Congrats on getting Herbin inks. Poussière de lune is one of my absolute favorite inks; glad to see it made your list. Virt empire was my go to green ink until it recently got attacked by mold. I hadn't realized it was made for Napoleon. Interesting story. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks so much! We've just finished racking a new order restocking for most of the items and as soon as they'll be here - I will just pop one of those wax seal ones 350 anniversary. Mold is a problem with inks in general - I had bottles used for many years more than 5 without getting any mold, but we had cases in our location where in 2 or 3 weeks after open - it developed mold.
Warmest congratulations on this fine ink venture! I have the Jacques Herbin Gris d'Houle, which I find to be an ink in which I have the greatest confidence for a clean line and nice shading.

Very nice video Emy. I've been using Herbin inks for years but I don't think I ever heard the story behind the brand before. I just knew it was the oldest ink brand still up 'n running
I like these inks because of how easy they are: well behaving inks and easy to clean out. Even the shimmer line is well behaved. 1670 and the 1798 inks are some of the rare shimmery inks that I'll use in any of my pens (just because I really dislike and as such can't be bothered to clean pens with shimmer or sheen; especially if it's a piston or vac that I can't disassemble 😵💫)..
Btw I am quite specific about my browns, but the 1670 Caroube de Chypre ink is my brown with pizzaz go to if I want some shimmery sheeny goodness 😊
hey there my dear :D to be honest ... im ashamed even to admit that I thought herbin inks was like 3 separate brands :)) - one with the square shimmery sheen inks, one with the 30 ml glass bottle stuff and one with the fill up yourself in a physical location ink bottle :D ... did some research and was like WOW - we should get these. We've just got the shimmery inks and a few more, but despite those ... I set my eyes on a big juicy Cafe de Iles bottle :)) - I might just tell to our inventory person : "hmmm I think this is a leaking bottle - we should set it aside" (while ill make a plan to set it together with my other inks :)) )
@@pen.venture You know I've never tried Cafe des İles from Herbin. As I said I'm quite picky about my browns.. but I do trust your jugment and taste, so I will try that one next time I order something. And we cannot all know everything there is to know about every brand 🙃 I used the inks but I just learned its history through your video. I was wondering why they had an old sailing ship in some of their none ink products 😄.. and Herbin is not always on the frontline for some reason. Many other brands are much louder with their products and collabs. So it's easy not to pay attention to Herbin
Hi Emy, as usual such an interesting presentation, enjoyed hearing a more in depth history of this wonderful ink. I have a few in my collection but now, thanks Emy i am curious to try more:) So gratifying to nor only enjoy the qualities of the ink but also enjoy being a part of history. Absolutely love the new bottle presentation, looks like a bottle of medicine from an apothecary/alchemist..with the wax seal, practical and also paying homage to the wax seal history which until now was unaware. :D hey hey :D Yes - I had that 1670 E de chivor ink for a looooong time, many years - but even I didnt knew the history, until recently one of our distributors started talking to me and we got into an argument, me saying Diamine is the oldest ink brand and he was like... nahhh Emy, let me tell you about Herbin inks. This is how I came to know the history and It was so interesting that I said ... we have to get them and everyone must know about these. Thank you 💙😀 the prices I’ve mentioned don’t include vat because that is going to be calculated according to the country in EU where they are heading with the specific vat rate from there. It’s been a quite weekend can’t complain 😁 wish you all the best and maybe we can catch up soon at the DPS if you’re going to be around
