was useless to me because of closed ecosystem and I couldn't side load apps so it was just sitting collecting dust. I sold it later and got Mi pad 6 from Xiaomi and it was best decision now I rarely use my laptop when I am out I just bring the MI pad with me and it does all of the work. Also I stream games from my gaming PC using parsec it just work amazing. Also I have side loaded a hell lot of emulators as well as modded apps like revanced TH-cam, etc which I couldn't do on iPad
And half of those snapdragon tablets are those you can’t get normally in NA or the overpriced Samsung Tab series. Even the iPad Pro 2017 without the M1 chip over performs most mobile games and does decent emulation.
An Android has always WON with the Emulators, but it's so AWESOME that you can emulate even an Apple iphone devices too and gotta say that tablet with controllers looks interesting like a controller with a BIG SCREEN! 😮
When I get the money, I am definitely getting this iPad Mini compared to the latest iPad. the 512GB is definitely good for my gaming "needs" but I also love the small form factor that this tablet has for portability especially when I draw on the go.
Another solid review from ETA Prime! So my thoughts are I can live without and OLED screen but to not offer a tablet with 120hz in 2024 is just poor. I know it's classic Apple but if they even offered oled 120hz for €100 more it would be nice to have the option. I know I could go bigger but that's not what I want. So I use an Air 5 with the M1 chip and it struggles in endgame Warframe content. The clip you showed was from the very beginning of the game while playing solo. Try full squad Steel Path and you will feel different
Outdated design & no bypass charging is a dealbreaker for me if i want to game for a long period of time. The size & performance is awesome, and base 128 gb is a welcome upgrade tho.
there is, but it's only sold in China at the moment. Lenovo sells a Legion gaming tablet with SD8G3 (third generation of the Y700, the previous two used SD8+G1 and SD870) but it's intended for the Chinese market and thus doesn't include Google Play services. You'd have to tweak with it a bit.

i have a lenovo legion y700 2023 and would love a comparison between the two, or the y700 2024 model. im interested to see the performance difference and the different software features between the two. i'd have to imagine the lenovo wins on multitasking with it's windowed applications and pc mode

I still have the iPad mini 6, been playing fallout 76 primarily on Xbox cloud which I was curious to see if it works as long as you have gamepass and finally played black ops 6 not (cod mobile)online through gamepass on my iPad mini, it works, but there is some lag issues. iPad Pro would probably do a bit better. Still use my Xbox, but it’s easier to just use my iPad mini when tv is being used and using Xbox 8bit controller to play most games.

Why? Unless they come with active cooling, which they never do, performance has been capped since the SD 8 Gen 2. The Gen 3 and Elite are not going to offer any real-world performance gains, they just look nice in benchmarks.
Most Games 60 fps limit is while on android. That's why I haven't upgrade ny kids galaxy tabs s8+ They dont need it ,Plays minecraft n roblox smoothly n they have sd cards 1 tb storage for less than 80$

their os is great, if you ignore the self imposed limitations, which make it almost unusable:-( seriously a freed ios would be much better than android.

8GB RAM just doesent cut it these days! Im looking for a new tablet and Android is out of the question, I wish I could get a good Linux tablet, it looks as though I will need to get a high end iPad or some sort of Windows tablet.
8GB is a lot on iOS
on mobile devices, 8gb is enough. I can play literally every game for mobile on my s24 with 8gb of ram with 0 issues
These kind of devices are not suitable for gaming because they dont have good cooling capabilities. Powerful chip without cooling is useless

I know someone who is gaming on a Huawei Matepad with 80.000 points.
My Sister has an Ipad Pro M1 512GB Cellular, it has 1.2000.000 points, but it costed 1600€. You see the problem?

Emulation on the iPad is complete booty. Also putting things on an iPad is an absolute nightmare.
