  • Looking to build a bird and trout knife? Well look no further! I really like how this knife turned out and and hope yall like it too. The blade steel is 1084 and the handle is made out of wenge with white and black liners. The loveless fasteners have a 316 stainless core with 303 brass nuts and were custom fabricated for this knife. Anyways I really hope yall enjoy this build! If you're looking to get into the knife making game please make sure to look though my uploads for step by step tutorials geared towards the new maker. Cheers!

    Most beatiful patterns on a leather sheath!!
    If you do the same half-moon shape near he stitching on the back, this sheath will look way better! Just that on the back side.nothing else! Also, the finish on the side, where the different straps of leather join together if it's more rounded and blackened, looks way better!! A thicker leather, would also upgrade both the function and the longevity of the sheath (especially on 4 inch blade knives and bigger!
    I own one (uknown maker) that is made as I described and is by far my most beatuful sheath and the best to use, because of the thiker and better quality leather. It also smells better than any leather I had on any sheath.

    Thanks for the great content you have the best knife making videos on TH-cam.. I'm just getting started attempting to make knives and I had a question about the pins for handles. I'm going try to use pins first before I even attempt to use corby fasteners. Is it ok to use 3/16 pins or are 1/8 inch pins better? I feel like 3/16 would be stronger but everyone I see online uses 1/8 inch.

    Quick question that is probably dumb.. How long do the blades on portaband seem to hold up before replacing? I don't feel I get too many knives out of one blade.

    • @RedBeardOps
      @RedBeardOps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I run them till they break... probably isn't the safest thing to do. I haven't counted, but they last a decent amount of time!
