- Welcome to our brand new TH-cam series "In The Yard". In this series we'll show you an exclusive behind the scenes look at what goes into the building of a Kraken yacht, not just the finished article. As Dick B puts it, "it's going to be rough and ready" but we really hope you enjoy it.
In episode 1 Dogan, our Lamination Engineer shows you how we prepare the mould before the gelcoat is applied.
If there are more videos you'd like to see, please write in the comments or email us at sales@krakenyachts.com and we'll see what we can do.

Really looking forward to this series, but please make them a bit longer, perhaps show more of the work
Looking forward to the series. I hope the videos are way longer. It's kind of a tease when they are this short.
Dick, please reduce the music to a whisper, thank you
Already excited about the episodes! What an amazing yacht!
Very much looking forward to seeing this new series .......... shame you stopped doing the magazine - it was very interesting and sadly missed!
Oh man, this is going to be an epically enjoyable series. As if I didn't already want a 50!
Looking forward to follwing this!
Hi Dick,
Great initiative! This will also show the quality of the yacht (or not). Keep the video’s coming!
Harry
Nice, but a bit short. Make longer "In the Yard" video.
Would like to see a possible balanced rudder
I also hope these are much longer. Yacht building is never talked about or shown at any any of the shows. Few TH-cam people go into depth about their boats.
Please go into more depth about everything!
Specifically why, and how, Kraken is different from other builders during each phase. Also some of the lesser talked about things other than the Alpha Rudder and Zero Keel.
For instance I'm interested in the stringers and bulkheads being tabbed in. Are any of the other furniture cabinet support structures? Are there sealed conduits for wiring with mouse lines? What about the plumbing runs? Where are the batteries located? How is Kraken handling the new ABYC regulations regarding lithium? Will you overbuild those too?
loving the G clamps wrapped in plastic to hold the walking planks together! 😂. cant wait to see more on this epic bluewater conqueror.
Brilliant Dick !! This is a fantastic Idea , this is all hand layup , no resin infusion I take it.
Great see little boat builders still arround, perfectly planed trough from sailors, builders- designers and technicians .
Would love sailing a kraken to south over caribbean and pacific, bringing down under an great yacht of craftsman built. 🫡😉
