This is the first time I’ve seen a teacher demonstrate chord practice chromatically. A fantastic way of getting to not only learn them in literal terms, but to develop good proprioceptive feel of the hand shaping and wrist control as well as the ability to change between chords smoothly. As ever, outstanding quality, as is your excellent Adult Piano course based on the universally acclaimed Faber books.

I watch several TH-cam piano lessons. Your channel is #1 on my list. Whether it’s the content or your delivery , you are really really good at communicating what you are wanting us to learn. Thank you Thank you!!!

I realized watching your video that one of the few things I learned to play by ear were all the major chords up a chromatic scale. I used it as a vocal warm up when I sang. I didn’t pay attention to which chord it was just that it sounded like a major chord. I should probably pay more attention to what the chord is. Looking forward to this series as I sometimes come across chords where I just can’t figure out what it is and why it sounds good.

Oh yay! Excited for this series! I know most chords, can build any chord but they are not instant or memorized. Excited to have something to work through to better retain all of them!

Great video! I’m about 3 weeks into your course and love it!! I’ve tried a few piano teachers in the past, but your course is so well organized and fun! Way more affordable than a live teacher and way more effective. 10/10 highly recommend 😊

This is so useful. I have no words! I’m one year into my piano lessons. So far I’ve only practiced classical pieces. But I want to write my own songs and this is exactly what I needed. You are golden! Thank you!

The exercise you assigned, simply playing the chords in keyboard order, has been a revelation to me! No joke. Despite my strong dislike and disinterest in lead sheets I do understand the need in classical music for chord recognition and practice so i know the formulas & I have dozens of charts and documents separating them & ordering them this way and that but never in physical 1/2 step order. Playing them this way is the trick for me. It reminds me of finding the scales in 2 octaves shown on a keyboard diagraim, that along with playing them clumped is getting me 'there' with scales.

Thank you so much for the step by step explanation and sharing of the sheets. I have always wanted to learn chord but got intimidated by the difficulty. This is series is just what I need❤

You're welcome! If you begin to feel intimidated again, don't feel like you have to learn every single chord right away. Good luck!

Oh snap I cant find part 3 cuz this is new! Awesome thanks for reading my mind. Need some guidance on fingering 7th chords, just got philip degregg harmony book but feel a little hesitant to rep 4 note left hand chords without a good plan for what fingers to use. Looks like it is situational and I should probably just do what feels right but its nice to be told haha.
Hopping on your patreon this weekend, excited for more practice material now that I am wrapping up adventures book 1. Thanks for the great content!!

Awesome! I hope this will be able to help you out! Just FYI, while my patreon page is still there and you can become a member (and I would be grateful!), it's really just a "tipping" service. There are no extra perks since I began the Piano Roadmap Membership (www.PianoRoadmap.com).
