Great presentation. Congrats to Marty and the Congress of Country music. Marty should run for Congress. Well spoken. Yes Marty loves country and bluegrass. He's not only in it for the money.
We went to the carlisle bluegrass festival long time ago , we went to camp , drink , meet chicks , usual stuff young punks do , we didnt know bluegrass from bluecheese , but i remember seeing a young marty stuart playing mandolin for lester flatt and scruggs , think he was about 12 years old , i was 18 , same day we saw bill monroe bedazzle the crowd and me , i learned and saw then the meaning of virtuoso on an instrument , im 70 plus today and while blues and jazz is my first love , the great bluegrass and country players are right there , esp one of my favorites , david grisman , tony rice , bela fleck , thanx for the music and the passion .
Thank you Marty! What a career and what a Collection! You have not just donated instruments but you have re-introduced Forgotten Country Superstars like Porter Wagoner and many others. Your TV Show , (please do another), brought so many older Country Stars back to the forefront. Marty is Country Music and we salute you.
Marty s band is my favorite working band still out there. He is what a country star should be. I know thar George Jones had great respect of him. He was nice to me and made me feel at home in a studio filled with famous musicians. Thanks Marty 👍🎶
This was so great. Marty Stuart is an absolute hero to me. He led me back to country music and I feel now I am home. Thank you Marty and all those who love the beauty and soul of country music. Yeah buddy! 🤠
Marty is and always has been a class act. His musicianship, compositions, and love for the rich history of country music is unmatched. From playing in Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash's bands to buying and mastering Clarence White's B-bender telecaster, he has more stories than any living musician today. As a fellow Mississippian, I am very proud of what Marty has accomplished in his career.
Marty Stuart wrote out A premonition 50 years ago, of the dreams he saw ahead of him in his life and it all came true the way it was meant to be. Through the trials & tribulations of his musical career the songs have been written and the tune of it all is here to stay as the notes will never stop but once written and been sung, the sounds of this all can never be taken back. Now like true words that have been spoken they will travel on through the universe for eternity so let us celebbrate his success!
Congratulations Marty! Thank you for making me proud to be a Mississippian and thank you for all you do for country music! Thank you Vince for all you do for country music!
Marty is one of the most kind and thoughtful persons I have ever met. Not only is he a fabulous musician, he has a wonderful sense of humor and is a great storyteller.
I met Marty in Little Rock walking down a sidewalk in front of the Court House i was paying my child support i shook his hand we had a moment of small talk extremely polite and true to heart, day i will never forget. Thank you Marty
Marty is also an honorary member of the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in South Dakota.. Him and his wife go there every year to raise money for the Tribe.. This man is a stand up gentleman!
This gave me goosebumps! Marty Stuart is a national treasure. The mainstream country/pop/rap music artist probably don't even know who Marty Stuart is and what he is all about. But to me and all the people who still love true Country/Bluegrass/Rockabilly music know what a treasure Marty Stuart is. And I thank God for people like Marty Stuart who still play the good stuff! 🎙️ 🎸 🎶
I did.nt know there was a Philadelphia in Mississippi? First time I heard of it.I know in my home state of Pennsylvania has the Philadelphia.Amazing folk.s out in Mississippi. Godbless you all.
best all around musician i have ever seen ... he deserves all the credit or it. only question i have is where was jerry douglas.... you figure something like this he would be there,,,, maybe an emergency came up. or was that him hiding behind all that beard ?????
To All: Hear me when I say, Marty is an American Treasure and a son to Country & Bluegrass music. As a musician, say what you will, there is non better. Don't dare think because he was a child prodigy that he didn't put alot of time playing and practicing. I'd wager all I own that he couldn't begin to tell how many hours he spent practicing. Put him in the country music hall of fame. Damnit what's the hold up? Hell fire!
Oh boy , if someone could do a meshup of the musical bits that would be running art mine on repeat. Happy to pay for a recording of that too! Without disrespect meant to the meaningful words spoken by all involved or its wider course.
This video I just witnessed is something we ALL can be proud of!! Please save it and refer to it often!! Many of the names mentioned in this video, have been around for decades upon decades, but as Old Man Time reaches out his arm to take one on His list Home, we ALL should be ready for that moment!! To you Mr. Marty Stuart, I feel that “The D-18 Song” had you in mind when it was first written. You take care & I don’t have to tell you take of your wife Connie Smith, because that’s already on your To Do List!! See ya soon!!
what the hell was up with the band playing with Stapleton? Banjo player was in a different time zone. Almost like they pre-recorded each part and started playing them all at different times. lol
I could tell they were a little off right from the start, and they didn't do it like the original, but it happens to all musicians once in awhile lol. But Stapletons singing made up for it. I've heard my Dad and Mom do that one in church many a time as a kid in the late 70's early 80's.
Great presentation. Congrats to Marty and the Congress of Country music. Marty should run for Congress. Well spoken. Yes Marty loves country and bluegrass. He's not only in it for the money.
Loved Marty Stuart on the Ken Burns Country Music documentary series. This is a great program, what a treat.

Hillbilly rock country rockbille feel
Rolling south on I-55 ... Nothing much better..
I always read that the D45 came to Johnny Cash via Hank Williams JR, not Sr.
⛰️🎶💪🏼
❤
still pushing the "fact" that d-45 belonged to hank sr, he never owned that guitar, hank jr did, and no, he didnt inherit from his father;
Point Noted, But Enjoy yer 'background-Info.
I did, so Cheer-up Dude 🎶 🎵 🕊

One artifact I hope to NOT see in that collection on display … Clarence. I hope you play that Telecaster until God has other plans.
The music has changed to more like pop😢
