Another good one. Beautiful, relaxing sail. Looks like Kate has mastered the bread saga. Hope Tahiti turns out to be a lot of fun and not too much work. Keep having fun and stay safe. Bill
Sailing to Tahiti is the epitome of a dream adventure. Your journey embodies the spirit of exploration and the pursuit of paradise. The way you share this incredible experience, with all its beauty and challenges, showcases your passion for sailing and your love for the open sea. Your story inspires others to chase their dreams and embrace the wonders of the world. And I am Floating Village Life.
Nice soundtrack. Love the mix of footage and music. Perfect for the dream coming true of sailing and arriving in Tahiti. Hope the play hard on the island will fill you with great memories.
Hi from sunny England, just watching your journey to tahiti the very best thing about your video is the feel good factor you send to us daydreamers just starting on our own new adventure keep yours going 😊😊
What a life although we don’t see all the hard work behind the scenes, I love your dog 🐕 he seems a bit slow is he getting old hope he is well. You both seem very able at sailing and the bread looked fantastic your partner is a very lucky man. This is my first time seeing your program 😢😢 thanks for a great video and I look forward to watching from now on so thank you both and the lovely 🐕 Jon🇦🇺🤗🤗🛟🛟
Lots of really sweet moments shown ... I especially liked the bread making in a seaway scene ... one nice one piece! Sorry about your bad Hair Day Curtis ... catch you next time?
Love your sailing photography, the set up, content and execution is very professional. The narration is concise making the videos enjoyable to watch. Many other utube sailing channels could pick up some pointers from you.
Enjoyed watching my first video with you guys start off nice and easy. Will have fun in the future. I miss the water. I haven’t been out for a while. I am in Canada right now. Anyway cheers from Blake.
Nice sailing , downwind fix the boom with uphauler and line to front and back so the end of the boom stays fixed. Use the end of the boom of the main to fix the other sail the same way, Foresee easy way to loosen quickly if needed. Always enjoining your trips ❤ Grts from Belgium
Curtis is missing the Port Huron to Mackinaw race this weekend ( or did you take time off and come home??? ) anyway it is an excellent weekend for the race with with 316 boat’s registered… Thanks for all your videos… John and Penny, Ontario, Canada
for bread making or pizza crust making....I've found it best if you water to mix with the yeast is around 110 degrees F. dough always doubles in 1 hour, I use a thermometer to arrive at a good temp
“Let’s see if Curtis can generate into the tight area of the slip? This was a joke…..right. 🤗 😜 So………Tahiti‼️👍🏻 You guys made it. Quite the change from the waters of Patagonia and the atolls. Enjoy. See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨
Please this comment is provided purely at your request for feedback on running square with two headsails> Guys - just a thing - when you are flying sails off a pole ( particularly, really good sails as you have) the most destructive thing you can do is not properly suspend the pole - with a topper and a kicker. leech curl ultimately destroys a sail, headsails specifically that is. by allowing the pole to bounce as the sail loads and unloads - will only increase the rate with which the sail wears and stretches the leech. (essentially the difference in static load vs dynamic shock loading)
I sailed throughout the whole Caribbean around the horn of South America from Seattle did it for nine years, and I’m telling you it was great, but it was a ton of work, and you better have a great partner with you which I did 70 foot sailboat handle most of the storms we got wrecked a couple times but we fixed things but it is a ton of work probably like about half the time I was out there
The boat looked like it handled being pulled along by the bow just fine , a bit like sailing a catboat the only issue is the keel never locks in and lifts so it a bit of a rocking horse side to side.
I just wanted to let you know that it is sometimes a good idea to cook with more clothes on especially when cooking with fluids on boats. Ask me how I know....Anyway bread is pretty safe, but soups, coffee, stews...I suggest you folks put on more clothes even if it is a million degrees in the boat. Anything that might come out of the container and stick to you is bad news.
Exactly!! It’s cute and all to be doing the whole sexy poses etc lol but it’s not sexy to have oil burn scars down your abdomen/legs etc cuz it’s very painful!
Kate great job in the galley - working on the way making excellent food is not easy. Proposal for a new cooking show - Gourmet cooking with Kate in 40 knots of wind in Sweet Ruca, first episode "Kates view on the French Classics Bouillabaisse and Tarte Tatin.
You guys need to visit Bora Bora . I've been 2x. Most beautiful tropical place in the world. The Pacific is known for huge waves.you'rethere in time for olympic surfing.
How is all the video recording and sailing working out for you? I would rather enjoy just the sailing yet the extra income that you can get from this would be nice. So basically, how is the juggling between relaxing time and work work out?
Homemade Breads a very great way to save money and avoid all the garbage that goes into processed bread. Every sailor knows how to make bread lol the ingredients in bulk are way cheaper and sometimes it’s all you have to eat on long sails lol
Tahiti got lots of cash come here. Nice to see you pass those cabins that cost like one or two grand a day to stay in. Enjoy for lots less. Loved the proper one piece not the ones that go up(what do you call something that holds water) HAHAHA
I like your method of sailing on a mono hull but a catamaran has a very different sail plan and no spinnaker poles. I think sometime in 2025 I'll be starting to build a Cyber 48 and if we ever end up seeing each other in an anchorage, we can discuss the difference and take you for a sail so that you can experience that difference if your interested in doing something like that.
Hey guys was just watching this after running across it and wanted to tell you an observation at 12:35-39 minutes/seconds into video the shot of your life raft as you’re filming to stern, it appears to not be secured completely into its holders please double check it! You wouldn’t want to loose it if n rough seas then need it or have the expense of replacing it! It looks like it’s slipping down and out of the binder. Otherwise nice you’re experimenting with different sails etc! French Polynesia is a beautiful place to sail but you need a year to see it all lol! Your dog is beautiful but very very uncomfortable without full length deep cushion under it on the bench in cockpit ! Get some 4-6 inch foam and a nice sheepskin cover for it that zips on and off for washing it’ll keep her/him cool and cushion his/her elbows!! And tip on the bread not rising, wheats that way but wrap it in a dish cloth on the counter instead of leaving it in the pot with a lid !! Great job on the sail out of the pass! DDW sailing is the best lol but yes can be total chop!!
Arriving at Tahiti seemed anticlimactic. Maybe it’s just me and my, admittedly, romanticized vision of Tahiti but I think it would be more exciting than presented.
You generally need a vet checked paper less than 3-6 months old and some places require quarantine for the pet or ban them from entering land altogether also of course current shots some shots are required same as say in the usa some are not
@@SailingSweetRuca Love the J-boats, we looked for ages for a good one, ended up with your Jutson 50 instead. Happy sailing and thanks for sharing your video's
I left marina Taina on June 4th this year. That was my fourth visit. The marina and Papeete in general is looking very scruffy & run down. The attitude toward cruisers from some of the locals is hostile. I wont be returning. So much of the South Pacific is great to visit...no more Tahiti for me.
Far, far away from Puerto Williams ! So long ! And beware ! I'm afraid of this chain near your barefoots ! I'd like to .. meet you again. But my boat is 30' and I'm busy in France ..

Another great sailing video , thought I could smell the bread cooking then realised I had bread in the toaster , almost to late to salvage lol
Haha too funny!

Looking good!
Thank you! Cheers!
Light air I'd wing out the main with vang and preventer and poll out the jib.

With my cutter I sail downwind wing on wing on wing. Jib and main one side, staysl with whisker pole to the other.
You know what goes well with wing-on-wing sailing? A recliner in the cockpit.
Right on!!! 👍

12:33 is the exact time your life raft appears in the video * correction
Would have been nice to see a real spinnaker or even a spannaker in such an ideal condition. Goose winging is great too.
We normally always prefer to send it and launch the kite also, but sometimes a more cruisy approach allows a bit of much needed relaxation.
Thanks!!👍👍
You ain't gonna hurt that boat. That's what she's made for.
Arriving at Tahiti seemed anticlimactic. Maybe it’s just me and my, admittedly, romanticized vision of Tahiti but I think it would be more exciting than presented.
DDW ... Wing-on Wing ... Main & Jib
What is needed regarding the dog when entering each new country - a lot of planning before?
Also curious about this!
It is not a dog, she's an old seadog, a crew member....

I don't like sailing dead down wind... Too much rolling and flapping in the sails.. 😂
Then you’re not using the right sail/sail combo for your boat!
