    Guys, it's really not as easy as it sounds. Cut her some slack! She looks young and she was really game.

    She's singing just fine. There's a lot of character stuff when it turns into talk-singing but you can tell she has a decent voice and has had some training.

    her voice is fine. but she's not committing at all. like he's giving her great advice and she's just half assing through it. especially that last note.

    I think she really did good and Seth is really cool to work with. I wonder if she got the part? Either way I think she was so much more prepared after this class.

    As a professional performer or you wanting to be one, being sick is not an excuse! Especially in the professional world.

    • @aud6976
      @aud6976 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Being sick is no excuse? Singing while having a cold, and ending up with vocal cord nodules, putting you out of the game for a couple of months if you're lucky. Stay safe, and don't sing when your voice is sick.

    • @SeanMiguelPerez
      @SeanMiguelPerez 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No it's not because if you're sick and you're off for a period of time, good luck getting your spot back because your understudy is better than you. #byegirl
      if you get nodules on your vocal *FOLDS* as a result of singing with a cold, then you have incorrect technique and you need to go get lessons.

    • @SeanMiguelPerez
      @SeanMiguelPerez 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      This is not bullying - it's reality.
      if you're sick, then be sick, but don't expect your role to be there when you get back - especially if your understudy is better than you.
      Plenty of performers still go on stage while they're sick whether it be there's no understudy to cover your track, there's not enough people in the ensemble to cover their tracks or for fear that their spot will be taken by the understudy.

      *_That’s basically like saying: “If you lose your voice... you still have to sing! No excuse!”. Actually, it depends on what type of illness you have most of the time, so yes... you are kinda correct because YOU could lose your role._*

      That’s like telling a marathon runner to carry on after pulling a hamstring. I sincerely hope you think different after 7 years.

      Not if this is what she wants to do for a living. Holy crap I thought I would learn from this but she can't even handle the things she should already be doing and I don't go to the fancy school she goes to

      @@Eddie4518 - When they do these masterclasses, I wish they would give the kid at least a little time to absorb the directions before they have to start off again. 😁I have never been in theatre so this is a shock to me (an audience).

    When she holds that final note it's really painful...very flat.

  • @sugarhoneyicedtea123

    She's fine, she's young and still has a lot to learn but as soon as Seth gives her a new critique she forgets the one before that. It bothers me when kids get to work with AMAZING coaches, or any coach for that matter and they don't give it a thousand percent much less a hundred. These classes aren't cheap and if you have the chance to learn from the best you should soak up every ounce of time that you have with them. Their word is worth more than gold in the business.

      You are a dumb fuck. He was throwing many things at her, those kinds of things take time to soak in.

      She probably had a hard time concentrating because of the camera and the audience.

    a lovely young person, I'm sure, but she's completely dense. I'm sure it's partly because she's in front of her peers. There is great advice being given, but if she can't get into a more forgiving headspace then she's not going anywhere.

  • @hannahp7252
    @hannahp7252 8 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    She goes flat so much. 😣 there are so many more people who could've made
    so much more use out of this masterclass.
