I’ve noticed a certain trend in modern fiction that can either make you very amused or is downright unsettling. Eventually , no matter how powerful, the humans of these settings almost always end up killing their own gods and fucking over the planet in some fundamental way. Dragon Age, The Book of Swords, Lords of the Fallen, etc: all of them have in their histories a point in time when man rebelled against the divine, and was punished for it even after their victory. Honestly nice to hear someone with a positive take on that. You’d be surprised (maybe) at the negativity that’s been spouted from that community in these comments.
What I really appreciate is that they changed the map enough for the allusions to earth history to remain as just allusions rather than straight up copying the real world the way some fictional settings end up doing.
So i started a save before knowing any lore, picked an aversarian start in the islands, when i saw cenware hordes getting closer and closer and conquering everyone, i went full intrigue and murdered him, exploding his empire into many smaller realms. Unknowingly i follow the cruel route, making my aversarian ancestors proud. The decades that followed were of growth and consolidation, the empire of the pure is closer and closer to being reborn.
This mod just reads like someone was overly attached to the word "ae" and letter "A" and just...ran with it. It's one of the big reasons I have trouble understanding Godherja (even though I love the concept and quality). So many long, unnecessarily overcomplicated name everywhere, and like 75% of them involve the dreaded "ae ae ae". Kinda ridiculous at times. But still, thank you for this video. It is excellent, and helped me understand the basic themes of this mod's lore at least.
The Aversarians were heavily inspired by the Union nobility from the First Law trilogy and Valyrians from ASOIAF from what I understand. So not a bad read really.
Ugh, now i want a book series. Well done on the vid. I will say my only complaint is that as someone who uses headphones, your voices volume fluctuates often in the vid. I suspect this is only really noticeable for someone like me using noise cancelling headphones of a pretty decent quality. Thanks for the overview.
This was really awesome. I just want to say I wish "Lore Creators" would add more mystery into there Lore. When you have all the business with Gods and creation. If you just put down some ancient ruins with insane technology, but zero idea what became of them, it adds a lot more depth, and it's fun to speculate. I don't maybe it's just me.
I would love videos going over specific character lore and decisions they can make in game. One of my favorite characters and campaigns is Cois so I would love to see a video on him or any other interesting character. An example of going over in game decisions could be the major one where he beats cenware, where he becomes his subject, or beats him infuriating cenware and then loses and gets killed. That quicker because he dies. I don’t know if these would even be videos you’d want to make, but I’d be interested in them.

Unfortunately, I have to say that interest you stoked in me died when I scoured the map, and discovered the god-dang Dutch are on Aeras too
You cannot escape them.
What I really appreciate is that they changed the map enough for the allusions to earth history to remain as just allusions rather than straight up copying the real world the way some fictional settings end up doing.
Yeah it feels like it deviates enough without feeling outside the realm of possibility
When i first downloaded this mod i thought to myself: "you know its gonna be good when the Lore document starts at _the beginning of time_ "
Hahah my thoughts exactly
Great video, love seeing little known mods like this with absurd amounts of time and care dedicated to them!!
Glad to help. Hope you check it out if you haven’t already!
It's not necessarily "little known".... it's on the first (or second?) page of most subscribed CK3 mods...
CK3 modding do be hitting harder than I had expected
Literally insane tbh. The amount of great overhaul mods is frankly absurd
Mods so in depth, you need a docuseries to know who the hell is declaring war on you and why.
Basically haha
Holy moly, im totally gonna play a lichking on an impossible mission to save the world from the unstoppable fog!
Best of luck!
Did they updated it? Last time I play, i cant play as lich(have the lich trait)
@@irfaalwan3590 that is still INW
Happens with any major lore. Look Elden Ring, hell, at history even. People love naming things similarly. But thank you!
Thank you for enlightening me to this mods existence, this is sick as shit.
Have fun!
I love how the main assumption of this setting is "99% of characters are not just assholes, but cartoon villains, and everything is evil"
The Aversarians were heavily inspired by the Union nobility from the First Law trilogy and Valyrians from ASOIAF from what I understand. So not a bad read really.
I’d totally read a book series set in this world!
Same
After hearing the the lore was written by someone who wrote lore for TNO I knew that this was gonna be good
Glad you thought so
Fun fact: The creator of Godherja is the same person behind an iconic HOI4 mod, The New Order: Last Days of Europe.
Best CK3 mod out there
It’s got my favorite team behind it for sure.
The fog falls over all
This Jay guy really loves his fucked worlds and Black suns 💀
Sounds very fun, I'll probably play it later
Please do!
Just started getting into the mod didnt know about the lore primer i should read that
Highly recommend. Worth the time for sure.
I need books on this, the lore is so good
Honestly there’s probably enough of it
Nah, Cois “Chosen of the Purest” will reforge the Empire and save everybody, don’t you worry.
He is a very nice boy
Ugh, now i want a book series. Well done on the vid. I will say my only complaint is that as someone who uses headphones, your voices volume fluctuates often in the vid. I suspect this is only really noticeable for someone like me using noise cancelling headphones of a pretty decent quality. Thanks for the overview.
Thank you. Yeah I plan on investing in a new mic sometime this year. I had like 2k subs when I made this. I never expected it to blow up like it did.
More!!!!! Loved it.
Hahah I will work on more. Don’t worry
It’s not a bad idea at all! I’ll add it to my pile haha.
The magical duels ending with the entire audience dying seems to happen all the time.
Crazy magi gonna do crazy magi stuff
Who the f*ck gonna be watching those damn things at this point? Just seems like an elaborate way to commit suicide...
Can't watch this right now, definitely saving to my watch later tho
Happy to hear!
I'd love to play a D&D campaign set in this world.
Oh my god this would make a perfect table top setting. Honestly not a bad move for licensing it out and making some mula for the team.
Just letting you know in case the feedback is useful. I would ABSOLUTELY watch more lore videos on Godherja
Hahaha I have a script already in draft for the next one don’t worru
Nice video! Also love the mod.
Thanks!
