Kerry was the genius but his wife was doing laundry when she heard him play it. She pushed him to present it to the band. Thank you Mrs. Livgren.

I met Kerry in the grocery store last week. Very humble guy. It was a honor to meet the legend.

Kansas band is great band . I like the album ( left overture and point no return ) . I was in school in that time back in the day 1976. I’m always listening day in or day out with 8 truck and cassette back in the day . I like carry on my way wardson . If I heard that song oh man im so happy other than that the (dust in the. Wind) . Until now I’m still listening to the group Kansas . I’m getting old but this group I never been old.

From the first time I listened to this song, it became my favorite song of all time. Every note, every word, became part of my soul. The funny part is that I didn't even speak English at the time. When I was able to understand the lyrics, I knew it belonged in my soul.

Would have liked to hear from the songwriter the origins of the lyrics, a young man usually isn't thinking about dying...

Watch the whole movie. Kerry was reading Native American poetry at the time.

The best vocals Kansas ever had was John Elephante. Too bad you guys are too arrogant to mention Elephante. I'll never look at Kansas without John.

Elefante was not part of the band until 1981. I am not downplaying his singing, but he has no part in the conversation about the origins of a song that was recorded in 1977.

He wasn't the best, and I love Fight Fire With Fire and Vinyl Confessions. He was the best for that short period. But Steve's voice was and always will be the best. John's other band, Mastadon, was awesome. tho.
