I think it’s great. It’s taken it’s design from Omega but it’s clearly it’s own brand. Many(most?) of us will never buy an Omega. Buying this watch won’t hurt Omega. If anything it brings visibility to them. ...every analog watch has a helium release. It’s called “the crown” but the extra valve on there still looks very salty(even if dive watches are obsolete for diving anyway).
I always look forward to your videos. Really dig your quirkiness/fun videos. I jumped over the fence and have ordered this exact watch on mesh strap a few weeks ago. It is currently clearing Canadian Customs. This is my first "white" dial, 4th Heimdallr. No disappointments from them yet. Thanks for showing me what I am in for!!!
Omega makes so many variants and special editions, people would easily think it's an Omega. Watch guys will appreciate its beauty and form, even if it's not an original. Great review.
I have the nttd version, it’s my favorite homage watch. The 12 o’clock indice is different from the omega, but I love it! The only gripe I have is that the bezel is not lumed, and the lume on my other Heimdallr watches seem to be stronger.
15:58 They went all out for an homage, even the mesh looks good but the mesh bracelet doesn't have the additional flap to secure the holes in when its sized for the wrist like the Omega one does. Almost wanted to buy the Heimdallr mesh separately then I saw that its missing that flap..
I ordered one of the NTTD (black) Sea Ghosts on heimdallrwatch during their CNY break. It's backordered, but they wrote that they expect to have more in stock by the end of March.
I've had my watch 3 weeks and the Crown lock is already not working. Looks like the threads are stripped. I wonder which part?? The crown or the crown tube?? Is that the part that has the threads on it????
From the intro to the “could drop while drunk” test, I was cracking up several times during this video. Not sure I could get over the hurdle to buy this watch but damn if it doesn’t make for an entertaining review. Keep up the good work!
Cool video. I have the genuine Omega NTTD but I am thinking about buying the white and blue one from Heimdallr. I am curious about the case, does it ressemble the Omega or is it an exact copy aside of the Naiad lock ? The good thing with these cheap watches is that they lend themselves to countless modifications with different dials, movements, etc…
I couldn’t speak to the case being an exact copy. I would say it is a good quality for the price and I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with the build of this watch.
If the build quality is good for the money and the watch has its own vide, then it is accepted and appreciated by me. Also this watch channel is hilarious, you harmonize professonal and not to be taken too seriously, I look forward to your videos bro
Heimdallr is interesting in that they don't focus on Submariner homages like so many other Chinese companies. In fact, they seem to make mostly Seikos that out-Seiko Seiko. I was looking for a good beater dive watch when I ran across this one...and like you I feel on the fence about how "homagey" it is, but I really do like it. Unnecessary He Valve and all.
It's really not that difficult to out-Seiko a Seiko, especially SKX. I mean, I love my SKX but considering how much modding I did to make it the way I like it, the only thing original left is the case... so might as well buy a Heimdallr SKX or escapement time SKX.
These reproduced clasps are actually shorter than the authentic ones, notably at the scissor system. Still wears good considering the bracelet excess that needs to be stored inside against the skin. Excellent video thanks!
Awesome 👏 review, very entertaining and very very nice timepiece. Would be nice to do a follow up and maybe a look 👀 of the movement inside. Keep up with entertaining reviews. Thanks 🤟✌️🤙☕️
I like the white dial version but the I'm leaning toward the blue version because of the tinted anti-reflective coating. Seems like it goes with the blue better.
I’m good with it. All watches that get homaged were original in design to themselves anyway, no exception for omega. I understand what you mean, I’m partial to the omega design so I’ve got a bias as well...but I’m still good with it. They may not have anything to offer over the Omega in specs and finish, but they made something very cool that’s attainable to a huge audience. Great review man, I’m with ya on all your points. I’m not into the watch but I’m 100% buying that bracelet for an Ocean Crawler I just picked up....cool little 40mm OC.
I don't mind homage or replica watches, as long as they have their own branding, and are not fakes trying to pass off as something else. Even if I have the means, I'm probably never going to spend over a $1K on a watch, and even that's pushing it. I would just feel selfish doing that, but a decent homage watch can give me the style I'm looking for, without the guilt and the hefty price tag. And the quality of some of these watches lately has been excellent. I know in the past you've reviewed a Heimdallr sea shepherd (one of my favorite intros from you, btw), an Islander, and other replica/homage watches. Are you starting to change your opinion on how you feel about them? Or is it just when they get to be too much like the original? Just curious.
Nope not changing my opinion. The sea shepherd offers more than what the original watch has in terms of specs, so does the islander. Apart from the titanium, this doesn’t really offer any better specs than the original. Omega has its own design than doesn’t look like anything else, so I struggle a bit with those rare homages of them.
@@watchmegobroke4365 Gotcha. That makes sense. I have an Islander pepsi and another vintage Seiko homage, both which offer better specs than the originals. An SKX, although getting harder to find, is not out of my budget, but I would spend more upgrading it to match the specs of the Islander. I guess it IS lacking the cool factor of just being a Seiko, but that doesn't really bother me. The other one has been out of production for a long time, and goes for a lot more, even in rough condition. So, I'm quite happy with it, considering it was only $200, and has absolutely no QC issues. Just a gorgeous watch, in the end.
The one I bought on ebay from level1000 store Isn't "Heimdallr But has the shark "Sharky but same watch same bracelet and movement and bracelet. The store does have 100% feedback and I attest they don't sell what they do not have in stock. I asked them before I paid if they had the black dial sea ghost and they replied "Yes we have 2 left" I Paid and confirmed I locked mine in. Later that night I checked the listing and it was sold out.
I got mine from an ebay lister Heimdallr USA. They sell new. I couldn’t find it on Aliexpress or Hemdallr’s site, when I previously could find it on Aliexpress.
Through their shape & form, it seems that these Heimdallr SeaGhost watches are homages of the Omega Seamaster NTTD rather than the regular Seamaster 300M as both differ from each other in many respects. The NTTD is not shiny at all, it is subdued. It is made from brushed titanium, its case is slimmer, it has a doomed saphir crystal with AR inside only, the bezel insert is mat brown aluminium as is the dial. The standard Seamaster 300M is very shiny as it has a lot of candy. It is made from polished & brushed stainless steel, its case is a little but visibly thicker than the NTTD, its saphir crystal is gently curved but about flush with the bezel surface and has AR coating on both sides, the bezel insert is shiny ceramic as well as the dial which has a waves pattern. So, in white or blue, Heimdallr follows the Omega NTTD lines but could not be mistaken for one because of the colours and pronounced AR coating. Since it is not shiny as the standard Seamaster 300M then it could not be one either… So you are clear here but still, I wonder what Omega thinks about these homages… Copy is the best form of flatery but…
I don’t know if this sounds silly… But as I’ve been able to add a couple of big brand ‘à la big cost’ Watches to my collection I have less and less of a problem with buying homages Of those same brands… Instead of buying less how much is after I got my Omega I bought more…I got a Sumo and a couple of $12-1500 Seieko’s and I’ve bought 10? Seiko homages after that...… Not to mention the 30 micro brands since then...dunno...
ive had mine for a couple of months now and ive gone off it, it will probably end up in my watch drawer. i'm not liking the off white dial and i wish it was a bit 'whiter' . i own a heimdallr skx homage which i really like which has a significantly better lume - the lume on indices of the sea ghost is ok , but it's useless on the hands. yep the crown action is very smooth , bezel action is as tight as a badger a$$ and i think they could have made the scripts on the dial stand out much more than they have, especially the red which is is very weak. they should have embossed the shark logo as they did with their skx homage instead of just doing a cheap print... overall im not overwhelmed with mine .
To be honest, I don't mind homage watches when they are done with reasonable quality like Heimdallr, SanMartin and other. May I suggest suggest you not to review them if you don't like the idea of homages from China.
Haha! I love homages from China and reviewed many. This one I felt could be too close since Omega is such a unique design, but I’m certainly going to wear it.
Great video........ I appreciate your videos!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a great looking watch ⌚👌. It's a homage and omega doesn't make a white dial titanium 007 version of the seamaster... I have several authentic seamasters but would buy this for $225.00..... it's a good 👍looking watch. best seamaster homage ever!!!!!
love how it comes with a spring bar tool and extra nato strap with buttery smooth winding

Another fab review! If I didn't already have 'the real thing' this would definitely be on its way to me - If I could find one.....😃👍
Thank you!
Nice touch with your Whitby intro, I own several sub homages but I'm not sure I'd buy a seamaster homage
Is the handset silver or black? Didn't hear that getting mentioned?
Its kind of grey matching the case
It’s awesome, as you said, even if dangerously close to being basically a clone - and the review was awesome too 😂
great video sir, whats your wrist size btw
7 and 1/2

Titanium is not lighter than steel, but it is much stronger, allowing for less material to be used.
I ordered one. White.
Definitely not champagne dial ... more of a riesling.
