Excited for Crufts 2017?! 🐶🏆 Did you know you can watch all of Crufts live on TH-cam, including the Group Judging and Best In Show??!! You can watch Day 1 here 😀 bit.ly/CruftsLive1
I feel so bad for the Pekingese along with so many other breeds that are bred just for their extreme looks... I like Crufts in general, but some of these dogs are way too extreme for my taste and their own well being.
Come on, pick the Crested and the Iggy...!!!! What a pretty powderpuff! ^0^ ...Many congrats to the four winners, though. :) So happy for the toy terrier's young handler...what a little gentleman he is.
The leads may appear short but they are not, most dogs can be shown on a loose lead as many of these toys often are. They are never strangled or uncomfortable ....if they were they certainly would show themselves off like they do.
У судьи настолько важный вид, как будто он не собаку выбирает, которая ему больше нравится, а решает судьбу мира. Я конечно понимаю, что там крутятся деньги, но немного юмора не помешало бы
Who else was hoping for the young handler and the english toy terrier to rank 1~4 from beginning to end? I fell that they totally deserved it. Of course, every dog was great and i congratulate all of them, especially the winners.
The pekingese looks hideous. Poor thing can't breathe and can hardly move like a proper dog. I wonder if this one needs to sit on ice blocks too. Shame on the breeders and judges for selecting for more and more extreme features to satisfy their vanity at the expense of the health, mobility, and well being of the dogs.
It is obvious that you know absolutely nothing about Pekingese or their history as a breed. Perhaps you should educate yourself before making such stupid comments.
Jan Cooke wow LOL obviously someone needs to educate themselves and it isnt the original poster Next I'll be hearing German Shepherds in the show line have good backs along with pugs with good faces facepalms
Kadlin Mormont I actually wanted to comment how SAD that pekignese looked... Then I saw your comment and thought " So it isnt just me then!". That poor thing... such a SAD SAD SAD view... It blows my mind how he/she won BOB...
Wish they’d quit breeding super flat-faced stenotic nosed dogs without the ability to breathe, chew properly, clean their own back ends, regulate their own body temperature, or give birth without needing surgery for it (let alone not being able to mate their own) or needing eyelid and dental surgeries too early in life, etc etc.
Why ? because the pug is made wrong fore and aft- he isn't moving correctly and his topline shoulder and rear assembly reflects all of that. Disappointing for a show of this caliber.
Opinions are like assholes...and you are the latter. Pugs are a lap dog-bred for companions, actually- not working dogs as you said you were involved in. My dogs are actually very healthy examples of the breed..man made-yes, but not without thought and deliberation in the process. Trying to explain any of this to you is a waste of time, however, so I won't attempt to anymore. Go play somewhere else.
Laura Libner you weren’t worthy the reply back in 2015, when I won BEST Of BREED with my first pug bred by the late but never forgot Mary Hambelton, now I have many champion titles on my dogs and all health tested to the new 5 star health scheme myself and colleagues formulated, through the Breed Council that dog mr darcy you continue to inform us all he’s unsound or wrong is still going strong at 9 years old, and has won 4 best veterans in Show this year alone. . You wouldnt know a sound dog if it came up and bit you on the arse. Who are you? Where are you based, I don’t know yr name you mustn’t do well with yours or haven’t a clue. Jealousy is a terrible thing to suffer from my dear. And insult my dog you insult the very respected judges from U.K. and EUROPE that thought this dog worthy of many great wins. You insult his late breeder and you insult me the proud owner.
***** I hear that I upset you- it wasn't my intention to upset anyone...I wasn't saying he wasn't a "beautiful" dog, he just isn't a good example of the breed to represent good pug construction/ conformation at a dog show. But then a lot of them aren't. I was just surprised to see this animal as an example of the Best of Breed winner at Crufts. But it's a dog show- it's one persons opinion.
Yes I think that's very true, different countries do vary a lot in breed type- so what you see in one country, looks very different than another. One thing we are seeing a lot of in the US is rangier "taller" pugs, which isn't right, either. It's actually a very hard breed to get "right". I originally started 40+ years ago in fox terriers. Day and night! Pugs are so much easier to live with.
What's right and wrong is made up by a set of standards adopted and honed over the years/decades per the breed clubs. I won't attempt to enlighten you as you are too extreme in your ideas and choose to be closed off to understanding breeding pure bred dogs. I will only say that you do not breed animals knowingly that have genetic diseases...this is why genetic testing, etc, is important for breeders who have ethics.. it's like anything else, some care, some don't. Ignorance is NOT always bliss.... Peace

The Maltese is such a precious dog. So beautiful.

Wonderful memories no one person can ever take away, only wish I’d had time to tidy myself.
The Pekingese is soooo CUTE. If I was an angel I would bless all doggies 100% health , no matter how they were bred to look . :'(
Why are they holding the leash so short, it looks more like a puppet attached to strings than normal walking!
+Rimfaxe96 IKR!
+Rimfaxe96 this is show dog standards in training, as me myself am a Pomeranian Breeder, and soon to be producing and showing more Show pomeranians
I never liked toy breeds much *until* my boyfriend's pomeranian. That dog seriously changed my life.
ZappaZappa BabuBaburu poms are great toy breeds! the first dog I owned when I was about 4 was a black pomeranian.
Its for keeping the head high, my dogs father was a national champ and (im 12) im training him agility and beauty

Nice- always interesting to have "intelligent" "engaging' conversations with other individuals.. you are neither.
Have a nice day
Hi, I understand your opinion but please do not down the pug. I do not want to alter your opinion but please give it a chance

@@Bed8Biscuits I don't know much about breed standards, but your Pug looked very healthy and beautiful.
the pug is very problematic- so disappointing this example, for a pug!
Awful example of a pug! Yikes! Terrible!
why?
