    That is a great looking Sim build. Based on your setup I can see you are very committed to the game. May I make 2 suggestions to elevate an already amazing setup to next level.
    1-Web cam putting. Adds great realism and does demand skill in aligning putt and estimating speed. See Triple Bogey Golf YT channel for his setup.
    2-OBS software to project data onto your floor. See TBG channel for that also.
    Two very inexpensive yet high yield investments to your golf sim experience.
    Best of luck with BBG Bar and Grill opening. Sounds like a cool idea. If I ever make my way to Ct I'll drop by for a brew, burger and a round of golf.

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, the floor projection with OBS is actually on my to do list. I've seen Ben's setup at TBG and love the concept, he's super talented and creative. Joe Lagowski has also done some cool stuff with the projection, using projection to add virtual lines for training aids etc...so much stuff can be done to enhance it. I hope to get to that soon for sure. I'll announce when we open the new facility here on the channel as well. Thanks again for the suggestions!

    What kind of foundation do you have? Did you do footers or is it on skids? How much power did you run to the shed? Did you actually permit this with the town? Wondering if i should keep it under the radar. Any regrets or things you would do different?

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I used Heavy-Duty Polyolefin Deck Blocks with 6x6 posts. Electrical - 100amp panel, I'm running a 12K BTU Mini Split for Heat/AC. Yes, I had to pull a permit with the town. The only thing I would do different if I could would have gone 16' x 24'. I think that extra 4ft would be more comfortable, although it's fine at 16 'x 20'. Thanks for the comment.

    • @CompleteProjectFailure
      @CompleteProjectFailure 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure my town will let me use Deck Blocks in place of footings or a slab, if I’m running power to it. I read through he town code two times, but its kind of a cryptic document, so I have a call in to zoning/building to understand the requirements better (seems like sqft might make it a ‘garage’ over a ‘shed’ which has a different set of rules. Did you run the 100amp service off your main house panel or did you pull a whole new meter off the pole? I think my house is only 100amp! So not sure i can push another 100amp off that. Unfortunately I probably can’t fit an extra 4ft, i already think this thing is going to appear way bigger than my wife realizes! Any updates on your bar/lounge spot? I’m only a few towns away from you, so would love to check that out and help get some ideas for my project.

    Awesome layout and setup! I closed in a 18x30 portion of my 50x30 workshop. Also have the Carl's Place Pro enclosure 16'x9' but still struggling with getting a few wrinkles out. Did you put anything under your turf as a vapor barrier?

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, one layer of 6 mil vapor barrier underlayment. 1 inch foam interlocking gym tiles on top of that, then the Elite Putting turf. This is the underlayment I used.. Thanks amzn.to/3AJS6q1

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tommychambers9220 every once in a while I’ll tweak the screen with the bungees and or large zip ties if needed. After a year of using it almost every day the only area it’s really noticeable is the lower left and right corners. I just tighten up those corners and that takes care of it until I need to do it again. When the room is dim, even if there are wavy spots you don’t even see them. Pretty happy about the screen quality, it’s held up well considering how often it’s used.

  • @SCGolf3

    Did you mount the protee VX to the Screen enclosure and not the ceiling? Ever afraid of hitting it with an errant chip shot? Great setup btw.

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it's mounted directly to the enclosure frame. The only time I get hesitant with thoughts of hitting it is when the 60 degree is in my hand and I want to hit a high flop shot. Although I've never come close to hitting it, it could happen so I'm not taking any chances. With that in mind I did purchase a shield for the unit. I'll be uploading an installation video on that soon. Thanks for the comment!

    I looked through your videos but didn't see a review of the Protee VX LM. What has your experience been like (objectively)? I'm hoping with some of the Black Friday deals I'm seeing, Protee might follow suit and lower their pricing.

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I actually planned to do a 1 year review of the Protee VX. That will be coming up in December. I'm not sure they'll be lowering their price, it's been $6,500 and hasn't moved since it was released. I can tell you from my experience so far that I have absolutely no regrets. The team at Protee United is constantly working on new features and improvements. I know they are currently working on Swing Camera integration as well. The shot video replay is fantastic, no stickers required for club data is huge. They are the only ones that have implemented Ai into their LM. So they virtually add the stickers using Ai technology. I am opening up an indoor facility this coming Spring with 4 bays, all VX's going in. I also own Uneekor & Foresight LM's, If I was just starting out I would buy the Protee over the other 2 based on my experience with all 3. The software is seamless, lag free and a breeze with GSPro. Instant shot feedback, no delay, no subscription fees, no stickers, overhead for Lefty & Righty players and at that price point you really can't beat it. Not to mention the ball data is very accurate. Hope this helps.

      @@BogeysBackyardGolf Thank you for the reply and insight. I've had my eye on the VX for about 5 months. With other vendors starting to offer discounts (Uneekor overheads are 30% off right now) I am wishful thinking that Protee might do the same. My wife/CFO has cleared me to pull the trigger if the VX gets to 4000-4500. I use a Garmin R10 right now and while its been ok, i really want the overhead to regain some of the space behind the teeing area.

    • @BogeysBackyardGolf
      @BogeysBackyardGolf  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The actual viewable screen size is approximately 9 1/2 X 15’. The aspect ratio is 16:10. In terms of accuracy, the Protee and BLP are generally within 5 yds of each other. This goes for the Eye Mini as well. All 3 are in the same neighborhood. My personal preference is the Protee. Thanks

Any reason why you didn't design the shed in a way where the screen would run along the 10ft low side so that you would have a consistent height for right hand and left hand players?
