    1. Such a beautiful little pen. Thanks for the show.
    2. Extra thanks for showing a pen that I could afford!
    3. I am surprised and disappointed that capping scratches the barrel. I will check my Kaweco Stainless Steel to see if it also is scratched.

      :D thank you so so much
      2024 we proposed to find great value also at less pricey writing instruments and I think we struck gold with Gravitas.
      Its not scratching in the way scratches are showing like up and down ... but its leaving a circle a mark there and I just had to point it out because people with find this maybe a make it or break it decision

    Be warned...Gravitas aren't shipping any pens. I ordered months ago and they still have not shipped. They refuse to respond to any communication as well. They are still happy to take orders but either they have over estimated their capabilities or they have gone bankrupt. The fact they are still taking your money without explaining is almost a scam.

      Forget about order from gravitas home page. I ordered a brass pocket on March 9 and am still waiting.
      You are better off buying from Pen Venture. Found that they are selling gravitas pens and took a chance that it may work, order confirmed May 29 and delivery took place yesterday June 4th. A bit more expensive due to shipping and taxes but 6 days from order to delivery beats 3 months waiting time.
      Lovely pen!

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that is not true - Gravitas is shipping, no one went bankrupt while expanding and growing over the capacity of actual shipping the orders - as for the scam thing, that is also very off and untrue

      So how do you explain no pen after 3 months and them ignoring all efforts to contact them?

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if its not lost it can show up if its lost contact them through the form/email/instagram account - dont use faul language or caps active so the email doesnt get flagged and gets into spam and try to see what is going on

    I love Gravitas pens. I met Ben at the Dutch Pen Show last year in Utrecht. He is such a nice guy and I love what he does. I already had the Pocket Fountain Pen - Raw Brass Skull and the Sentry Raw Copper. At his desk in Utrecht he had this amazing Quark Up in Zirconium. I immediately fell in love with it because it is tiny but becomes a full sized pen when posted (screw on) and has a really huge nib. And the feel of the Zirconium is wonderful. Ben is really a perfectionist.

      :D you and me both :D he is a great guy and a good person ... I really want to give it my best and help him with the retailing part and Im thankful that he trusted me with the opportunity. Quark zirconium is what I have as well :D

    Does this pen leak from the nib if it gets jostled and turned upside down in the pocket? i am constantly on my feet and squatting or on a knee and am also very frequently in use of a pen for filling out paperwork. I just don’t need it to leak on me due to the active nature of my job, as well as my need for a smaller pen that won’t weirdly place itself in a stint type position when crouched over. Would really enjoy this pen as long as it does not leak!

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well any pen if you jump and squat and move and shake it in your pocket will not leak but will have some droplets of ink in the cap, this is something that ive experience - some more some less but you just can t have a pen in your pocket, run a marathon and have it with no ink in the cap, unless you do this while no ink is in the pen. Leaking implies that there is something malfunctioning or cracked, I took this pocket pen with me most of the times and it behaved nice while not always having ink droplets in the cap - just as an advice - do this with a cartridge of ink inserted or using the provided cartridge converter and not eyedropper converted because this is where it will behave a lot better

      @moochiyama 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pen.venture Very grateful for your response! Answered my question as I needed it answered to make my decision! I will make sure to get a universal cartridge converter model and am definitely going to be purchasing from you in the near future. I might get the O-ring version for the best ink stoppage IF it should have some ink after the bustle on the floor. Thank you again, and much appreciation for the elaboration!

    They look very pretty but I'm worried there may be a scratch when I post the cap. If the pen is painted or has color, it will be even more noticeable.

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ... is not that bad, its not scratches but better said it leaves a mark or a circle :D I the pen is painted I think ben makes some inner caps to prevent that and slightly alternate the shape and the size to fit that inner cap but we only have the normal standard versions and not those exotic painted ones :D

    Hi Emy, I have the stainless Steel one in medium and its probably one of the smoothest nibs I have ever used and its a great pen. In reply to some of the other comments about it getting scratched I will say that it does get a bit but its designed to be robust and thrown into a pocket or bag so its part of its character and its not a pen for a pen case on display.

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good to know! these nibs tend to be wet and smooth and I love them in all their simplicity :D they just work ... and they work well :D Yes the pen is intended to be used different to other pens that usually are desk pieces, this is why some people just forget to switch their paradigm towards them

    I love pocket pens, and my absolute faveroute is the Kaweco brass sport. I love brass pens in general but they are just not practical weight wise in anything bigger that a pocket pen. This was great to watch. I was eyeing Gravitas pens for a while now, but never pulled the trigger on it because metal pens aren't really my thing (except for brass and copper) and I have the ultem pen from Schon dsgn with the monoc nib that I like. But I think I'll go for Gravitas after seeing it up close through your videos. The ultem one was on my mind because I realised it was a vac fill (love a vac fill) in one of your videos. But I'll go for that brass one first I think. And maybe the copper as well. I love how these metals tarnish with time and use... besides you mentioned İrish! I have a lot of love and respect for irish people 😊 İt will be great to support a business there

      @@pen.venture the pens are home in İstanbul but I’m yet again on the road so I haven’t seen them yet :( I imagine the main difference will be the grip section on the brass pocket one. Because the kaweco is brass all over. The ultem is a vac fill and comes with Pen Venture approval so I know it’s gonna be something good. Although I’ll have to say that right now the Leonardo Audace and Dodici are my go to pens at all times; basically I’m not really on a ‘pocket phase’ at the moment.. still a girl can appreciate a good FP every day :))

    Thanks for the nice overview... I have a Gravitas Pocket Dropper. Do you know if there is a way to make the metal section less slippery? The section has very nice lateral grooves preventing you fingers from slipping forward. But I find that when I'm writing with the pen my index finger and thumb slip sideways, because there no friction whatsoever to prevent that from happening.

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      :D thank you for your suport :D - i dont know how this slippery section can be improved, just because I find it not slippery at all, but this may be due to how I hold and use pens

    • @mmzeeman
      @mmzeeman 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pen.venture The ridges keep your fingers from slipping down the section. But for some weird reason my index finger and thumb keep squeezing together. Which is makes it very uncomfortable to write with the pen because you constantly have to re-adjust. The strange thing is that this only happens when I write with my right hand, when I write with my left hand, this does not happen. My guess is that it is caused because the direction of the of the spiral of the ridges on the section. I'm used to metal sections. I have a couple of stainless steel kaweco's, and some Karas pens with metal sections. So I was very surprised by this. Anyhow, I think I'm going to use a steel brush to roughen the tiny ridges a little bit.

    Pen Venture makes £130 to £2,041 per year (£0.35-£5.59 per day) on TH-cam which is better than the type of money I make.

      we all must make a living, I never put a price on my time spent in front of the camera because I couldnt justify being payed that amount per year when only the recording set up was around 20k and my time spend away from my family recording and editing ... priceless. I wish it grew to much more so we could get a person a salary and to help us record and edit our videos providing me with the time to grow the channel and observe each order leaving out the door + get home in time to spend a few hours with the girls before they go to bed :D

    Ehh. Its not worth it to buy a pen from Gravitas. They will talk to you consistently and then ghost you for 3 months until your order randomly shows up one day potentially. Or maybe not. Dont recommend buying anything from Gravitas or Ben the owner.

      Well that is really sad and unfortunately I‘ve heard and read this complaint about how Ben runs his shop and his customer service many times. It is very nice when a young man starts his own business and has success with real good designs and quality products. But every business man has to realize that there will be customers that feed them and they deserve to be treated fair and respectful. I‘m very sorry that Ben obviously can’t deliver that. I‘m glad that Emy helps getting these great Gravitas pens in our hands.

      Its called Proper Management of your business. Ghosting a customer for months mere hours after purchasing an item isnt a struggle, its bad business. Also Ben lacks transparency and you can defend all you want, but his bad reputation is already known amongst the fountain pen community.@@pen.venture

    👎Gravitas, never again!!! I placed an order on 01-20-2024 and it has not arrived and does not respond to emails. When I make a claim on PayPal, it sends a tracking number from 21 days ago.
