He doesn't solo because he has way to much respect for Mark, leaving him to solo whenever he wants. They are very close friends, it's just natural that he seems comfortable with Mark. They're both guitar gods! :)
@@NoOne-kr4jc Have you seen how often Clapton backs knofler and vice versa, if you do your research then you will find that they play together OFTEN, but you obv haven't done any homework on the both of them as friends as well as partners on stage..

I'm 65 year old girl, & still playing air guitar ,dancing & singing. Thank you to the Music Giod's for all the amazing music I grew up on & fed off.

I saw the 1988 tour when they played Nassau Colisseum in New York. It was AWESOME and this video really captures it. I was in college and didn't know my ass from my elbow back then -- at least I was smart enough to know that I was seeing two music legends. Great video!
Love how they utilize the chords from "Rainy Day Women" (by Bob Dylan) to get locked in sync with one another. A total of 5 times before stepping to the mics.

From what I've heard, Mark Knopfler is one of the nicest guys in the music industry.
I met him and he was a bit of a twat. Others have said that too.
