    I know this video is “older” but just know in 2022 it’s still helping ppl!! This was the exact review I needed thank you! You covered all the basis without it feeling rushed and without it feeling long winded. Great review!

    It’s a beast of a gimbal for a relatively small price in a small package. After using it only for a few hours I already was completely in love with it.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ed, I couldn't agree more. I think right now this may still be the most underrated gimbal on the market. Appreciate you sharing you experience!

  • @houseofintent
    @houseofintent 5 ปีที่แล้ว +129

    Why were all your shots in slow motion? We need real time footage to see if there are micro jitters and other imperfects.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      Someone else mentioned this. That makes sense. I’ll incorporate more with the next gimbal review. Appreciate the feedback.

    • @rgsauve
      @rgsauve 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's exactly what I came on here to say. Need real time footage. Slow motion does nothing for me. The rest of the review is great though.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Exactly. Slow motion hides the jittery imperfection. I can use my Sony a7r3 camera without gimbal at 120fps and slow it down to 240fps with optical flow software and it looks just as good without spending several hundred dollars on gimbal.

    • @meriredetripsandclicks3153
      @meriredetripsandclicks3153 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with the real time motion request. In the meanwhile, you can play the video at twice the speed in TH-cam if you want.

    • @meriredetripsandclicks3153
      @meriredetripsandclicks3153 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, no ibis no slowmo would be better to see the imperfections

    This gimbal is the reason why I am going to start NOW creating more content for my channel. When I had to do B-rolls I would use the gopro because of the really good image stabilization. But now, a new age started, now, thanks to this amazing product I, and you can step up your quality of videos to the very next level!

    What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the new Zhiyun Weebill-S helpful. Did you like it? I wasn’t sure what to expect from this gimbal because it’s smaller than others I’ve had, but the performance was outstanding!
    NOTE: got some feedback from viewers. I should have show more real-time footage to show that I didn’t experience microjitters. I almost exclusively use gimbal footage at 50% speed, but other people do not. I will incorporate into future reviews.
    Would this work for your setup? If you have questions about a particular camera+lens combo, ask me below. Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I see a problem when trying to remotely control Sony cameras through any gimbal.
    - If one uses a cable connection (PC remote) the SteadyShot function will disappear.
    - If one uses a wireless connection (smartphone remote) the eye/face AF function will disappear.

    Yeah-but…. I’m learning how to use my new Weebill S gimbal but having a frustrating time with PANNING! 1- is it normal, during panning, that as I horizontally turn the handle of the Weebill, the camera LAGS behind slightly? 2- I’m getting a rhythmic motion where the resultant video LAGS, then CATCHES UP in the direction of the pan, then LAGS, then CATCHES UP. I am turning the handle on a steady and slow rate (to the right for example). Quite frustrating.

    I purchased this particular gimbal using a Canon t7i camera. I'm having a problem connecting the cable from the camera to the gimbal. The t7i uses a Micro USB port and the Weebill-S appears to use a USB-C port?
    The cables provided don't seem to provide a proper one. Have you noticed this problem?

    I would want this gimbal, and with two young kids I could see a lot of use out of it. Following them around, at their level as they run around and play together, or as they learn to ride bikes etc.
    I'm not really using my M50 for anything professional yet, mostly just a hobby. Current setup is the m50 of course, the kit lens, recently I got the viltrox adaptor so I can use the 18-55mm kit lens from my EOS 20D, and the 75-300mm lens I got for the 20D. I also inherited a 500mm Seimar lens from my mother in laws dad, and I have a cheap tasco telescope that i can mount my m50 on.
    Eventually I want to get a better telescope that's capable of tracking objects in the sky. Not only would it be fun to explore the night sky in detail, but its really cool when I can share it with people. I have made a new channel with that idea in mind but it doesn't have much there yet.

    Can you say whether or not the gimbal can control the ISO/Aperture/Shutter on the Sony A7iii? If so, can you control those settings while the wireless image transmitter is plugged in to the HDMI?

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tech Gear Talk I have the AirCross 2 gimbal. Once I plug the USB cable into my gimbal from the camera, the HDMI to my external monitor goes black. I think it’s a common issue with the A7iii where you can’t use the USB and HDMI ports at the same time. If you manage to get it to work with the transmitter, please let me know.

      Hi. I don’t have real data to answer this. I only used the original very briefly and with a lot of other gimbals in between. it’s very difficult to compare without using them at the same time. I will say that I was happy with it. I do almost exclusively use my gimbal footage at 50% but I totally know what you’re saying about 100%

    Love my weebill S. I also have the transmission module and have a Sony ZV-E10 mounted. Have you had any luck with the Weebill S (either through direct connection to the gimbal or through transmission module) to control any sony camera functions? So far I have been unsuccessful in getting control over any camera functions. Just to be able to use the red shutter button would be nice.

    With the ronin sc the biggest lenses I have on my m50 is a sigma 16mm will it balance well and does have any restrictions like hitting the back with any titling and adjusting with the long heavy 16mm sigma lenses. Also would you agree the build of the weebill isn’t as durable as the ronin sc ??

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will work and balance. You'll need a cage ( th-cam.com/video/KESjvc4z4nA/w-d-xo.html ) or a riser plate so that the lens doesn't hit the quick release plate. No restrictions.
      I have no issues with the build quality of the WBS. I haven't seen the SC in a while, it is very well built for sure (but overkill for the M50 in my opinion)

  • @xNox72
    @xNox72 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it possible, maybe using specific settings, to use a gimbal to record a smoother walking footage without making it look too unnatural or cinematic like?
    What I have in mind is typically exploring a place holding a camera, you want to remove as many micro jitters as possible but still have it look rather natural with slight bumps when you're walking etc.
    Using a non IBIS camera + non OSS lens, could a gimbal achieve this or is there any other kind of gear more suited for this use case?

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a little hard to answer because "natural with slight bumps" could mean different things. I think it will work perfectly with the setup you're describing (no IBIS or OSS)

    Thank you for the review. Would you pick this over the Ronin SC as your first gimbal and why? Not sure if you mentioned this before but does this gimbal have active track? Also, have you tried the zoom and focus control on this one? Is it any better than the Ronin SC?

    • @TechGearTalk

      I like the handling better on this one, but I like the app better on the SC. I don't believe this has active track. I did not use the zoom and focus because that is not a feature I ever use (I'm really shaky when holding the gimbal in one hand 😂)
      I have seen it used and it is very smooth from what I can tell.

    This really looks like it could meet my criteria, but do you ever run into the limitations of the rotation of the tilt and/or roll axes? It seems like the Moza AirCross 2 has the upper hand there since it's 360° for each axis, but unfortunately that gimbal is so much bigger. 😒
    I want a gimbal that is super light and portable for my a6400. Because I am a hobbyist interested in filming my kids and doing small video projects, ideally I just want all of my gear to fit easily into one backpack.
    It looked to me like your horizon was off in some of those clips at the end. 🤔

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not feel limited by the rotation in any real shooting situation. It's very possible that with messing around with it so much on a shoot, switching cameras and lenses, there were times when I didn't autotune or re-balance it well. Which clips had a horizon tilt?

    I'm not sure if you have these problems I have... I've tried like hell but been unable to keep mine from wobbling ever so slightly on roll axis. I've balanced it PERFECTLY. I have a light camera, a6400. I increased my dead zone. I also turned the roll motor up to maximum strength (only thing that helped). It's still noticeable to me. It also ALWAYS likes to drift to the left on the roll / CCW. It sets a couple degrees off all the time. I level the roll axis and a little while later it's back to a few degrees off. I love the gimbal but this is super annoying. My little EVO gimbal for my gopro is the best gimbal I have but don't have the functionality of this one, otherwise I'd have bought a larger EVO instead of this weebil s
