My Uncle was Dave Dudley. It is really cool to see these guys play this at the Opry in 2020 - Uncle Dave played it at the Opry in 1966 :-) Still goin' strong! Well done.
Quite honestly, Marty is truly a great guitarist, played Mandolin for years in his youth....dont miss a opportunity to see him, he is getting up there in years also...what a gem....
I never thought I could listen to that GREAT song performed by ANYONE other then the GREAT Dave Dudley. Marty Stuart just surprised the hell out of me. That was excellent.
The GREAT, Dave Dudley, played San Antonio, when "6 Days" was on the charts. Before a live on air interview, the D.J. asked him if he could drive a rig. Down to earth and humble Dave replied "Nah, I can barely drive a car". A cool guy-
When I listen to Dudley doing this I think of Junior Brown (not sure if he did a cover but I'm sure it'd be good) First time I heard Six Days was from an album I think my bro owned - Taj Mahal - this version I believe: th-cam.com/video/wHbGhEfnh2E/w-d-xo.html
Very nice, I have always admired Marty Stuart, he is a great musician and so knowledgeable and respectful to country music and its roots. Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed it immensely!
This Guy Is So Talented,,,, Love This Rendition,,, So Meaningful,,, You Never Had To Touch a "Road Ranger" To Understand The Meaning,,,, "If You Think I'm Happy,,, Your Right "....
I'm *still* reeling from seeing Marty & his kick ass band last year ( *15* *April* *2022* ) at the La Mirada Theatre. I hope that they make their way out to the Los Angeles or San Diego area *SOON* ! Fun version of this classic !
Me and a friend hitchhiked out of NYC and got a ride from a trucker that had been taking little white pills for quite a few days. He was raving mad,... Sliding around long sweepers. And then a tire blew out...... Sounded like dynamite........ Our heads almost hit the roof we jumped so high. So he pulled over. We got out. Stuck out our thumbs and caught another ride.
It really just occurred to me after listening to this particular version of a timeless treasure as this example at least 100 times then 3 boys should only do this again in a outside venue because I really can’t believe the building did not burn straight to the ground straight up I ain’t even lying this time . Marty at the end you replied that’s all I got well brother that’s all you good ole boys need you men owned that!
I saw Marty and the superlatives on Oct 6 2023 in Mt pleasant tx. 3rd time, and they never disappoint. Top shelf first class. I will pay to see them any time they are in driving distance!
❤😂. I'm alive in Jolie House now in Martin Tennessee here they don't let me Natasha Ann Powers use my smart phone to share your videos everyday again. Love you all.
Marty is absolutely the MAN. Wish I could see him down here in FLorida. Keeps getting cancelled in St Augustine. Come to Weirsdale Marty. I have Ricky and Rhonda on my Mandolin. But I need the Greatest. @MartyStuart
This cover. Amazing. One part in particular that stands out (for me) was Vince Gill. I loved how he only sang a part of the chorus ("...on the road, and I'm going to make it home..."). This small part that Vince sang gave the song a little more charm (not that it needed it). Also, that guitar solo by Marty Stuart and Brad Paisley (especially Marty) was a thing of beauty.

God Bless your uncle Dave Dudley. May he RIP.
The only thing about the pandemic that was good, the ability to see performances like this.
Quite honestly, Marty is truly a great guitarist, played Mandolin for years in his youth....dont miss a opportunity to see him, he is getting up there in years also...what a gem....
All three on that stage can play just about anything with strings. If Charlie Worsham was on stage too that would have been perfect.
Marty is a treasure!
@@aaronz9410 Steve Wariner would be great too.
Have seen marty and the superlatives twice worth the ticket, if they come close again I will see them again. Super and down to earth folks!
@@mickeymorris40I saw them 10/16/21 just as music was beginning to come back. Great show ~ happy fan here!❤
Marty Stuart….keeping Country Real
May God Bless Him!
Mary Stuart one of my heroes for sure. Never heard him play even a bad note or song. And he has some really good company on that stage.
If you like Mary Stuart, check out Marty Stuart, he’s awesome!!!
True that!
Marty Stuart is on Tonight! My husband and I watch when we can!
The world should have exploded with that level of string players on stage.

I never thought I could listen to that GREAT song performed by ANYONE other then the GREAT Dave Dudley.

So sad that auditorium isn't packed to the rafters. Hope it won't be long before we get back to normal.
There sure isn't anything normal about wearing masks & keeping a specific distance apart from others.
Now THAT'S country!!
Love this man !
10/4 good buddy
That's a pretty adequate group on stage.
I saw Marty when he played for Johnny Cash at a concert in New Port Richey Florida back in the early 80s. 👍
I believe his first wife was Cash's daughter.
His pretty talented wife has great 👍 voice too. He is lucky man 😊
Three string players that can also sing and write songs damn good, nothing better.
He is good on that mandolin
this is a great cover of a tune everbody knows dudley owns.....its damn good
Dudley's, but I've never heard a mandolin rock like that before and I'm a musician
I could care less about any new country artist. I only enjoy the old classic stuff like jones, cline and Dudley. These guys did a great job
Sad to see the Opry looking so empty....
I think it's a soundcheck !
This was the first of the pandemic shows
outstanding -
You know this guy is a big deal when you have Vince Gill and Brad paisley backing you.
Six....marty.. Good...
It's Steve Bannon!
LOL not even close. That is Marty Stuart.
Idk all about that !!!!
Little Marty has got grey hair?
Oh my God ,I'm getting old.
Vince Gill...
Who are these guys they could really make it
Actually I think Marty is the best musician on that stage
PICK & GRIN !
Dave Dudley is smiling down fella’s
Marty, where the hell you been??
Good but Dave Dudley owns this one!

Wonder what Happened to Marty's eye? He is so cute and such a fun guy!

"Pennsylvania Dave Brakes Down in D.C."
had no idea Brad Paisley could play so well....!
That SOB still has the hair
At least it ain't all BLACK no more!! :-)
Would two true legendary country artists take one step forward please? Ope.... Not so fast Brad.
He is a good sanger....
