I find interesting the crucible horns and deathblight spikes are quite similar. The crucible time period most if not all creatures I time period worship death in some what way like ancient dragons/beast man in farum azula bodies ceremonial like, uhl death rituals and death rite bird rituals. Maybe that’s why marika sealed and used maliketh to to seal the concept of death into his black blade for her new order agenda and cursed maliketh to now cursed to eat death roots. Also interesting that deathrite birds have deathblight scream similar to the black blade kindreds scream.

My one criticism for this video is a misinterpretation I see quite often regarding the Mending Rune of the Death Prince. The Rune of Death, aka Destined Death, is the reason for having to kill Maliketh, and retrieving it essentially adds it to your repertoire of Great Runes, albeit not as a physical item in-game, in essence meaning every ending where the Elden Ring is mended has the Principle of Death restored to the Elden Ring, Melina even said it herself, "this world is in dire need of repair, and death indiscriminate." If she believed Fia's rune would bring death indiscriminate then we would have no need to kill Maliketh. Furthermore, Fia's rune "embeds the principle of life Within Death into Order", which makes dying and then returning as an undead who-knows-what a new part of the natural order. Sorry for the wall of text, it's just that I see this misconception quite often, but otherwise a fantastic lore video!

On why Godwyn's body looks the way it does:
One theory somewhere in yt suggested that Godfrey has some sort of connection to the Primordial Crucible due to him being the leader of the Crucible Knights. The theory goes that his connection to It gave him primordial/animalistic traits and/or powers, kinda like the knight abilities to summon tails, wings and horns. This may explain why he developed an animalistic personality when he reverted to is original self , Hoarah Loux. It sorta like how Malenia has rot power because of her connection to a outer god of rot. If so then Godwyn may have inherited some primordial/animalistic powers/traits and when his "soul died" they went out of control manifesting as animal traits in his body; almost as if his soul/humanity was a stabilizer for his body's animal like powers. Said connection to the crucible may also explain why a powerful dragon befriended Godwyn.
So basically Godfrey and his son are the Pillar Men of Elden Ring.

This was a cool video. My current logic on why Godwyn wasn't born and Omen where as Morgott and Mohg were, is that the twins were likely conceived after Godfrey took Serosh upon his back, Godwyn would have been prior. Serosh's beastman presence in the matter would give that touch of things mixing that the Crucible is fond of. I also noticed when we go to fight Godfrey, Serosh is bawling to the sky in the cutscene where they are holding Morgott. He took it harder than Godfrey.

Here are my random 3 cents because Godwyn lore is fun and i enjoyed the video :3
Cent1) i say this on every video about Godwyn cause i just want it to be true! Godwyn was Champion of the Sun! :D why not eh? We know its not far fetched because of Rennala. the golden sun would be a great symbol for the golden order. the current sun is uh...missing? its sort of them but im not convinced. theres that area in the Altus plateau that was definitely related to Godwyn but is now shrouded in darkness...despite being right under the Erdtree...Also Champions of the Sun is just a very Fromsoft sort of thing so its my prediction lol
cent 2) In regards to the black knives. I feel like it was Ranni who planned/lead the assassination attempt. the most involvment we have from Marika so far is that the Black Knives involved are related to her in some way. But i do think that Marika knew it was happening/had a hunch/what have you. She openly wants her children to make something of themselves and i don't think she would interfere. especially in Ranni's, who as an empyrea,n shows a great deal of promise.
cent 3) both Pustules and Cysst are resusts of a kind of cancerous cell. and cancer is when cells mess up and start multiplying rapidly without cause. and i wonder if in this case, a body without a spirit ends up growing and changing out of control. like cancer. Thats why Godwyn looks that way and seems to be changing into a fish?? who knows XD

What I found interesting is why we never actually see Godwyn face ?? There is plenty of painting of most of the Demi gods in the lands between but not Godwyn ?

My theory is that Marika was the original deathbed companion and that Godwyn wasn’t the offspring of Marika and Godfrey, but in fact the Elden Beast. This would explain Godwyn’s grotesque fish-like appearance since the Elden Beast looks and behaves aquatic. The Elden Beast actually uses incantations similar to the Golden Order while Godfrey just sumo slams you. I know there are depictions of Godwyn being half human(they never reveal his bottom half) in the story trailer and intro but it doesn’t come close to what we find in game. There was a lot of cut content very late in the development and I believe they did to make everything be harder to interpret.

    This was awesome.
I’ve always liked the idea that Ranni manipulated Marika and that Marika did shatter the Elden Ring out of grief.
She was definitely calculating and cold but I also like the idea that she’s a tragic figure who got in over her head. And Ranni used her and orchestrated Godwin’s death to eliminate a lot of belief in the Golden Order

You Don't need to compare with Nordic Gods but that's a great help
Godwyn, Miquella and the Gloam Eyed Queen have the best DLC Material.

This is great! Glad i found this channel! I never considered Godwyn as a sullied crucible lol
i like the theory a lot tho i can't prescribe fully to it. I follow the qualities of regression and the reintroduction of death. That's a beautiful connection! And that regression may even offer a glimpse to the time of the crucible. But even if we are to take godwyn's chimeric condition to indicate some regressive direct connection with the effects of the crucible, we would still place the actual crucible far before his time, and we would have to discuss the connection in inversion. The crucible absorbed all life. Godwyn is spreading death. In their being conceptually opposite, they must be diametrically related. With Marika, (the former queen-empyrian of death) being the middle.
The aspects of the crucible, and the 5-necked dragon placidusax, are proof enough that the crucible had a complex origin, let alone evolution. It still exists, in settled state as the Erd Tree. Tuning spirits in the interest of the Greater Will.
Last points not included were that you can find death-crabs that seemingly carry godwyn's face on their backs. His body also shares qualities of the basilisks, and their eyes look just like the eyes of godwyn, as opposed to iterations in previous souls games.
I am now subscribed. Geeked to watch more!

Great video, but I must say that I disagree with the idea that Godwyn is in someway a means for the crucible to seep back into the lands between. In my opinion it is not the crucible but death itself that is trying to take root once again. As you stated, by removing the rune of death from the elden ring, Marika effectively removed death from the lands between in the hopes that her rule and that of her offspring would be eternal. It is my belief that perhaps some outer god of death is using Godwyn to spread deathroot through the lands between to return death to the world though I have little in game evidence to back this up. We have seen similar acts being taken in other from software games however. For example, Gwyn sacrificing himself to prolong his age of fire in the dark souls series, or to a lesser degree, the transformation from a palace noble into an immortal giant carp effectively imprisoned in a lake, having to be fed by the other palace nobles in sekiro. The common theme in all of these in my opinion is the unnatural prolonging of the status quo or one's life. Each example seems to be a criticism of the idea of immortality, a criticism which I personally agree with. In removing the rune of death, Marika has broken the natural order of the world, which is why, again in my opinion it is possible or even likely an outer god of death is acting through Godwyn, just as with several of his siblings. I also believe that by using the death mending rune in the duskborn ending, the player restores death and by extension the natural order to the lands between, likely sating the outer god of death and allowing those that live in death and all others, maybe even Godwyn himself to finally find peace in death. That is what I've come to believe myself. Fantastic video, keep them up.

There is evidence that the primordial crucible was just another name for the Erdtree during a time of dragons, with the crucible knights just being a carry over. Farum Azula, the supposed capital of the dragons back when a dragon was Elden Lord, depicts the Elden Ring intertwined with a tree. Even the incantations to the crucible are in the the same category as the Erdtree and stated to be younger than the Elden Star incantation, the one created when the Elden Ring fell to the Lands Between.

This brings me back to the times of pre-release theories.
Mine was that the male character shattering Elden Ring in first trailer was Godwyn reanimated by black pus entity after Night of Black Knives. With Godwyn now acting as an agent of entity that opposes Golden Order and being potential final boss.
I expected Destined Death to play central role in the story, more involvement of Ragnarok inspiration considering vibe of pre-release cinematic and overall more focused direction in the story.

Bamger vid as usual! My second essay version will def have some stuff on this baldin godwyn stuff. One thing I'm going to also make parallels to is that godwyn is literally just the god version of gwyn. I think by killing off god gwyn Miyazaki is saying he is done with his old view of masculinity and femininity. Theres a lot about this in the essay already but thats one angle I'm gonna flesh out some more :)
