Even without a medal he will still be my favourite skater ever. I wish Yuzu can understand that we don't love him because of the titles he won, but because his skating is a sincere and precious gift that has touched our hearts deeply.

The way he makes everything look so natural and effortless... the jumps, when other skaters do them you can see how difficult they are, how heavy they land. When Yuzuru does them he's light as a feather, so elegant.

Imagine downgrading the achievements of another skater and calling their medal 'bought' just because you like someone else more. Yuzuru and Nathan don't even have beef with each other, it's literally always their fans. Can you not just state your preference without insulting someone? Is that really so hard to do on the internet?
@@amandapanda2142 AMEN. I'm so tired of reading insults adressed to Yuzu below Nathan's videos and insults towards Nathan below Yuzu's videos. Especially when the two of them hugged and joked and had fun together at the gala, yet only a small percentage of fans are taking this into account (even if there's plenty of pictures and video content that shows that there's nothing bad going on between the two of them) because everyone prefers to project their own rage and bitterness on someone else, thus depicting Yuzu and Nathan's rivalry as something dark and painful.

Show me ONE skater who has the guts to attempt a sequence of "double cross rolls - back counter turn - triple Axel - twizzle - illusion sit spin - step sequence - combo spin" in a short program KNOWING that if you mess up that Axel, the sit spin is automatically gone too, because the entire rest of the program is already occupied by the step sequence and the final spin with no recovery space in between.
That means, he is 100% sure that he lands that Axel with enough speed to go into the sit spin and NOT let those 4 points slip. He is absolutely insane for this. This enormous risk alone deserves a 10.00 in transitions if successful. Let alone the ridiculous total of only 6 crossovers.

The current scoring system unfortunately does not reflect the true difficulty of Yuzu's programs. Other skaters may be able to jump more quads than him, but they are still a long way from equaling his mastery in all the other components of the sport.

In World's 2022, a skater (I think was Vincent Zhou? Or Yuma, not 100% sure) attempted an Ina Bauer-triple axel combo just like how Yuzu does it.... and failed. That aline shows how difficult entries into 3A can be, and is why A LOT of skaters have a long prep time to jump a 3A, which Hanyu doesn't do... he always does something else and then jumps a 3A out of nowhere. No other skater I have seen does that in competition.
@@cheeyaya Only Kevin Aymoz 🇫🇷 has landed the 3A with the same "out of nowhere" back-counter entry as Hanyu in competition, and even then he is not consistent with it. Hanyu's trixels are in a league of their own.
Actually this is my trauma and it was very hard to watch for me. After watching it live during the Olympics i didn't dare to watch it again. Today i found the courage to watch it and once again i admired Yuzuru.He is so strong and Rondo is a masterpiece that doesn't deserve this bullying

The program with full of step sq. and difficult transitions in and out, no long boring cross over before jump. So shame that the score can't reflect his greatness enough.

The Olympics will never more see anyone stunning as Yuzuru Hanyu. Rondo is a masterpiece that any other can't skate. The FS world and history must lie at his feet forever.

Yuzuru Hanyu doesn’t play the “what if?” game but just for grins, he doesn’t hit the hole in the ice and goes uninjured into the free. We’d have had a very different podium. Oh well, he didn’t get a medal but no one can take away what otherwise was a historic and inspiring showing at these games . My word, he was wonderful. For me, medals aside, he ran away with these games. Who were those other guys again? Never mind; doesn’t matter
yall might beat him in scores, but yall willl never beat him in his knowledge on how to express his emotions, elegance, passion through skating on the ice. he is unbeatable in this game.

Yuzuru’s last Olympics performances will be the last few true figure skating, artistry built on athletic prowess.
We will never see anything like this in competition, not in a long time perhaps. Figure Skating has been turning out to be crossovers/flailing and jumps.

北京のロンカプは、見ているだけの自分が辛くなってしまってなかなかちゃんと見返すことができません。でも、穴で跳べなかった4S以外の全てが全日本より更に洗練されて美しく実行されていること、全日本のロンカプを何度も見てるからわかります。羽生くん素晴らしいロンカプを北京で見せてくれてありがとう。

競技会ではたった2回しか演じられなかったプログラム。
北京五輪後、東京ドームでの単独公演中、ノーミスの美しいロンドカプリチオーソを見られたことは、私の人生の幸運な出来事でした。

私にとってこれは本当のFigure Skateの演技だと思います。時を忘れて息を呑むような演技で、夢の中で一緒に滑っているような感覚さえ体験できる。観ていて沢山のイマジネーションが湧いてきて、何度観ても飽きません。観れば観るほど味が出るみたいな(笑)。終わったばかりなのに、もう次のプログラムを楽しみに待ってます (もちろん足首の完治が先に！)
これリアルタイムで見ていた荒川さんが穴にはまった瞬間「え、ウソでしょ!?溝にはまりましたね」って言ってて、あの一瞬に何が起きたかわかる人には分かるんだなと思った。
その後アクシデントを引きずらず演技に集中できていたのは流石でした！👏

Respect to him that he still managed to put himself together got a decent program after he messed up his very first jump realizing that he probably won’t even medal anymore. The look on his face after he finished was so telling

全体的に見たら全て流れる様に美しくジャンプが一回転でも、
全く気にならず見入ってしまいました。
やはり、羽生選手の演技は別格だなと改めて思いました。
本当に美しい演技でした。
人の心を動かすのはメダルの有無ではないのだと、再生回数やコメント数(しかも様々な言語で)が物語っていますね。

He is figure skating and figure skating is him.
Climbing to the top is hard and is worthy of praises and where most leave to maintain this status, but to fall (in terms of scores, not going to get into the judging here) and get back up and climb again is worthy of admiration. The numerous heartbreak and burden he would receive in every competition and to not leave and continue to always challenge himself makes me speechless. His love for this sport and the passion that he has is something to be admired. I'm not his fan because of the titles and medals he won, I follow him because he's skating brings comfort, musicality and his drive is something I wish to emulate in my life. In terms of scores it might seem he has fallen, but sometimes sport is not all about scores. If the audience feels moved and captivated by a performance and is willing to stand behind you then haven't you won? Fly Yuzuru.
Even his scores should not fall. Unfair judges always underscore him. Some judges even give Nathan 30 points more than him in the FS in 2018 Olympics. He has been underscored for at least 6 years. Fairness never exists for Yuzuru Hanyu since 2016.
氷の穴め。４Sは不運だったけど全体的に全日本よりグレードUPしててすばらしかった。この作品ほんと大好き。すべての音を拾っていてこれぞフィギュアスケートって感じ。いやフィギュアスケート超えて羽生劇場だよ。ゆづくんしか出来ないよ。清塚さんのピアノ編曲も天才。

There’s certain difficulty in skating with a quiet music. You can’t just have grand gestures bc it wouldn’t match with the sound, but also you dont want to have a boring performance. And Yuzuru truly mastered his craft he’s able to balance his technique with whatever music.
I don't know how this technicalities do their scoring. But he is the only figure skater I am so interested on watching. He is so pleasant to watch. You will feel serenity just by watching him.

What should be noted here is the athlete's ability to overcome a major mistake at the beginning and skillfully perform difficult techniques with great beauty and power until the very end. People must recognize this incredible ability to maintain one's mental fortitude and accomplish the task even after a fatal accident.
He may be unlucky here because of the hole which made him popped his first jump..

5 months after the Olympic, I finally have the courage to rewatch this clip. I still feel pity and angry for Yuzu. The short programme was beautiful and Yuzu was so in form. Without the hole, the destiny would definitely be different. 4S jump can get at least 1x point which will affect the overall score for SP & the psychological condition for FP. So the competition started at an unfair point. I just wonder why there is no rink checking after each section? I still cannot move on…… but I am glad that he is relieved and become a pro skater. No measure of score/medal are enough for you, you are beyond!

I can feel the fire on Yuzu after he popped on the first jump because of the hole in the ice. The way he did the rest of the program is just excellent! His following jumps just became hunger and his steps became stronger. What a way to comeback stronger.

初っ端で失敗することで、気持ちの糸が切れてもおかしくはないが、そこをきちんとこらえて最後まで仕上げるのは並大抵ではない。さすがだよな。
全日本よりも更に繊細に磨きのかかった、硝子細工のようなロンカプ…⛸️🌌…新しい羽生結弦の真骨頂が見れました……✨✨終わったとき本当に暖かい幸せな気持ちになりました。ずっと一人で練習して、不安の中……北京まで来てくれた。ずっとずっと、できるかどうかも分からない4Aをやってる中で、清塚さんとの光のようなロンカプを、ここまでの作品にしてくれた……私にとっては宝物です。
東京ドーム公演GIFTで、この北京のやり直しを見守りました。すごい勇気のいることで、見ているこっちは本当にハラハラ。衆人環視のなか、大切な一度きりのドーム公演で五輪仕様のプログラムを、前半最後のプログラムとして、数曲滑った後に披露するなんて、本当に羽生結弦以外だれができるのだろうと思うような信じられない話でした。そしてノーミス、凄かった。羽生くん自身は、イメージを大切にしていて失敗の演技は見返さないようだから、二度と五輪のこの演技を見ることは無いのかもしれないね。でも私はこの、五輪のロンカプも大好きなんです。当時はあの４Sの瞬間から頭が真っ白になった私だった。でも時を経て見直せば、あの４Sの瞬間を除けば、最高の演技ではないですか！外野の私は頭が真っ白になったというのに、集中力に欠けることなく、最後まで、指先まで神経の行き届いた、美しい演技を見せてくれた羽生くん。並の選手には到底無理なことです。この４T３Tなんてもう、これ以上美しいジャンプは存在しないんじゃないかとまで思っています。プロになってからもその精神はひとつも変わっていないんですよね。だからみんなが、羽生くんの演技を見たくなる。今でも世界一のスケーターです！

I didn't know what people were talking about when I watched other videos. But the Japanese "supporters" really didn't start applauding until the cameras were on them. That breaks my heart so much. Yuzu you were beautiful.
No joke. I love this version better than Jnats and 24h TV. The intensity, that absolute beauty of an effortless combination, the arm details, the difficult 3A landing, I could go on and on forever.
even with that popped salchow, i believe that he deserves more and higher pcs + tes..... yuzu is the one and only skater who can do that difficult program with so much elegance and smoothness. truly the greatest of all time! he knows that he already achieved everything that he could and just mainly focused in landing/ratifying a quad axel 💗 truly happy that he did certified it! yuzu you're such a gem to the sport!

Wszyscy oczekiwali trzeciego złota i kiedy przez tę dziurę w lodzie nie wykonał pierwszego skoku wiadomo było że złota nie będzie. Ile trzeba siły , motywacji i opanowania żeby w sekundę po nieudanym skoku dalszą część programu wykonać bezbłędnie i w tym jedynym dla Yuzu💖 stylu.

北京五輪後はなかなか見られずにいたのですが、最近ようやく見返すことができるようになりました。改めて見ると、とてもとても美しい演技ですね。完璧な演技の時の羽生くんも素敵ですが、そうでないときの羽生くんには儚い美しさを感じます。北京まで競技を続けてくれたからこそ出会えたロンカプの演技に感謝です。
I won't say "if only" because fate is fate but I want to see this program being skated with a non-injured GOAT (aka Yuzuru Hanyu) again, with no holes on the ice :( But what makes it so fantastic? He missed the jump but performed so flawlessly after it that people don't even notice or remember the pop. Yuzuru, you deserve the world, but the world doesn't deserve you. Huge charisma and perfect tecnique. Humble, honest, talented, persistent, charitable (is that a word? lol). You work hard and you're not afraid to tell us you worked hard. We will always be with you, Yuzuru!

Many people in this comment section said how amazing or incomparable to anyone Yuzu is and will ever be, but I wanted to point out something else. The fact that people who don’t know figure skating can’t even see the popped Sal is the ultimate proof of how perfect this short program is, so we’ll constructed that unless you know, you don’t he’s going for a jump.
