The section where Poults plays off the path around 33 mins is just an absolute joy. Poults giving a ridiculous level of insight into why he chooses to play off the path when 99.9% of amateur golfers would just instinctively take the free drop (if available) without a second thought is an amazing lesson. Couple that with Rick just laughing in the background at how lucky he is to be getting that sort of insight from Poulter and then seeing Rick's sheer joy and amazement when Poults pulls the shot off exactly as he described (albeit not to his own incredibly high standards) is wonderful. Brilliant video Rick - thank you!

I already liked Ian Poulter but now I Love him!
As fans seeing pros talk us through the shots is always something we love to see (which is why Rick always asks the pros to talk us through it (thanks Rick always been a fan))
But what Ian adds is his geniue caddying at a high level and Rick doesn't have to ask.
I remember when Nick Faldo gave rick that wonderful piece of advice with the low 9 iron shot into the heavy wind but Rick basically had to beg for that and it felt like Nick reluctantly gave it because he is so competitive and I dont hate Nick for it . . . Thats his personality even against Rick he was there to win thats the way he is thats the mindset that won him Majors.
And no Ian doesnt have a major but his ryder cup career alone and his reactions in that tournament show how competitive he is and how good he is in these one on one scenarios
And we saw that competitive drive really kick him into gear at the death when Rick was somehow holding on (I mean that in the nicest way possible Rick but at one point I thought Ian was gonna need an 8 on the last to get it done)
But dispite it going to the wire Ian still helps Rick (without asking) as a caddy genuinely to the best of his abilities.
He also warned Rick about the 20ft spin at the end I felt like Rick didnt buy it because of how Ians landed.
Either way we saw Ian change gears to close it out.
Rick not your best round but I really applaud the way you played that last hole when the pressure was max and the confidence understandably knocked.
And Ian . . . Thanks for adding so much to a series that already on its own delivers so much . . . You have set a benchmark for the pros that follow.
Wish I could give this more than one like.
    Thanks Lads!

Great video, and insight into the mindset of a pro golfer, so open and honest. Love how Ian never seems to claim to be unlucky. When shots don't come out perfect he always owns them, "landed it too short" on hole 5, when he is fortunate the next hole he's equally quick to say it. It is so easy to believe you're unlucky all the time, when you are the only one in control. You generally make your own luck, a reminder for me that once you own that in golf, instead of blaming the golfing gods, your game can only improve!

I have to admit something here. As an American, and huge fan of the Ryder cup; I would look forward to any match that Ian was a part of just as much as I was for any American golfer. Ian is an absolute Legend of the Ryder Cup and was just pure joy to watch as a sportsman. He just has a grit that you fall in love with as a competitor. But I never knew any other side of him, and after seeing the podcast; I am going to admit that I am a proper fan. Ian is a great competitor for sure, but he seems to be a true gentleman and family man. Rick this is what golf is all about and what it was meant to be when the game was opened up to the world. Another great video and I look forward to many more like this. Ian was a great host and even though neither played great there was some signs of greatness from both Ian and Rick. Guys this was just so much fun to watch, but if I am being completely honest; I was hoping to see a bit more of the chest pounding Ian come out and take over the match....LOL I am now a huge Ian Poulter fan and grateful that I had a chance to see the podcast and experience this round with Ian and Rick.

It’s mad because I think Ian is more of a numbers man than I would ever of expected, fascinating to hear him talking about distance when choosing his club for each shot to the green, great stuff!

As much as Ian would piss me off during the Ryder Cup, he was an absolute joy to watch in this episode. I loved listening to his thought process, helping Rick, and the banter was priceless. I would play with Ian in a heartbeat.

Stellar video Rick, have not watched you for a while but this was top drawer. Ian Poulter is such a kind gentleman with his comments and what an entertainer. Woburn looked tough, as even top class golfers can hit trees square on 😂😂😂

Fab film - I'm learning the game, and gave me confidence to see pros and superstars still put a ball against a tree, or in the rough - also learned a lot - cheers👏

I will be honest, I haven't been the biggest fan of Mr.Poulter for a long time and I have been totally wrong about him for entirely. What class. Great person. One of my favorite 10 shot challenges.

Unlucky for Rick on that last hole. Every shot he hit was good but Poulter found his groove on the last few holes. He came across really likable too. Still competitive but fun, funny and magnanimous.

Ian Poulter and yourself were just a delight to watch around a course I love to play. Great to see it played by you two. Am already looking forward to my next trip to Woburn. Watching a pro like Ian play with all the thought processes is just an education all us amateur golfers will benefit from. Plus the quality of play from you both at your best is just great to see and the recovery shots when you’re in trouble so good. The course is my favourite of the 3 courses at Woburn and probably the one I favour if you are slightly off line though still punishes you for wayward shots. Tricky when you are offline and really tests you to manufacture shots.
I was fortunate enough last year for Ian to sign his autobiography signed and managed to thank him on this year’s trip to Woburn. A great player and a wonderful venue - all 3 courses are fabulous. 👌🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️⛳️
Looking forward to your next challenge. 👏🏼👏🏼

Made the mistake of starting to watch this video at about 11:30pm, it's now 1:30am and I'm up at 6! Will regret that when the alarm clock goes off but it was a great watch. Enjoyed Ian's talk-through of his shots, the difference between his and my thought process is laughable - great insight!
