Actually, if you read the Mega-Man comic, there's a reason why Mega-Man never kept the weapons he gained. It was due to the fact that the more weapons he gained, the more reckless and violent he became. Therefore, after each mission, he purges himself of all extra weapons as a safety measure.
Overall, this was a watchable show. I would like to see you do Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot.
As a kid, I used to love Roll. After watching this review, I'm starting to remember why I liked her back then.

It always just cracked me up that the Megaman X episode has X outright tell Dr.Light that he was built by him, and basically summarize everything that happens in the X games when the whole reason there's a war in the future is because the reploids were created off X's design but without the 30 years of ethical testing simulations. Basically, if Dr.Light decided to never build X in the first place, the war would never have happened. X even tells him Dr.Cain found him. If Dr.Light had left specific notes with X warning of those future events then X still could have been built and the war prevented. But no, Dr.Light apparently decides the war has to happen and is comfortable with that.
So... What if Dr. Light decided not to believe X's story? Or what if he decided to do the opposite of creating him? Then what? Not only would X cease to exist, but none of the Mavericks and Reploids would exist either. So X pretty much doomed himself and his kind to being erased from existence.
That's not how it happened, dude. First, these events happened LONG after Dr. Light was dead and he was quite caught up with designing X, so he didn't have a lot of time for thinking about what may happen in the future. You're right that after Dr. Cain found X, he created Reploids based on his mechanics. However, after the Reploids were created, they didn't immediately go crazy; rather, they were a massive help to humanity to the point where humanity relied on them heavily; when they did go Maverick, it was a few isolated incidents. After those isolated incidents, the Maverick Hunters were created specifically to fight back against the Mavericks that were beginning to crop up; the other alternative was stopping the production of Reploids, which would have been detrimental to society by that point. Furthermore, the war didn't start because Dr. Light had something to do with it. What actually happened was that Zero, a creation of Dr. Wily's, was dug up and attacked a crew of Maverick Hunters, causing them to call in Sigma, who punched Zero in the blue gem on his forehead when he and Zero got into a fight. After defeating Zero, Sigma brought him back to Maverick Hunter HQ to be studied and helped him become a Maverick Hunter after the studies were finished, further spreading the Maverick Virus after the fight. Finally, due to his longtime infection, Sigma began to believe that Reploids were superior to humans and that they deserved to rule over humanity and the Earth. Therefore, none of the war was Dr. Light's fault and couldn't have been prevented since it involved factors that he could never have known about since he's not a telepath.
Air Man got sick, so his friend Sigma filled in for him.

Thing about how Megaman X was in that episode he was nothing like he is in his games. They made him trigger happy meathead when in games he is pacifist and he only fights because he has to.
In Maverick Hunter X, that was mostly the case. However, X wasn't shown speaking very much in MMX1, and we didn't see his pacifistic nature until the end credits.

I faintly remember watching the Mega Man cartoon when I was a kid, and it was probably the very first video game cartoon I ever saw along with the weird Donkey Kong Country cartoon. Of course, when it comes to Mega Man in animation, I remember NT Warrior more fondly.
I always see people shit on this show but I actually liked it growing up.
7:10 and 8:10 are funny let alone gutsman's ass meme. Then of course Mega x episode was epic.

@DocDelray Kung fu cut man, blast to the past with a bombed car 🤣 so many moments lol and yes X tech was great. Or absent minded Dr light pondering why someone would bar the outside of the bathroom door, to dissolve megaman 🤣 and of course the German opening. The game, Berserk boy paid homage to the end of the regular one too, so there are fans.

Umm basically ever robot created is done by Light or willy so if old rockman (who is product of both doctors) wants to get laid it's Game of thrones style or nothing so the whole roll thing doesn't bother me
He's talking about the battle network anime where their netnavis created by different scientist plus they never went in-depth with where 95% of the navis were created from so I really take no issue with this Mega Man and Roll falling in love.

There was an X crossover and spinoff planned with Dreamwave, but the guy behind the company was horrible at it and it folded before they got a chance.
I feel special to know about Weaseletta and Terror Teddy. Great video! I still have a bunch of action figures from this show (Still have Snakeman sitting on my bookcase). When it started airing in the early morning, I saw the X episode and it blew my mind. I really wanted a spinoff of that.
Imagine if that won that Nintendo Power "Design a Robot master" contest!
I prefer Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Roll because she represents the classic Megaman series in that game

It says a lot when the DVD case has more personality than some more "subjectively speaking" popular shows. Like you said this show was a mixed bag but the team did try to stick to the games as close as possible with the designs. Compared to Captain N, Ruby Spears was on top of it. Toy sales, the bane of children's television. Seriously I understand shows have to make money but dang when that seems to be the recurring factor for shows getting cancelled. At least we have crowdfunding now. Thanks for your review and looking forward to the next one.
Have some vague memories of this show, all positive. Remember Snake Man and Pharaoh man being awesome. Wish we would continue to receive more mega man games, looking forward in picking up the new Mega Man Jada toys line.

There are voice credits for Plant Man, and I am pretty sure it was confirmed they started season 3 before the show was cancelled, so I think MM6 robot masters would have been in it had it continued. If it continued long enough I could even see Bass replacing Protoman as the bad guy rival.

Vile's voice in the Mega Man X episode was so awesome! Yep, MM8 & MMX4 had laughable English voice acting. XD BTW, I saw a Cut Man action figure at KB Toys once when I was a kid. Come to think of it, it must've been the cartoon-based one.
Loved the show when it aired back in the Day, thanks for the episode about it :) However I find it kinda sad you didn't talk about the german theme Song of the show which is, in my opinion, far better than the english original :)

I have the original release from the same group that released the OVA (after the series but they have a similar cover), but they released seasonal sets rather than a complete series set.

Centaur man for me is one of those robot masters where I don’t hate him but don’t like him either I like the design it’s very unique but also a lil silly.
And a new show around the corner, too.
I remember watching mega man when I was a kid and it's still excellent. 😀👍🎮
I will be honest; this is a show I have mixed feelings for. Like a lot of other video game based cartoons, it was kind of a mixed bag. But to its credit, it had some great material. And there are some episodes that I actually loved and enjoyed. And back when this show was first airing, I had high hopes for it. For me though, season 1 was the highlight of the show. But everything went down hill with season 2. And I'm aware that there was supposed to be a third season. But only one episode was made for it, and that's where it all ended sadly. At the end of the day, I feel this show had potential, and I felt it was wasted.

Mega Man was the proto-DBZ. Ian James Corlett voiced Goku and Scott McNeil voiced Piccolo.
DBZ is older than you might realize since it did start airing in Japan back in 1989. Sure it was dubbed and aired in English later on but still DBZ i older than this cartoon.

Ruled by the Ninja Turtles and Marvel? You're forgetting that Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was taking kids by storm. The year that the Mega Man cartoon began airing was when Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was in its second season, during the first year on the market Power Rangers made over $1 billion in toy sales, you couldn't find them anywhere in stores, and when you did find them, you had to wait in line to get them. Not only that but it caused massive rioting with people literally going at each other in Mortal Kombat just to get Power Rangers merchandise.
