He's not talking about being able to sing in different styles. He's talking about how there are some girls who can do songs using soprano-y head voice mostly and then can also sing lower belty songs (range/voice, not style). For guys it isn't as distinct. Like even if you're singing R+B or Soul or Pop you're still probably singing notes in the Tenor range. So for both guys and girls you're supposed to show songs in different styles but for girls there's the added distinction sometimes.

It's certainly one of the hardest careers--if you're willing to go through years of struggle for this dream, then of course I believe in you!...just prepare for the long road ahead--i'm just starting to prepare for musical theatre too and i'm trying too lmao c:
