Thank you. All data has nothing on how to remove and install the valve body in the this transmission, your video bailed me out. One thing I did I use that ATP transmission assembly blue lube to stick those valve spring cups in place while I put it back in, kept them in place just fine and that stuff is made to melt into the trans oil without any issues.
Was needing to know if you had to reprogram it or reset anything after doing this I have a 06 Kia Spectra that I'm going to be doing the valve body on soon.
This video is absolutely amazing. I’ve currently pulled my auto box apart and separated the 2 parts of the valve body. But 2 ball bearings had come out and I’ve no idea where from. Suggestions?
I recently took mine out to switch solenoids and the car ran great for 3 days but all of the sudden yesterday we got back in the car went to leave the store and its not recognizing any gears...??? The shifter will move into each gear but the car doesn't go anywhere when you push the gas..... What did i do wrong???
What is the arrangement of the springs with the yellow base, when removing the valve box they fell and I did not see their place. Help please as I can not assemble the box
Hey I've been following you and I love how you explain everything so clearly and with such attention to detail. Truth is I own a 2011 i30 that was not working when I bought it.. wrong ECU.. long short I'm not getting reverse properly.. i have to rev to 1500 - 2000 rpm then it would move but it has very little power.ive pulled out the transmission and checked everything..put it back in.. I just changed the range sensor but still no luck.. I'm not getting a CEL but when I scanned I got a u0100 code..I just need some guidance..its been 2 yrs now
hi, thanks...you may need to do line/pressure tests to see if you are getting correct pressures to clutches. you can also do an air pressure test when you remove valve body. some components like pump or worn valves can cause issues like you describe. and then it depends on what you did and didnt replace when you had it apart. we`ve found many ( even mechanics ) believe a trans rebuild is just seals/gaskets/clutches/rings , many forget to check bushings and housings for wear and pressure leaks. cheers
Is it possible to get only the selector in this valve body? Mine broke. Oit here in Africa Namibia. Can't find a spare selector. Agent charging me N$ 33000 For a new complete valve body
2010 elantra .... filthy fluid... shifting is slow at times.... getting off highway slow to shift down, slow to shift up from 2 to 3rd... seams to hit 1rst then 3rd.... I replaced solenoid pack.... did nothing now ordered rebuilt valve body but my question is the accumulator pistons.... should they be replaced??? if so where to order or what part to search for.... springs seem fine.... I question the the rubber rings.... Video is awesome! D
hi, sounds like it has been under serviced or high mileage? might pay to air pressure test apply ports when you have vbody out. if trans has internal wear and pressure leaks, your repair might be unchanged or short lived. cheers
Good morning, my hyundai elantra 2008 frame fault code P0743 tcc solenoid or defective part number: "tsc128" which is the torque one they tell me, here my fault is when reaching a stop it comes out with little force and does not shift into second gear it seems It only advances with the first gear, the other changes do not come in, with the computer connected and operating that selenoid it gave a value of 0, and the oil is dirty, can I change the complete selenoid body and the oil and filter?
Suddenly at times the solenoid comes in. Could it be due to contamination or dirt? I say that it comes in because the changes come in with force and when the solenoid is deactivated it jumps and that's when I realize, it advances slowly when the selenoid is deactivated
Hello I'm from Canada. I love the thoroughness and tutorial video! I have a 2004 Sonata gls 2.7 V6. The ladt oil change the dealer no longer carried the SP3 oil and put in a Valvoline universal oil that was compatible. About 3-6 months later I am getting a jerking when the automatic transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd. I had changed my front and back motor mounts with after market and it did help for a bit and dudnt feel the hard shift, but the problem came back maybe because the mounts are taking a beatinf. It even happens in the Tiptronic mode. I find the hard shift is worse when driving 30km. If I accelerate fast until 3rd gear it is much less noticeable. I think because the pressure is greater. I am wondering if it is a fluid issue or a solenoid issue or something in the valve body? I would greatly appreciate your help. I am handy and do replace a lot of my own parts but never opened up a transmission before. Thanks in advance. I would be glad to contact you outside of youtube.
hi, always check all the basics first, even a weak or diminished battery or bad earths can add to issues.if you dont have any fault codes it could be leaking solenoids or even contaminated solenoids ? depending on mileage on trans, you could also have worn valve body...sometimes a valve body zip reseal kit can help improve the pressure wear. another thing that can help improve the fluid quality is a product called lubegard. they have a website. very hard to help diagnose like this. if you like to discuss more, contact me on our facebook link in description and bring/cost you some beers. cheers
thank you so much am working on a 2011 kia soul transmission valve body and i needed to know how those 4 sets of spring goes in the one am working on i think 2 of them carrys a big spring with a small one in the middle but il will watch the video again to get it right it was a pleasure watch your video
hi, the accum on its own has 2 springs, and the middle one has 2 springs, although i`m not sure if they have different tensions? we usually put back the same way we find them. cheers
Great job explaining everything. You’re definitely the most thorough best I’ve seen. Please keep up the great work. What’s your contact link or maybe you can shoot me a link to your email I have a couple questions about my kia. Thank again for your videos.

hi, best get a workshop manual and you will need specific coil heights and diameter measurements of springs. cheers

hi, make sure you bench test as many solenoids as is practical. often all the solenoids and sensors are contaminated with metallic debris. cheers
