Nice bolt gun . Glass wise … I would try something you already have just to function test with . Then make a decision based on how accurate she tosses lead down range . Are you going precision rifle with it ?

Good video! I have the m18 too but chambered in 30-06. The one thing I did to mine was to install iron sights on mine. Long slope front sight and adjustable ghost ring for the rear on a rail. Have you ever thought about doing the same to yours?
I will be honest the thought did cross my mind on that possibility. Maybe in the future I will, but I'm not holding my breath how busy things have gotten.

The reason I used a rail was to be able to easily install a scope when I wanted too which I did. Having the interchangeability has mad the rifle more compatible with different hunting situations.

I haven't seen any in the caliber, but they might make it in that caliber; whether or not they get sent over from Germany or not is a different question.

Girlfriend just ordered one in 6.5 cm for for deer hunting. She's been using my old .243 the last two years and bagged a doe each year. However she wants her own now and eurooptic has these for a good price so told her to jump on it. What scope did you end up getting?
they purposely use polymer on the trigger - for a better feeling in the cold- the inner trigger parts are made of good quality steel - you should have bought the threaded version from the getgo

I really wish I had brought it out, but I hunt in a dense forest with the longest line of sight being maybe 60 yards. At that point the 6.5 creedmoor seems to be a bit more than I need for that job.

"mauser action", or "full length claw extractor" the feeding of the round is controlled ( via the claw extractor) from the elevator spring to the chamber. you can also tell if it is a controlled feed if it it is very difficult to feed a single round into the chamber by hand and then attempting to close the bolt. This rifle is not a controlled feed style. Some people like controlled feed and some don't.

I would put a 4x12x40 MM super zoom tactical scope on there in a Simmons scope it's a real good rifle scope and it does wonders because it's got mail dots in the rifle optics up down and left and right with Mill dots and I've killed a deer at 250 yards with that rifle with my 308 with that rifle scope is an awesome scope to have on that bolt action you want a civilian-made sniper rifle you go with a 4x12x40 mm super zoom scope go to your nearest Walmart dealer it's only like $77 just say $80 bucks it'd be easier

It appears that ,'Mauser,' has followed the lead of Remington, Ruger and the other cheap corporate Capitalist companies and cheapened their products to the point that they are useless! This rifle has many sister-rifles, the sauer 100 and 101 has almost the same exact bolt, and the magazines are interchangable.

They guarantee sub-moa on 5 shots but I havent seen that level of accuracy on the few vids out there.

Honestly that redfield scope is nice. Get a Remington Long Action base for it and she should be good to go.
