What makes Precious such a powerful film is that it’s relatable. A lot of people can relate to Precious and her struggles. But to find people who care about you despite being so broken; that’s a powerful thing.

I think about how many houses and apartments all over the world that have something like this going. Families that live hidden lives, ignoring all the rules and norms of behavior that most people believe i n. They are like their own dystopian nation sates where all the laws and the culture is different. Andif you were born into that and know nothing else, it is pretty hard to break out of that.
this movie is very sad... can you imagine how lonely people like this feel...kids make friends with the lonely kid, brighten up their day and yours will shine...

Although there are two types of lonely people, the one who suffers because they want to have friends and cannot and the one who simply wants to be alone, the latter does not actually enjoy human company

Me too. Crying when I hear what the father did to her. It's a good movie to show how abuse can run free in a family and nobody try to stopped or help the victim. My girlfriend now wife showed me this film. I can say I was only able to watch it once, it’s so heartbreaking and it shattered my soul. So much pain so much sadness and tragedy How many people go through stuff like this. Looking back at my life I can say I’ve had it so easy.
" Kitten Hartford" I saw the movie. I did not tear up. It reminded me a lot of the people I had encountered or knew of in the neighborhood I lived in when I was a teenager. In a way, I can identify with certain characters or some of their situations. The movie contains a lot of scenes of the kind of New York City that used to exist in the 1970s and 1980s up to the 1990s. It is interesting how the scenes of people on the streets or in the subway, are not using cell phones. If it was filmed in location a lot of the locations must have changed dramatically.

I just watched this movie last night for the first time. Omg!!!!! I absolutely can not believe what I saw. The movie was sad, pathetic, miserable, inspiring, emotional, triumphant, and gut wrenching. I wanted to jump through the television I was so angry. How many kids are actually going through that in real life? I LOVE the cast and each actor brought their A game. Only the best of the best was cast in each role. Brilliant film! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I was a Real Mama Bear when ?? If any Messed with them..A Friend in school & a few houses down their Dad, raped each girl. When he started on the youngest my friend my age told her teacher. AND the mother chose that evil non man to stay at home until trial and the Girls had to leave with family.. in the 80's he got ONLY 5 Months probation. He tried with me. I was young. About 7 my Dad tried to cut up my Mom, to end her.. i ran there to call the police. She lived. It was horrible always fighting.. and HIM too. I Pray for people in this.. ways of their lives in but such horrors.. i Always stood up for women, guy's. The weaker ones..😢 Love Prayers for you all..🙏🙏🙏🕊

You literally can't make that assumption with every abuse victim. Women being abused is so common with women that if they were abused you wouldn't know it by the way they move on with life. There are plenty of women who have xesually and physically abused in their life that you probably wouldn't know it unless they told you.

Just saw it for the 1st time & excellent movie!!! However not realistic. If you’ve been abused on a scale only a few know: 1) you’re scared of everyone & everything 2) you don’t feel or know love, only survival the rest of your life
You literally can't make that assumption with every abuse victim. Women being abused is so common with women that if they were abused you wouldn't know it by the way they move on with life. There are plenty of women who have xesually and physically abused in their life that you probably wouldn't know it unless they told you.
