    Piano roadmap with another concise and useful video! Different articulation is definitely an engaging idea. Re sight reading, I love the x3 idea (more data gathered on return always useful for mini aha moments). Your channel is growing and it’s well deserved. Thanks ❤

      Thank you! 100% on the sight reading x3. I learned this when having to sight read for vocal studios. The voice professor would thankfully stop them mid-song to address something, and I would get 15 seconds to adjust and adapt.

    Thank you for this. I believe the ability to take in a piece as a whole is essential for full enjoyment. For example, when playing something by Bach, such as a two part invention, or for more advanced players a fugue, it is so easy to miss out on the significance of the repeat of the melody when it is played by the left hand. One plays it as demanded by the score, but almost as an inconsequential afterthought rather than an important part of the whole in its own right.

      Absolutely! It's about keeping your mind in the game. I like to photocopy my Bach scores & highlight different voices so I KNOW when certain melodies come back.

    Another great idea 💡 in the “why didn’t I think of that” category from my favorite piano teacher! 😎

    Yours that very valued line:" let go of your pride" that's really what I seen how people bec of that kind of pride they lose lot of things in the life. Definitely with improvising start all music. No one born with music knowledge and at the same time God gived music in their self to discover it. God bless you and all who read!

    Merci beaucoup. Scale variations is a great idea. I also practice a stride bass while doing scales.

    Thank you! I’m most intrigued by the voicing idea. I’m having trouble doing that in pieces, and the simplistic, five-finger scale practices to learn how to voice are super boring and don’t seem to translate to actual music in my experience. I have the music for that piece too, and several others by other composers.

    What’s your take on Czerny and Hanon? Waste of time or not?

    • @PianoRoadmap
      @PianoRoadmap  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I like them both, but I find pianists often begin practicing them WAY too early on their piano journey and they focus too much and long on them. I like them one exercise at a time, in small doses. But taking Hanon No. 1 and making a goal to play them all in 3 months (for example) is a waste of time and perhaps asking for some kind of pain/injury.
