I totally agree with you that Submarine and Aircraft carrier have different role and no one can replace other one. If India want to be blue water navy then we need at least 3-4 aircraft carriers and 4-6 LHDs plus 12-18 nuclear submarines. Although Pakistan navy is not a threat today but they are trying to build with help of China, considering 10 years of Pakistani navy from now, we must plan and work before they poses threat to us.
Even if the navy cannot afford a 65k ton aircraft they should atleast go for another 45k ton carrier like vikrant Cochin shipyard already said they can make a similar carrier like Vikrant in 7 years and that would be a good option to have 3 carriers operation at all times plus after that if our economy by the time the 3rd carrier is operation is improved we can than order a construction of a 65k nuclear-powered carrier to replace our INS vikramaditya

We need 4 carrier fleet by 2040-42 timelines,we don't need super carriers for that but two 50000-52000 tonnes which are CATOBAR capable with steam Catapults,even with conventional propulsion. These carriers can carry 36 fighters,2 Fixed wing AEW,4 ASW Helicopters,4 NUH & even drones. A 4 fleet carrier will be able to control eastern & western front,one in far off IOR & one under refit at times,to keep 3 always operational. Then only India can protect it's trade in high seas. For that we need fighters,so kindly handover the entire production of fighters to private sectors to maintain timelines.

Even if it is with Steam Catapults which can launch fighters & UAV,it worth it. Such ship would cost 1.25-1.5 billion dollars with Catapults for export customers with local manufacturing. A 40000 tons displacement ship with Catapults can easily launch 18-24 normal Marine fighters,so 2 such ships would have a fleet of 36-48 fighters along with 4-6 AEW & 12-16 Helicopters in total,thus considerably increasingly our Naval power.

I disagree with your analysis, in 21st century Aircraft carrier is useless for a country like India because we believe in defense. The other nations namely US and China are both aggressive that’s not our way of doing things. Another large power Russia has also declared AC useless which can be destroyed with barrage of modern supersonic and (hypersonic in future) missiles easily. Just bcuz some countries are thinking of converting LHD is due to availability of F35 to them. They are not specifically looking to build large carriers but making a smart move of dual use of available platforms. Both are different things. Same amount of 5+bn can be divided to buy nuclear submarines , drones and developing our island with air strips ( unsinkable carrier ). When we have a limited budget which is clear across armed forces the procurement needs to be in smart areas and bring harmonization amongst various arms of forces. I don’t feel we achieve that with carrier. From an engineering point of view it’s something to be proud of but from use it’s not worth the bill! For ex: you can get 36 more loaded Rafales plus a couple of submarines at same price!

LHD convert AC will have lot many limitations so let us discard Japan, Australia and Turkey as AC nations. But still US, China, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and India have aircraft carriers. One thing I believe is whether we go for STOBAR or CATOBAR depending on our budget, we need to have nuclear power to give it range and carry more aviation fuel. Vikramaditya is old and soo will require replacement so we need 2 more in the near future.
If STOBAR they should be easy to modify to flat top such should be the design.

@@arunkumarts8279 The solution is Russian Priboy E ,23900 class design with 40000 tonnes displacement,which also has options to install short range Catapults.
Even if it is with Steam Catapults which can launch fighters & UAV,it worth it.
Such ship would cost 1.25-1.5 billion dollars with Catapults for export customers with local manufacturing.
A 40000 tons displacement ship with Catapults can easily launch 18-24 normal Marine fighters,so 2 such ships would have a fleet of 36-48 fighters along with 4-6 AEW & 12-16 Helicopters in total,thus considerably increasingly our Naval power.

Bhai, I agree with your points ki aircraft carriers are necessary for every country, but the list highlighted in this video thoda confusing hai kyuki you have mentioned several countries with light aircraft carriers or helicopters carrier, now bringing this other category "helicopter carrier" into this list khud mein ek bee-hive hai kyuki, then you have to include several other countries too like Egypt's Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El Sadat, the two LHD Mistral class, aur phir khud French navy mein operational same class ke ships b, another country you should mention is South Korea (now again I have mentioned this because you have mentioned Japan), they have 2 Dokdo-class amphibious assault ship and at last you can mention Brazil too with it's Atlântico, aur phir apna pyar China b Type 075 landing helicopter dock ready kr rha hai, so I think iss video ko thoda aur simplify krke yeh sare category mention karna chaiye with advantage and disadvantages of each category.

I disagree with your analysis, in 21st century Aircraft carrier is useless for a country like India because we believe in defense. The other nations namely US and China are both aggressive that’s not our way of doing things. Another large power Russia has also declared AC useless which can be destroyed with barrage of modern supersonic and (hypersonic in future) missiles easily. Just bcuz some countries are thinking of converting LHD is due to availability of F35 to them. They are not specifically looking to build large carriers but making a smart move of dual use of available platforms. Both are different things.
Same amount of 5+bn can be divided to buy nuclear submarines , drones and developing our island with air strips ( unsinkable carrier ). When we have a limited budget which is clear across armed forces the procurement needs to be in smart areas and bring harmonization amongst various arms of forces. I don’t feel we achieve that with carrier. From an engineering point of view it’s something to be proud of but from use it’s not worth the bill! For ex: you can get 36 more loaded Rafales plus a couple of submarines at same price!

Very good information and good analysis. However it is very difficult to call LHDs as aircraft carriers, though F35s have given them capabality of acting as AC. LHD convert AC will have lot many limitations so let us discard Japan, Australia and Turkey as AC nations. But still US, China, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and India have aircraft carriers. @@AlphaDefenseHindi Yes, no doubt. But operating aircrafts from LHD has limitations like aircraft management and operations. Main function of LHD is to move troops to ground. F35B can help in ground support role but still cannot operate on high seas like conventional AC. Thanx.

- we don't have fund relatively
- India don't have big opponent in Indian ocean.
- we have 2 aircraft carriers already
-We have islands in choke points from strait of malacca to Lakshadweep.
- We don't have jets to have aircraft carrier, ya we have TEDBF bt they will also be replacing mig 29k after 8-10 yrs
- How amortization work ? even if you are buying Gerald ford its just 1.1 billion $/ year. (We have that money).
- For now ( You will see one Chineese carrier in Gwadar and another one entering IOR often).
- We have 2 and none is flat top (I have discussed that multiple times why we need flat top.
- Island can ever be an aircraft carrier talk to any Marcos and they will tell you why cant :)
- Vishal will anyways take 10 years from here so you will have time to make your fighters :)
