I have a couple old, trailer sailers with some fiberglass damage and in need of paint thereafter. Watching you gives great information and hope! Any product or spec suggestions for fiberglass, sheets, or that fine paint (that just rolled on!!). If you already covered that in past episodes, I'll try to track it down. Thanks & keep making memories!
I believe there's a tape that has a wire in it that cuts as it's removed. They use it on bed liners for truck beds that are sprayed in. Check it out. Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Syd, nice job hiding it, didn’t know till it fell out! Plus I work with a lot of 20ishs and most are like yeah I had them pierced I was in college! Lol
Well done, Ty! We are refitting our boat and Dauntless is not only an inspiration, you are a DIY how to do correctly! Thank you for sharing your insight and knowledge! TYs Pro Tips super cut please, Sid! ♥️✌🏼⛵️
We used the ALEXSEAL Top Coat in the shade Cloud White. We also used the roll additive and top coat accelerator. We only used the roll additive on the smooth surfaces, not the areas that we put the non-skid, and we used accelerator over the whole project. The non-skid we used is called Softsand: amzn.to/3wEAZ2M
My preferred nonskid as well. The new owners should appreciate your attention to details. Me buying new, or old no such considerations have ever been shown to me. Making a new to you boat "your own" is stressful enough.
For me, this episode is very timely. I am fixing up a very small sailboat (Sunfish) and I need to figure out an option for a non-skid seating area. I don't want to tear up my legs or swimsuit, but I don't want to be sliding around either. Do you think this would be comfortable as a seating surface?
It’s not bad but if you do slide it will possibly snag a swimsuit. You can use the fine grit ( we used medium) also you can add more layers of paint to bury the nonskid deeper and thus make it less abrasive
Good job Ty. However, seems like alot of work for a boat that's on the market. That time and $$$ could have been put toward the 50. New owners probably going to refit anyway. Well another informative video. Loved the hockey pucks. Did they put the level off aft on the solar array? Carry on Crew.
Thank you. We are finishing what we started so the new owners have a sail ready vessel. Just seemed like the right thing to do. I built the array to sit level after the pucks were added so now it’s perfectly level.
Hi I don't know if this Help But I all so Watch Parlay they got Caught in a bad Squall while sailing there Boat and they Keep there Dingy in the same Place and it filled with Water I don't know if your Dingy has water bungs if it don't then you need a Cover for it Great Vlog thank you
I've really enjoyed the videos of repair of the hulls of the catamaran. I do want to kindly give my opinion of the later videos: There is an awful lot of explaining of the process about to be done, sometimes I just leave the room while it is playing (I did). When you do get to the work, there is another explanation as it is done (the halyard is holding up the stanchion).....As the work progress, it is explained again. This 30 minute video could have been an enjoyable 10 to 15 minute one. (Count how many times you mention the halyard is holding up the post/stanchion.) If the second half repeats what is said in the first half, why post such a long video? Not trying to be mean or a hater, just wondering if you see what I'm talking about.
👍☑️ kinda boring to watch so must be painful for you guys to go through. I have done this but was so long ago I don't remember the time it took just the final wonderful non-slip deck but of course your job is better looking than what I did LOL. Tks for the video.
You guys have lost me ,are you flipping boats or selling your boat you spent months repairing so you can buy a new boat. Some where I've lost what you are going to be doing.
We are finishing the projects we started on the Lagoon (our first boat) and then selling her. We will then switch focus to the Leopard which will be our new home.
Damn... When her ring hit the deck her face expression was priceless.. Great video
Great job with the non skid👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Mike!
23:32 Ty is like the Bob Ross of boat repairs!
Remember they’re not mistakes just happy little accidents. 😁
:) Can see mom putting that on Tic Tok Syd lol Made me Smile as i have 4 Daughters . Great Vlog Guys.
The man of culture thanks Sydney for her testing of the nonskid !

Very nice job Dauntless crew!! Looks sharp! 👍👍👌👌👏👏
Awesome work done team...!!! Loved the final look!! Loads of love from India...!!
Thank you! We love it too!
Omg, the piercing had me on the floor dying. My husband was like, what happened? Oh never mind babe, nothing. 😝 ha ha
Haha I'm glad you enjoyed that! I really debated keeping it in the video, but it was just so funny I had to include it!😂
1000% keep it in there. The best parts of all the sailing channel videos are the real, unscripted, goofs.
@@SailingDauntless too funny not to keep !!!
💥 💥 bam!👍🏼
great finish . interested to see how it wears
I thought it was cereal at first, lol
Rainy season came early this year lol we were saying the same on the west coast of FL
OMG, I thought you were going to say ( this vacuum sucks )
You started removing sand from the boat e you finished throwing sand on it 🤣
👍
Looks great! Will you be doing a similar treatment to D2?
Thanks! Unfortunately no, but the new boat has flexiteak so we can just sand it with a coarse grit to create more traction
What type of paint & non slip stuff did you use. I want to do my dad's swim platform over

So true!
How do you know what the feeling of jail is like? Just wondering...
🤣
Freaking hilarious 😆
Is that special sand? Can you use normal beach sand?

It would have looked better if you put composite deck on it
why is it that when you are doing something you have to chat on before you do the work as then the episode is ended how real is that
Great work, but why all this unnecessary work on a boat that is for sale?
