Fun fact - the first vehicle I ever rented was previous gen Elantra! Was flying through DFW for a job interview and the company rented me something “intermediate” and it was this or an EcoSport…easy choice
When my car got crashed into while parked, I had a rental for a month and they gave me an ecosport. I envy you 😂😂
I had an Elantra rental as well and absolutely loved it. Was surprisingly well made, drove really nicely with some great low end torque, and really spacious interior for it's size.

I rented a 2024 non hybrid and drove from Florida to New York and it was a very nice car that got around 44mpg on the highway and I averaged 87mph. Only filled up on gas 2 1/2 times. They definitely worked on the sound insulation it’s a very quiet car. Stock sound system is excellent. Suspension and steering is smooth. The car is significant longer and wider compared to the last gen and fit 4 people comfortably, I like how the front seats can be set back far and you can fully extend and rest your legs if you take a rest on a roadtrip. But it has several bummers to me.
It is significantly slower compared to the Corolla/Civic.
No radar cruise control/No electronic parking brake. The 2020 Corollas have that.. Once you have it you don’t want to go back. It’s nice to have in heavy traffic/long road trips.
Cup holders that don’t fit most cups. Only 2 upfront and 2 in the rear seat, The Corolla has 8 cup holders.
The seats are uncomfortable, your butt and back will hurt within 4 hours and your right elbow as a driver has no arm rest. The center console sits too far back.

My mid range trim has the bigger cup holders, electronic parking brake and radar cruise and it’s sooooo nice. Definitely agree once you start using radar cruise especially on road trips there is no going back
Never thought I would have to say this but I appreciate the little bit of plastic above the driver's screen, goes a long way to making it feel nicer than "tablet slapped on the dash" look of all the other Hyundai refreshed interiors 😂

Sat in one of these recently and was blown away by how nice it was. For most people who can't even name what makes their Audi better than an Elantra other than the badge, this is all the car most people need. And it's super efficient. Civic definitely felt better to handle though and that's my main gripe against it, but it certainly does better than all its other hybrid competitors otherwise.
I really like the setup for the dash/infotainment on this gen elantra. Really makes the EN a nice prospect.

It's amazing how much Hyundai's interiors have improved. Wouldn't say I'm a massive fan of the exterior design, but it still seems like a fairly proper car
Even the Enterprise rental’s that are pretty much base are fine. The car is comfortable and well equipped for the price I can’t lie
I love chasing the MPG numbers in my 21 Accord cheapo base model. Best I've gotten on a 60 mph road is 48 MPG!

The car has to be locked in order for the auto trunk feature where you stand next to it to work. it will work if the car is on or off, just has to be locked
13:07 It's crazy how much wheel and tire packages affect MPGs. Just look at Honda base model vs Sport trims. Usually go up 2" in wheel size and lose around 5 MPG combined. Not worth it.

When do you get your hands on the new Elantra N?
Really wish they could've gone with a clamshell hood--the front clip lines are kind of a mess as-is--but that would've been a VERY expensive thing to do for this type of car. Otherwise, in a saner world, this and other cars like it--Corolla hybrid, Civic hybrid--would be the best-selling cars in the country! My brother has one of these--a '22 Blue trim--and I have a '20 Sonata hybrid Blue; I'm getting ~49mpg on my own calculation over the last 25k miles.
My short review: Elantra is better looking than sonata just because geometrical shape design. But if y’all looking to get either one, I recommend higher trim sonata just cuz it’s got 360 cam, HUD, blind spot cam, and rev cam. Elantra has on,y rev (rear view) cam, and blind spot cam. Elantra hybrid limited is for those who desperately need a car and don’t care about techs, and sonata is for those who can be patient enough to save some and buy it.
For the past year I've gamified mpg on my V6 RXL, and gone from 19.2 mpg to 25 currently. After a while it becomes reflexive to drive smoooooooooooth. I'm now a passenger-free limo driver.
I own the hyundai elantra 2023 sel its pretty great honestly and it's very reliable by the way I think k the trunk button is on the side of the key

@DudeBoss-gn5pq its very reliable. I've had it for a year now, and I haven't even had to do any fixes all I did was replace the headlight light bulb because I wanted them LED, the rest of the car is honestly is great condition I woukd recommend this vehicle
Nice video. The blue at $26,000 is still a very decent price for a 50mpg hybrid. Maybe once interest rates come down to sane level it will be worth a look. Hyandai is offering a 1.99APR right now for WELL qualified buyers😂
the mileage for the half tank is what i get on a full tank for my 2012 mit outlander 😭
My Ioniq 6 has the same gen instrumentation / infotainment. I’d love to have that more traditional gauge setup as an available theme on my EV.

I’d gravitate toward the N Line as a trade off between practical (hybrid) and hair on fire (N).
I had a 2023 n line and traded back to a 2021 Veloster n. The DCT in the n line is just too sluggish and really poor in day to day traffic. Always seemed confused and would over rev on gear shifts due to clutch slip

Either your friend is lying about 67mpg or you simply don't know how to drive (heavy foot, abrupt acceleration, abrupt braking) - why on such clear roads can you manage only 41.7mpg at the end?

I think having the A/C on for a hybrid is better. I am not sure if Hyundai uses a similar system, but in Toyota and Ford's hybrid, the AC has to be on to keep the battery cool. Otherwise, the MPG and lifespan of the battery decreases.

my 2202 elantra ultimate + tech two tone is almost at 35000km now. No issues so far, very fuel efficient.
You can get up to 50~mpg if you cruise at 80-90 km/hr. really nice.
it's got adequate power ( i wish i had 50-100 more hp) but it shines in corners and twisted roads.
one thing is that the road noise does get loud beryond 100 km/hr. high speed noise damp isn't great.

The interior is really spacious feeling. Feels just as roomy or more than Camary or Accord because of how they pushed things out giving sense of room.

@13:30 as a former driving instructor, that underhand inside wheel grip bothers me. You crash or some fool hits you and you're punching yourself in the face, with the airbag explosion.

Interesting that they went with the DCT rather than the regular plain autos they put in their other hybrids.
Hyundai/Kia don't have a good track record with their DCTs right now lol. Hoping this one doesn't suffer the same fate.

@@24GirlPanda They use hybrid motor aggressively to keep clutches safe. Don't even have reverse gear. Their hybrid DCTs seem OK, unlike non-hybrid

Limited and limited hybrid comes with blind spot cameras on both sides.

Yes, hybrid limited trim have ambient lightning strip. It's only for the front across your A/C vents, but there is no light strip on your side doors.
@@PhuGamer yeah I wish there was some. Ioniq 6 limited had it. It would’ve given more luxury feel in the front and back. I’m really considering Hyundai if Toyota doesn’t work out in my area’s dealership. The standard 360 cam, blind spot cam, lane trace assist, and others are all standard and I just love it so much unlike the Toyotas. My area actually has black exterior with coffee interior and bro that shit looks luxurious af
Rear passengers get no air-vents but they can plug in one of those USB fans. Probably gonna hurt the mpg though.
