  • Having a cat or kitten is going to be an experience that you won’t likely forget. Both you and your cat(s) are going to learn a lot from each other. Some of it will be through good experiences, and some of it will be through more difficult or stressful experiences.

    Great video! I have a very mellow 10-year-old cat and recently rescued a kitten who's now almost 3 months old. It is absolutely insane having a kitten in the studio apartment! He's adorable but never stops playing with EVERYTHING.

      That's quite a big age difference! How are they doing together? Hahahaha yes, kittens in a studio is quite the experience but a lot of fun too!

    What stage of life are you cats in?

      Resident cat is 3,5 years and “new” (almost a year with us) cat is 8,5. Resident cat always wants to take newer cats seat, bed, corner of sofa etc. they don’t fight, but younger cat often slaps the older without any reason. How can I stop that?

    Very informative video!!! I have a very chill 2yo cat and recently adopted a 10mo one. They tolerate each other well but the kitty keeps scratching the litter box and doesn’t cover her poo. Not sure if its something normal? I also want to trim her nails and brush her teeth but she doesn’t let me pick her up. Is there a way to make her feel more comfortable with me? I have her for abt 3-4w.

      Hi! Good question! I wrote a very in-depth article about that here: monsieurtn.com/cat-wont-let-me-pet-or-touch/
      Try the methods I outlined there! Take it slow and consistent!

    Question: Does my kitten need my apartment catified the moment it arrives or can i start putting in cat trees after the one year mark?

    • @monsieurtn
      @monsieurtn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks for your comment!
      Preferably getting your apartment ready before or soon after the kitten arrives allows the kitten to quickly get adapted in its environment.
      But you could take a wait and see approach since kittens will find everything to be entertaining in their first couple of weeks! However, if you find that they're getting into places that they should be and causing general problems - then some more catification might be in order!
      Most likely you'll be getting them all kinds of stuff after they arrive, just because you want to see their reaction and having fun around the room :)!

    Do cats have a teenager period where their behavior changes dramatically? My russian blue girl is almost 8 mos and I swear as soon as she hit 7 mos she started meowing a lot more, she’s dashing out the door every time I come home, she’s no longer afraid of jumping on counters and tables (which I’ve deterred her from previously), and she seems a lot more moody in general 😂 she’s spayed and everything so I really don’t know what’s gotten into her. Do you think she might start to calm down by the time she’s 12 mos old? 😂

    • @monsieurtn
      @monsieurtn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahhahah yes you'll find that cats will have slight but noticeable changes in their behaviors from time to time! Sometimes it's a case of boredom and sometimes it's just random spurts of energy that they need to expend.
      In this case, it IS probably more of a teenager phase where she wants to explore the places where she hasn't gotten a chance to when she was young. Maybe add some perches around the area to allow her to do so without bothering you! But yeah, in general, Russian Blue will mellow out a lot past the 12 month mark.

      @@monsieurtn she has so many cat trees and window perches that my apt is basically one giant cat cave 😂 I’m gonna hold out hope that she mellows out soon lol
