    Brad Scott is an intelligent guy and I’m glad he’s our senior coach. Brings a sense of surety in that he knows what he’s doing.

    When the appointment was made, I was angry about it. I never rated Brad Scott. I became more objective when I considered his role at the AFL and started to listen to what he was saying. Didn't take that long for me to realise he was perfect for the bombers. High expectations of standards across the board and always impressed by how up front he is. Definitely the adult and leader that Essendon needed.

      I don’t know tbh. Made the prelim, semi finals, multiple finals and still had a positive win percentage with North Melbourne. North Melbourne’s list was very poor compared to other lists too.

      @@jc.torrijos yeah he did well with that North team. Sometimes there are just 1-2 more talented teams than you. But he put them into contention year after year.
      I'd assume he is an even better coach now. Older, wiser, more experienced.
      He's also a strong enough character to rise above all of Essendons internal politics.

    For the first time in a long time Essendon seem to have a plan for the future that isn't in question by the entire AFL which is awesome to see. Feels like the first actual chance at a fresh start since the whole ASADA stuff began a decade ago.

    • @tin-n-tan
      @tin-n-tan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think people just underestimate how big the ASADA thing was. It's not a surprise at all that they've been garbage ever since, it was a massive penalty and just ruined careers and tore the club apart. When you consider how many things you need to go right to compete, let alone win silverware, they were starting from a mile back.

    I wanted Brad Scott even before they announced they were looking for a new coach. So I’m glad my wishes came true. It was like god was listening to my desire. I didn’t trust Sheeds and I don’t trust Hird..they are the past and have pulled my club down a lot. Both of them. I wanted Brad because he has fire in his guts and his brother is successful as well. I never trusted the previous coaches we hired which is why I didn’t want to watch them play coz I knew the 3 previous coaches were going to fail. I was right in the end. But I kept it a secret from everyone including Essendon. The key right now as Brad said is patience, stability and taking it one step at time as well as working hard to be successful. As an Essendon player said recently “our new coach is like a breath of fresh air”. .. Wow!
