I once heard an interview about an Indian in Australia who gave one of the most grounded interviews ever . He said that he had been a target of racial slurs but inspite of that it was a small price to pay for living in a such a beautiful country . His other option was to go back to India , live with downgraded quality of life , suffer corruption etc .
When it comes to us Indians , we are doomed .

Stop being passive, you need to learn to hold your ground in the most civil matter so you get to throw their own hypocrisy back at them among authorities or in court if it comes to it.
This is evident across the spectrum no matter which country you migrate to, aggresive lunatics think they are levitating above our 'ilk'. It's high time we give a taste of what life had to offer Indians after living a life of corporal punishment and domestic violence. These vanilla loosers would never amount to that kinda pain.

I moved here in 2004. I moved to a city that has a pronounced Indian presence. So while I have 20 years of experience being an Indian in the US, it may be that I didn’t face any pronounced racism because there were many of us here. But the fact is, I didn’t see much racism at all. Otherness, yes - but then I remember treating people who didn’t look talk or think like me differently even while growing up back in India - so I know it’s human to have a sense of self and other. Whoever noticed my “otherness” wasn’t ipso facto a racist.

The video brought tears to my eyes, at the brave and positive outlook the family has taken despite their home being vandalized. It was 1985 and we had built a home in a lovely neighborhood in Wilmington, NC. One Halloween we were left a "trick" of someone's BOWEL MOVEMENT on our front porch. I quickly hosed it clean, and didn't discuss it with my young daughters who saw it too. We quickly washed it out of our memories too but I occasionally remember it like just now. Come to find out that Wilmington has the most segregated school district in the state of NC. But our daughters did well in school here and moved on to college.

It’s the effort that counts, if it’s a white name like Schwarzenegger, you pronounce it and take efforts pronouncing it correctly, if it’s Louis vuitton, you say it like louie vitton, all of these are foreign names, but when it’s an Indian name, you don’t show efforts, it’s not that hard, I mean You are building colonies in Mars, Building A.I, and pronouncing an Indian name is hard for you? And worst of all butchering someone’s name…O.P is right, it’s racism in a subtle way though

@@jasondsouza7650 German, like English, belongs to the same family of languages. Both are Germanic languages. Hindi belongs to a different root language. Hence, the reason it's easier for an English speaker to pronounce Schwarzenegger and other European names. Btw, English speakers butcher French names all the time. Louis is pronounced correctly because it's a widely known brand.

You will be Surprised in spite of Facing Racism, Indian-Americans continue to practice Casteism on foreign Soil too. Even though I am from General Category, I am Shocked to See Caste discrimination on foreign Soil. Sorry Excuse given by the NRI's is that Caste System was introduced by East India Company, What a Pathetic way of Shifting blame. Caste system has been there for 1000 years & Mentioned in Ramayan and Mahabharat too( Shabri & Karan who are shown as Untouchables). It's High time We Indians abolish this Caste system which is more cruel than Racism.

Racism is as normal in India China as it is in Eurpore/America. Everybody just brushes it under a carpet. It will always exist. Try having a white kid in a black dominant school, or in a brown dominant school and vice versa, you will have exactly similar experiences. It's simple human psychology, what is not similar to you scares you and your response to it comes out in form or either isolation or bullying. Kids do it openly and adults do it on the sly. You have as many colorful slangs for whites, browns, blacks in all the geographies of the worlds where those colors are a rarity. As a matter of fact it exists even in same color neighbourhodds too possibly at a more granular level, depending on religious ideology, economic status, family orientation, regional ethniticity etc. It can only be solved by extensive travelling amongst people and cultures. That is what i have observed is the real probable solution.
