@@YizusCrist So I bought one two months ago and so far so good. Hasn't shown any colour change. Seems like it'll be okay. Looks quite clean and minimal.
@@YizusCrist It's sweet handy device and gets bright enough to read in the dark comfortably. Only con the screen resolution which will still be fine for most text. But If you are an avid reader who reads graphic novels or textbooks and the budget is not an issue...a high resolution display of the Paperwhite would serve you better.
The feature that separates the Kindle basic from Kindle Paperwhite the most IMO is the page doesn't flicker dark when you turn book pages on the Paperwhite.
I WANTS TO BUY THE NEW KINDLE BUT CANT CHOSE BETWEEN THE WHITE OR THE BLACK ONE , RECOMMEND ME WHICH SUITS THE BEST IS THERE ANYTHING LIKE OPTICAL ILLUSION THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE COLOR, IF YES THEN WHICH IS TO BE PREFERRED TO A DISTRACT FREE READING.
I am confused between the basic and paperwhite. Except storage I believe water proof or audio books or some display settings may not make a lot of difference. For long term purpose I want to have 8 GB storage but this much price difference doesn't make sense :(
The resolution matters more than you would think, but you will not need more than 4 GB if you are not storing audiobooks. Books are such small files that you could literally have thousands of them within that 4GB at any time. You could always back up your books on a PC or on Amazon Cloud if you buy through them.
Amazing review man. Just once again if you could let me know, does the lesser pixel density on the entry level kindle hamper the reading experience? thinking of buying it in a day or two.
It doesn't. Most Kindle reviews try to soft push the Paperwhite. Anyway, even if there was any drastic difference, you will only know it when you have both together.
I have a 4th gen kindle and wanted to upgrade. Though the new ones are nice, they seem to not have the most important feature that I have in my old model. That is, the screen actually has paper texture. It looks like paper but it actually felt like paper as well. I think I will just keep my old one..
When can we expect a kindle with USB type c charging port? I know it's an ebook reader we don't transfer data like phone/tablet & we charge once a week but type c is a must in 2020 to avoid carrying additional charging cables.
Kindles can't open an EPUB file. You should first convert it into an AZW3 file (with formatting preserved) or a MOBI file (formatting lost) before sending them to your Kindle. You can easily sideload external books from your PC. Use Calibre to manage the books you have, convert everything to AZW3 format and send to Kindle over USB. It'll be displayed fine, as a "book", with the cover intact. Or else you can send any document or MOBI (not AZW3) ebook to the Amazon servers to send them to the Kindle over internet via Amazon's personal document delivery service by sending it as an attachment to your personalized Kindle email id. They'll be displayed with the cover intact but as a "document" instead of a "book". Many formatting options will be missing as it'll can only be converted into a MOBI file by Amazon servers (not AZW3). If you just download any AZW3/MOBI file from any site or cloud storage using the Kindle's own browser, it'll be readable but the cover will be broken.
The paper white 4 is a better option in my opinion. The paper white 3 isn’t so bad either. Anyway this isn’t a bad device. You could buy it if you want but it’s not too clear and not a amazing device. The paper white 4 has better backlighting than the all new kindle. If you are on a budget, you could consider buying this e-reader. The pw4 is much better though. The pw3 is also probably just as good as the all new kindle. The oasis is the best if you can afford it but the feel of holding it isn’t very nice. I have the paper white 4 and so does one of my good friends. My friend had the oasis but he didn’t like it because of the grip so returned because of the grip. Holy crap why did i write so much
So you think it’s worth paying extra? The only thing that keeps me from the previous Kindle was the missing of backlight. Now this new entry level version has one, but I heard so many people say that the Paper white is a better choice. I love reading and consider buying my first e reader.
@Vu Nguyen if you want the better experience buy the paperwhite. Best all around. Oasis is amazing if you can afford it. Buy the budget version only if you are on a very low budget

Can I download the British Council e-book and audio book app and PressReader app on the Kindle Paperwhite (10th gen) - 6" High Resolution Display with Built-in Light, 8GB, Waterproof, WiFi + FREE 4GB ??
Please help! I am confused whether to buy a kindle reader or not. The main purpose is to read mechanical engineering textbooks, often involving codes, equations, diagrams and graphs. Should I buy the new kindle reader/paperwhite or is there any other better option? P.S: I have pdf copies of the books Update: Someone gifted me a kindle, but I am primarily using my laptop to read engineering books. Thanks for the suggestions.
@@varma_s The 6" display on the Kindle is going to be a little too small for comfortable PDF viewing. I'd suggest the Kobo Aura One or Kobo Forma as they have 7.8"-8" displays, though they're quite a bit more expensive at nearly $300. If you don't want to spend in that price range, something like a Fire HD 8 won't be as easy on the eyes as a real e-reader but is a decent budget option.
Don't buy any E reader for reading the engineering textbooks, reference books. PDF reading is not recommended in this model because it has 167pi display. And the though your textbooks are converted to Kindle supported format(azw3) the conversion is not up to the mark. Cause the diagrams, tables and eqns gets disturbed in converted format.
Does the resolution difference matter if I am going to read just books with text and not comics or graphic novels? Because other than that I don't really care about the 8gb space or waterproofing.
If you are using a Kindle for the first time then the low resolution may not be an issue for you. However, if you have used a paperwhite in the past, then the low resolution is evident.
Hey, that was a great review. Could you suggest any other ebook readers apart from Kindle? Or is the Indian market for ebook readers really limited Kindle?
A few years ago, there was kobo reader. I bought kobo reader with light at rs6000. Much cheaper than kindle paper white which had light. But it was slow when making highlight on the book or when we are accessing the books in Home. One a book is opened, flipping pages is not a problem. I like it as it served the purpose of just reading and it had light at cheap price. But I damaged the kobo reader due to my negligence. I bought that kobo reader on Croma website.
