My hat off to all marching bands whether highschool or college. These musicians work their behinds off to not only learn their music and the choreography as well. Those who criticize are usually the ones that have never marched before. It can take years of dedicated work and bonding as a family to reach the level of perfection that these bands have done regardless of size or the volume of their music. When most kids are enjoying their school break band members are busy perfecting their shows sometimes practicing upwards of 10 to 12 hours a day. I only know this because my daughter marches for our local highschool and these students have a level of passion that can't be put into words.😁
I have played for years these musicians today are awesome. The presentation the uniformity the dynamic. They demonstrated great technic great expression. The example of how the rudiments are played when put together the correct way KUDOS TO ALL THE DRUMMERS IN A PROGRESSIVE DRUM LINE TODAY.
Alex Ross If OSU tried to do the same show as the Aggie band does, you and all the other fans would go crazy for them and love it just as much because it's your band, that's just how it is. If the Aggie band practiced making pictures instead of traditional military marching, we could get the same 14 million youtube views....but what's important here is that each band has a unique style that their fans love because it's something to call their own.
Pathetic. Simple music and maneuvers, that a high school age drum and bugle corps could march into the ground. To be fair, these are college students, supposedly working on degrees. If you have more than 125 on the field, that's too many. My own high school marching band did better And being in a competition champion band, playing for the NFL, NE Patriots, these guys SUCK! And you're easily pleased. I'm very sorry. there really is better, and kids really work hard at it.
It's one thing to watch them on TH-cam but I had the pleasure of spending a day with the band a few days ago as part of the Spend the Night with the Corps program. All I can say is that I am more eager than ever to join their ranks.
Too many negative comments. I'm actually glad that there is still a military style band like this at a university. It might not be crowd-friendly like the Big Ten college bands or have interesting sets like drum corps, but they've chosen to keep tradition and it separates them from other bands.
+J. Marie id say it was a cool drill. it wasnt really as good as i expected (like something intense and epic) but it was still good. just the title was misleading...it was a drill not...really a show...
+J. Marie and how in god knows why, and man i do not know, did OSU get into this?! its a video game and marching band is a musical sport, it has no relevance whatsoever. you can tell me that the only thing relevant is that they both have music but its still irrelevant from a Computer Game to a Field Sport.
I just know if I was in a band like this that somehow I would manage to screw up the routine by walking the wrong way! Great precision, practice and music!😀😀😀
Class of '56. Gig 'em. I was privileged to see the band often. Loved every minute. These young men and women have made this the best of all college/university bands. Still get chills when they start up with Hullabaloo. Other schools have to envy these great students.
Aren't they marvelous, my goodness, the perfection, the dedication and the music...excellently done! Conratulations to the music teacher than wants high standards which will help them in life and work from now on!
To all the people that are hating right now, I'm sure half of you don't even know how to play an instrument, and to the other half of you, you don't know how to appreciate a truly good marching band. Granted that this is not my style of marching, I am more of a core style marching person, but to the people who are posting negative comments on here you have no idea the amount of dedication those young adults put forth. And if any of you are in marching band and hating... shame on you
Ive always wanted our high school to do a band ' reunion, and have members from 1972 on up to participate in a halftime show! I still have my trumpet my Mother bought for me in 1975, when I was a 5th grader. It looks rough, but still plays. My case burned in a house fire in 1977, and I was never able to get another one.
Interesting enough, they are the only band in the country that can perform the double minstrel turn. Many have tried but can't figure it out. The turn was created by a high school band instructor, Jack Herweg, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska back in the early 70"s. Many band leaders contacted Herweg wanting to know how to do it over the years, but he did not share it. This Texas band leader finally figured it out on his own. Herweg attended many A&M football games over the years just to watch his double minstrel performed. He is gone now but his infamous double minstrel turn lives on!!
People who are saying this is boring don't really understand military music and precision. Granted, this is a college but they are executing the military styles that military bands around the world have done for hundreds of years. This form of tradition deserves appreciation.
It's definitely really impressive and you have to respect it. But compared to some other bands it really is boring. There's a reason this type of band kind of phased out.
How dumb would it be for a military band like the Aggie Band to make moving stick figures and playing pop songs. You're right. Folks don't understand what it takes to do military style marching.
BandNerdcp To me, listening to halftime tributes to the Star Wars is not my idea of what a marching band should be. But hey, whatever floats your proverbial boat. You keep "Thriller," and we'll stick with the "Strategic Air Command March."
Wow. The step off where they march out of the initial rectangle looked AWESOME! Quite impressed. Yes I'm impartial to another amazing marching band, but I have to give props to a very impressive step off performed by this band! The periodic maneuvers within the ranks also performed stellar. If you haven't marched in a band before, that is a very hard thing to do especially with their size. Kudos you guys. Looks very awesome!
And when I was in Navy boot camp, we couldn’t stay in step just marching without instruments and playing them at the same time like these guys are doing. Kudos.
That was incredible,I played in pipe bands and it's really hard to do formations and keep playing keep in step and remember every manoeuvre just brilliant
*I'M IMPRESSED!* :) I played the Trumpet mumble-mumble years ago, and I know a good band when I hear it. Happy to vote "like". (I note 867 kazoo players have voted "dislike".)
I'm a marching band member at my High School and let me say, this is some of the best marching I've ever seen. As I was watching this, I noticed the almost perfect diagonals and some really complicated movements. I'm a fan just from this video. A note to haters: please try marching dots like we do, please try to be uniform and look perfect like this band. Then we'll see if you can still say marching band is easy.
Just watched "best drum line video ever" ( that's the name of the video clip ). Those guys I believe are from Sweden. While this video was great and you can tell you guys practice a lot, these guys are like river dance 💃 only with drums and a skill unlike anything else I've ever seen before. They're phenomenal! Thanks for sharing.
If you are a true bandsmen, you don't hate on other bands. Each band has their own style, and each band has something special about them in which to be proud. I'm just happy to see a college that participates in the half time show.
Carly Anderson thanks for having some common sense bro we need that in our lives ounce a band member always part of the band family.......... That was worded badly And know that I say it out loud I don’t know why I said it
Loving this-they've kicked the tempo up a shade and are doing some different formations, Was in the Marching Razorbacks 1966-1969 and they didn't show this much variety. Since 1970-I don't watch the halftime shows.
amazing very amazing so much precision i am a firm believer in good half time shows and i am sure you pulled it off very good job if they have a national or state competition you sure done well i am a lover of dance teams and sometimes i am wondering how they can fit in with the half time shows?....
I've watch video's of most all notable college bands and have seen many great ones. These guys move with a precision of fluid motion like no others. Of course it's different than most because it's military style and I think plays a big part of their precision. The young ladies and gentleman represent much more than a college or a military band.
I have to say something because there are so many ignorant comments on this video. People need to appreciate what this band is doing and all the hard work that goes into making a drill like this. The Aggie Band is a military style marching band and can not be compared to other university marching bands such as Ohio State, it's like comparing apples to oranges.
OHIO STATE ! THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND! These A&Mers fall asleep at night wishing they were Buckeyes ! "We just want a football program that can do our band proud". NCAA Championship coach Jim Tressel. You have TAKE what's ours... we don't give it away.
I like both military, non military, and swave, and more types of marching bands. I like enjoying different tastes. Cause each taste has a piece of style that is always enjoyable for me to see. So, go Aggie.~ And all others whom take the time to master their style.~~
Unless you've been in marching band, you have no idea how difficult it is to march in step, play an instrument and keep in formation...straight lines are the most difficult. Kudos to the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band...well done!!
This is really cool! It's funny to think many college bands and drum corps actually started out doing this military band style, and now almost everyone has moved away from this style except Texas A&M. Seriously, I dig this. I'm from the NC State University marching band, and it's really cool to see how much variety there is in the college band world compared to drum corps and high school band (with some exceptions of course! I don't want to get comment assaulted for saying that haha. I am aware there are exceptions, I'm just saying in general). I mean, you pretty much have Texas A&M on one end, Stanford on the other, and literally everything else in between.
finally. a camera angle and width and height that lets us see what spectator sees! soccer and football cameramen take note: the perspective is of the team effort not that of an individual! and the cameraman is NOT on Ritalin so as to change zoom and angle every second.

This happens to be my former school, It's not in the United states, but rather in Jamaica. Every member of that band is between the age of 15 yrs and 19 yrs old.
Clay, I am incredibly impressed! People like the ones who made the negative comments are going to be like that. WOW, simply AMAZING!! I don't understand why so many people give them a thumbs down. I could watch them all night. JUST AWESOME!!
no you couldnt, OSU you could lol

Mahthias Fountain Look up anything DCI related.
jealousy
Those students and staff are Amazing! My hats off to those who can accomplish such challenging tasks and make it look flawless

J. Marie Are you kidding me everyone loves the band at A&M. We always stand up for them
Joel Zapata I'm talking about the youtube comments from kids who watch too many videos of OSU.
Ya I guess I agree with you then. Our band is different. Not everyone's cup of tea but it is great at what it does.
+J. Marie id say it was a cool drill. it wasnt really as good as i expected (like something intense and epic) but it was still good. just the title was misleading...it was a drill not...really a show...

What a spectacular show the choreography on display by this band I certainly enjoyed it first class
I attended the University of Texas and I dig this Aggie band.
I just know if I was in a band like this that somehow I would manage to screw up the routine by walking the wrong way! Great precision, practice and music!😀😀😀
It gives me goosebumps when I hear the crowd echoing the announcer in the beginning.
Everything is Big in Texas and this is the Biggest Best Band. Love this, everyone is dedicated. This is Awesome, Thank You . You Rock!!!
I absolutely love the Texas band They are watched in Europe and people are amazed at their talent.
Thanks! However,...the Texas A&M band! Whoop!
They r on my bucket list to see live and in person!
I wondered what so many members could do. I am amazed at the ingenuity of their formations. Bravo!
Class of '56. Gig 'em. I was privileged to see the band often. Loved every minute. These young men and women have made this the best of all college/university bands. Still get chills when they start up with Hullabaloo. Other schools have to envy these great students.
I used to do this in high school and it's not easy to play and march at the same time! But this is over the top!!
Aren't they marvelous, my goodness, the perfection, the dedication and the music...excellently done! Conratulations to the music teacher than wants high standards which will help them in life and work from now on!

play an iinstrument, alto sax, and was in marching band. this was unentertaining. i cry at osu's performances cause they are well beautiful
no disrespect but even if u are in marching band like me we can think another band is boring and unentertaining

Amazing Texas bands…7/2023 and seeing this, wow! ❤
Hi from New Zealand. Totally awesome. Thanks for sharing .
Outstanding marching band performance. Hats off to all HS and college students who serve in the marching band🎉
What memories! Been watching them for over 63 years. They are the best!
The half time show was totally awesome. We have never seen anything like it. I wanted to go back to school!!!! at Texas A&M!
so amazing ! always brings tears to my eyes !
This was incredible. Don't anybody ever doubt the unity of America!
People who are saying this is boring don't really understand military music and precision. Granted, this is a college but they are executing the military styles that military bands around the world have done for hundreds of years. This form of tradition deserves appreciation.

I stumbled onto this video,I was amazed, your marching band is superb. Great job.

Simply...the BEST....Perfection every time! Gig'em Aggies
all the moves and they did not missed a note fantastic
¡¡Magnífico!! Es lo que se consigue con disciplina y esfuerzo. Os felicito y admiro.
I love the Aggie Band has it's own announcer for "play by play" :-) Always a great job. Their sound quality is fantastic.
Wow that was amazing never seen or heard of them before. Love from UK ❤
And when I was in Navy boot camp, we couldn’t stay in step just marching without instruments and playing them at the same time like these guys are doing. Kudos.
Always proud to be a fellow Texan, I live in tenn now, they could not hold a candle to this troup. Hard work does pay off.
Watching from Australia! FANTASTIC!!!❤️🌹
That was incredible,I played in pipe bands and it's really hard to do formations and keep playing keep in step and remember every manoeuvre just brilliant
What a gem to find this! These people are the epitome of taking responsibility for their own behaviour!
That was Amazing.
This is 12 years ago😅
But glad to see this. I didnt have a cellphone back then.
Thank you for showing this. ❤

This band is awesome plain and simple
I probably don't know a great deal about marching bands but I thought they were brilliant. Thank you.
Best band,,,,,by far the most difficult maneuvers of any band in the country.
They sre great too. It's amassing how they can march like that and not get lost
Fabulous. There's no other word for it. Just fabulous.
That program must have taken a LOT of dedication and practice! Great show!!
Congratulations Jay on many years of success with the band. Good luck in retirement.
the tradition and the compn circumstance to go with a band is like none other

And no one left their seats. Now thats well deserved spirit and respect. Well done.
Texas A&M tradition is that students stand the entire game and performance!

That was worded badly
And know that I say it out loud I don’t know why I said it
Wow! That must take a LOT of practice to look so perfect!
I am a UT alum and miss watching the AM band more than ever.
I admire the precision and the discipline to maintain the formation.
Loving this-they've kicked the tempo up a shade and are doing some different formations, Was in the Marching Razorbacks 1966-1969 and they didn't show this much variety. Since 1970-I don't watch the halftime shows.

holy shit, that was absolutely incredible!!!
Stunning, if only our congress in the Swampland of Washington D.C. could do this. March as a team!!!!!!!!!!

Simply delightful! But I like Wolverine Band!
Aren't they just fabulous?! Best in the world!
best formation I have seen in a long time ago thumbs up^
Unless you've been in marching band, you have no idea how difficult it is to march in step, play an instrument and keep in formation...straight lines are the most difficult. Kudos to the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band...well done!!
My head wont allow me to believe this. Incredible
Military-Style traditional marching looks incredible when done well (E.G. Aggie Band), especially adapted for the University Marching Band
This is really cool! It's funny to think many college bands and drum corps actually started out doing this military band style, and now almost everyone has moved away from this style except Texas A&M. they are so awesome, best band i ever seen.
NightOwl to
That's alot of hours of practice on that field!! Wow!!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
I really wished for half-time, the marching bands were back in football!
NFL! sorry!
