Legan Hecaeda is my first ever character in this mod. I just love her role as a ruthless, yet compassionate military commander. I will never forget how she avenged her adoptive father against the slaver.
Should have pointed our that Aeschraes has a permanent and universal -100 modifier called "killed the world." Fitting, and makes his playthrough even harder.
“Second Coming of Jesus and Charlemagne” With how much all of the various “barbarian” groups fawn over Cenware, that seems accurate 😂 A few other things, I think Dexios might be inspired by a man called Sextus Pompeius, the youngest son of Pompey Magnus (of Roman Civil War fame), who conquered Sardinia, Corsica and Sicily and dressed in a striking blue cloak and kinda acted like he was blessed by Neptune (Roman god of the sea). This is just my own crack theory though. And if I might give a recommendation, Honrog is an interesting playthrough. It’s ruled by the grandnephew (and only living relative) of the last undisputed Aautokratir, Anesimasios. While his great uncle had the epithet of Kindblood, he has the epithet of Frostblood. And pretty much his entire family was murdered by the guy who rules the Bloodied Throne so the goal is to basically go kill that guy.
There is a vassal from the LXI Legion, his name is Tetradia, by his traits he seems to be a evil guy, his first and second son died in the bloody senate massacre by Axiaothea, but the cool thing is that he starts with the last living member of Axiaothea dynasty as a ward. A 5 year old pureblooded magi that he can shape into a killing machine. Unfortunately he will not be you heir, so if you want to play as him you have to land him and switch characters.
also his daughter died at the Frodbrokna, so you can roleplay that Tetradia is trying to make a magi strong enough to be able to kill the Lord of Ashes.
Couple other cool characters to start a game with: The perhaps best Dead Magic wielder in the game is a count in Kemsar, east of the the former capital. Since there is no dominant power in the area, he can snowball really hard, and he usually starts with like 14 spells in his book already. And he has a cool monicker "the Accursed". Also, guy's a lunatic. In the jungle of Damota, there is a two-counties count of a Wardenite heresy, who gets a special intro text that states him and his buddies went down there to crusade the entirety of the Mogowai faith, meaning its them against everyone else. Everyone in the area hates him, even other Wardenites dislike his heresy, but he's got good troops, resources, and can kind of do his thing, building a new Wardenite empire. In the Shattered Isles, there are three counts/countesses right next to each other who each have unique starting texts. One is a giant pirate, one is an evil cultist and the third, I don't know. Something about Living Magic and flagellation. Fair warning though: The small island penalties to these holdings can make holding them quite meh. There is a count in the southern Agionist holdings who is a powerful magi and the last living practitioner of the Hubarist faith. He has a special event where he can revive this ancient empire of Magi judges. Fairly difficult with the Orders and Daddy Sarradon knocking on your door, though. In northern Aironoi, there are three brothers who've got claims on each other's territories, and one of them is a capable user of Mixed Magic.
Favourite Character is Cois, “Chosen of the Purest” bro is the ultimate underdog and I just love how his personality literally changes when you take power for yourself.
Of all the total overhaul mods, this mod has likely the most innovative and talented dev team. They have went full on crazy with amount of features their mod has. To point of making entire new UIs and stats. Pretty cool.
You should check out the eu4 Anbennar total conversion mod. Very similar to this fantasy total conversion but in eu4. Rich deep law, new map, magic systems. Arguably the most ambitious eu4 mod by a mile. More inspired by DoD then anything but other than that its very original and extremely deserving of a law video. Wouldn't be surprised if it does well just like your Godherja video given that the community buzz around it has been increasingly growing (the paradox devs even did a dev clash in it).
Another start that might be interesting is Belisarios “Frostblood” who is actually pretty close to Esterax Varixigad (if we believe that Esterax is the offspring of Anesimasios and Axiaothea, then possibly an Alabama moment if they WERE related, but ig it’s fun to believe 😅) Anyway, Belisarios is the last living member of House Drakaxiad if you want to claim Aironoi under a famous house. There's also one living member in Varixion (Axiaothea’s house) by the name of Axiotheos. However, he is unlanded (unfortunately😔). He is also the last living member of his house and the hostage/student of Tetradia of Mechais (a powerful mage/spymaster serving Legan Hecaeda). Been loving these Godherja vids! Another day another banger! Which characters would you say have the most flavor/unique content? It might be a cool video to show the different like, unique kingdoms/empires or religions that can be formed only by specific characters. Like how a lot of Aversarians can reform the empire, but the Black Sun can do whatever unique thing he can do.
@@Soul_Tomato Cois was my first and he has probably (imho) the coolest line of events but you REALLY need to have a good grasp on CK3 and play a little gamey to beat Cenware, and you have to beat him like 3 times
Once you realize possession is a thing, cenware becomes trivial 👌. You just steal all his money, and have him send you his kid as a hostage, it's awesome.
One of my favorite paths to take is to start as Aeschraes, start a family and have kids as him, then have his descendants basically try and do everything they can to fix the damages of Aeschraes; At least partially restore the empire, reform the Aversarian religion and culture to move away from the evilness, and eventually fight back against the invasions from the fog. Part of what I love about the mod is there are so many potential stories you can create within the godherja world
Nicanoneus is 8 years older than Cenware...which is kind of strange considering the dynamic he represents. Like he never measured up and never will but continues to try to make his dead father proud with his feud and yet to Cenware he is basically a nobody that equates to a minor speed bump he had in the past.
I totally get this take but I wouldn’t say a nobody. He’s the only person who has defeated Cenware in a major battle. The ONLY one. When you’re fighting against Ghengis Charlemagne that’s a big deal. And, out of all the starts, Nicanoneus is one of the few who actually can beat Cenware pretty early if you are smart and can use magic to your advantage. Plus cool helmet = cool guy.
Do you think you could explain how magic works in this game I've tried to understand it which is difficult since there are like 20 elements and what i assume to be wizard power levels
If you are a bit more experienced with the game would really recommend Narses. Was the hardest thing I've tried but it was really satisfying finally beating cenware and then of course beating him again which was harder than I would have thought.
It would be nice to play this without it crashing every few minutes like it has been recently. According to the Discord its apparently bad code that they will patch out in the next update too.
I started to play as world breaker conquering his empire back from one province. He died in his 148 on stroke but his dynasty endures. His dynasty turned into divine marriage enjoyers where they marry each other to keep magic blood strong. Few generations letter descendant of world breaker saved world before mist invasion 100K warriors strong. Dude was strongest mage alive and he nuked mist army leader to death. Saving world in the proces. Thou it was not without cost all northern lands are forever split by the fog. Now world breaker dynasty never can unite whole northern lands under their rule. Well at least I think because I don't know if fog can be removed once tit will appear in the province.

I tried to play as the Black Sun, tried to get some prestige for CBs, conquered a de jure duchy, then he got infirm and died not soon later. Why is this a recomended start, apart from the cool armour?
Infirm comes from vanilla CK3 harm settings. I’d turn those off and try again. Also he’s recommended because he has a lot of story progression. You could try Rene the Black Bastard for a little easier first time.
@@Soul_Tomato Thanks, so I guess I should turn off vanilla events before playing? Also, I tried again and I just got really unlucky for my first game, because he got said infirm event in his 50s
