While the transmission is out it would be nice to put a oil pan in that’s not dented... one of the biggest killers of these 3000gt is dented oil pans
it just so happens that every person with spun rod bearings has a dent oil pan

Yo!! You should've changed the wires too especially the rear ones!!! why the hell would you go through all that and only change the plugs???

What an engine design! No space what so ever. I like that someone actually put a 1000hp to the wheels 4G63 engine on one of these which made it lighter and improved power to weight distribution. Overall still love these 3k GTO's.

I just wish the electronics were not so fragile on a DSM esp the computers capacitor issues. But love how clean it is coming out .

Sand out the paint on the lettering of the manifold! Give it the polish look!
Yeah! It would have been so much better if the lettering was sanded back to bare aluminum before the clear coat!
Stock you don't have to remove the entire intake plenum. Only needs to be moved to the side to access the rear plugs. Aftermarket intercooler pipes, looks you do. CA and all those emissions pipes 😳

Evan why would you not change the leads while you have ripped it down, I am just curious as the plugs and leads are in such a hard to get to place sometimes prevention is better. The intake came out well!

For tuning I would go with Jester's Chrome ECU, it's plug and play and uses ECUFlash, same as tuning an EVO. That's what I have in my 3000gt vr4. You just need the Chrome V2 software. Really easy to tune and you can add launch control and 2 step.
how hard is it to add the launch control and 2 step? im thinking of getting the chrome ecu for my dr650 turbos
Hype Tempo it's super easy! You have to enable the chrome mods/ then hit the check box for launch control and anti lag. You can change RPM ECT. If lits like changing numbers in a spreadsheet document but everything is labeled. If you need more help I can up load a video on my channel when you get the chrome setup.
can tuning shops tune the chrome ecu to bigger turbos and bigger injectors and fuel pump too?
Hype Tempo I'd ask if they tuned any Mitsubishi EVOs before on ECU Flash, the chrome ECU uses ECU Flash to tune. You can always look up ECU Flash on TH-cam to see what it looks like. It's pretty simple to change numbers and settings
It is coming together really nicely. However, the car looks like it may need a 60K/120K Service tune up. The spark plugs look like they have never been changed and the lower intake plenum looks really dirty.
