Don't think I would be happy with £300 boots and stitching coming undone already! I've had some O'Neal Sierra pro boots for over a year now and still solid and we're £180. Super comfortable and waterproof
I use the Gaerne 12s which are getting more comfortable as I wear them in. Not waterproof, but I wear seal skins because I work on the principle that water will eventually get over the top anyway and a wet goretex boot is no better than a wet non-goretex boot.
Love my Gaerne Dakars, a great lightweight waterproof tourer with a little extra reinforcement. It's like putting slippers on after wearing my stompy MX guys around.
Been looking for a new boot with some actual grip on the sole and you can walk in, my current Alpinestars are very comfortable (when riding) and waterproof, but there's no grip and the are not fun to walk in. Might give these a go.
It'll do, won't it? No, not for me. £330 and the falter at the first hurdle......Get them swapped over Nathan, then we'll know if it's a one off problem, or a design issue.
See where the lower strap is stitched in under the leather? That strap will tear off easily as the needle has neatly perforated the plastic strap. These boots look very much like my pair of Forma boots and a couple of those straps have failed in that manner in quick time. Good luck with yours.
I think that the most amazing thing about this vid is: 2:02 we went to Ireland and didnt get any rain!
They look good. I know my Forma Adventure Lows are waterproof because every time I fill them with water, they stay full. 😅

Super comfortable and waterproof
They do look good value those. Glad they're working out
thanks for the vid. I"ve been using them for more roady rides for about a year and I love them.
Yeah, have almost the same boot from same manufacturer … I like them too … comfortable and they do a fairly good job staying dry! Thanks Nate!!

Excellent point
A wet Goretex boot is actually much worse….they take forever for the inside to dry out due to the gtx lining👍
What no rain in Ireland no way. 8 days.
Just come off in the TET. Glad I had my Leatt 4.5s on.
I still think my ankle is broken...off for an x-ray.
Look good. Try some silicone spray for the squeak!
Just bought some Gaerne Fastbacks. Beautiful boots. Lovely jubbly

I’ll second that about boots. I normally wear sealskinz socks as well, to doubly protect my pinkies. 👍😁
Sorry, i misheard you...' we went to Ireland 🇮🇪 and had no rain ' ...😂😂.
Be interesting to know if they can be resoled
Look great boots and a good comromise.
I need a wide fitting boot. Are Gaernes a wide fit and are the true to size??
😊👍

Sidi adventure 2 have been brilliant for me over 4 years all round use, still squeak like a bastard.
Can't wait for Iceland.
EDITED: gearnes too small on the calves for me, so went with the Alpinestars Corozal Adventure Drystar as they fitted my calves.
You'll need some new "adventure" socks to go with them too Nathan.😂😂😂
5 for a tenner at Tesco!

Broken stitching on a new £330 boot is not a great start, but I bet SBS will want to know about it and will do something about it.

Too busy wearing them to be honest to swap them out. @@DontuseGoogleorWiki
My TCX Drifters leak 😬💦 Interested to hear about how Gaerne’s hold up.
Yeah mine did after less than a year. Not great.

Will see how they go. The straps are the same construction as the All Terrains which I've not had a problem with, so will see how they go
Hi,
just wondering if can can recommend a good pair of trail / green lane motorcycle pants, at a reasonable price.

Drying boots. Boil some rocks. Pop them in your boots overnight. SORTED
Guess that'll work on walking boots too - great tip.
i use alpinestars mx boots very stiff so not easy to walk in and there not water proof but my socks are
