Very lovely group as always...!! This judge was a sighthound fan just like me. ;3 My Saluki and I are thrilled with the results; I now have a very clear choice to root for tomorrow in BIS. If this pawsome young guy were to win, this would be an amazing year for our family...our Beagle already got represented with Westminster's winner!
I didnt expect to finish this but it was enthralling the whole way through! The commentators really added to the show. I especially liked the mini history lessons we got with many of the breeds. Great respect to all who competed; each one of those dogs was a supreme specimen of their respective breed and the result of years of dedication
loved the saluki whilst i was in there, but i dont know if he got tired, i did not think he moved as nice in the best in show ring as he did in the group...shame i was routing for him
I'm not an expert or anything so I may be wrong, but they left out a whole lot of spectacular hounds. Are coonhounds in a whole other show or something? Or are they just not fancy enough or something. So confused...
+Elizabeth Hudson All entered dogs show first against all of the same breed. One is selected as best of breed. All of the ones selected as best of breed go on to show against all dogs of the same group. The best of each group then go on to compete. If there was no Coonhound in group, there must have been none entered.
didn't realize the borzoi was THAT big luv it even more! I want a giant dog to jump around and adventure with and a smaller dog to play and snuggle with

You risk getting a lot of unnessecary hate. Kira .BorderCollie what are you talking about ,,,,, my dogs are not sickly bred, just shows you know nothing about the dogs in question, please email me and i will post you all my health check certificates for my breed and show you pictures of them out doing what they should do in the field, as usual ignorance leading over common sense
Yeah every owner say´s "Oh what sickely bred? My Pug is so healthy - it´s normal he breaths like that" - for example! I see sick dogs every day and the owners and Vets name it as Breed-description. Who thinks a Baset is healthy with the short legs and to long ears don´t know a thing about Health!
Kira .BorderCollie I agree with some dogs (Dachshund, Basset, etc) they are deformed and have been bred for looks and not health. Although there are dogs in the breed that are healthy themselves, but are deformed with how they are bred. Another thing I often see if the ring is overweight dogs. I despise ones that have no waist or muscle, these are hounds they are bred to work so they should be able to move without waddling and have defined muscles. With the Dachshund they were originally bred to be short legged, but not as short as they are now. I personally believe all dogs in the ring must first prove that they are able to complete the task they were bred to do and do so well without flaw. The original purpose of dogs being domesticate was for working and that should still be true for all dogs.

Saluki, more like a cat, if you ask me. They will have their revenge, if they have not been served right. A dog one has to respect in order to get along.

We have nine varieties of the dachshund. Standard, miniature and kaninchen. Long, smooth and wired hair.

Isn’t that ibizan hound underweight? You can clearly see the ribs and other bones. Idk if its healthy and just a feature of the breed!
It's a feature, they don't like to gain weight, high metabolism, and they don't over eat.

Well they only get the dogs that are entered into the competition not all dogs will get in it just depends on what they get.
