We just had a spring like that here in NZ 🇳🇿. Cows were in a bit of a negative energy balance going into mating because the grass had no substance. We mowed in front to try and increase dry matter intake, also keeping the grain up a bit even though we had loads of grass.
@@milkingwithrich i dont think you are wrong,here in lincs,been wet,small amounts of spring cereal drilled even less beat drilled,5 wks late,no real signs of weather improving much yet.

What will increase milk prices? Reducing production across the UK dairy herd? What do you think?
This spring will help pull production back. And next winter the silage quality isn't going to be as good.
