I used to go on this train around christmas time, when we stayed near Aviemore in the winter, as a child. Santa used to visit us on the train. Such fond memories.
This reminds me of the steam train rides in Pennsylvania with my mom and dad when I lived with them.

Oh, that video a few back when you popped to Kingston...The Kingston Flyer steamtrain is running again now. It doesn't go very far but so lovely hearing it run again, I'm waiting for an excuse to go on it [I'm off to Hogwarts moment] as tickets are tad pricey as all done by local volunteers
Steam Trains are so amazing, we have no idea how incredible and iconic they are, I'm so jealous, and through the Scottish Countryside, no less! I'm so happy you had a wonderful time, the little one seemed quite at peace

The British kept a lot of steam engines in storage quite late. They reasoned that in the event of nuclear war steam trains would be the only thing they would be able to keep going.
My dad was a massive steam train enthusiast, I spent my childhood ridding steam trains in different parts of Europe and it was always a memorable experience. I'm happy to see people are still passionate about them 🙂

Aww well that was fun! I used to operate a train at a theme park. It was a diesel engine but other than that it worked just like a steam train. All the levers and things and having to signal just the way any other train would have to with the whistles and the bell and all that jazz. It was loads of fun to operate but it was a lot of work. I would also be the person to load/unload and count the passengers.
hehe Mr. Owl being a good dad and letting her little girl taste a treat she probably shouldn't have had. And get a little messy. dads will tend to let their kids get a little hurt or messy if it means a good time
I think a train would be a great place to take a nap. I find them soothing. 😴

I've still got my granddads steam train book we always looked through when I was little. I definitely blame him for my fascination with steam trains. There's a small engine around the corner from my house at the old train station(the station is now a cafe and a little art shop) the engine is all locked behind a fence to try and stop vandals so we can't touch it anymore. It's so small and cute though. So if you are ever up in Helensville for some odd reason, go have a look.

I had to look in my hand and back at the screen to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. I was like “that’s my rose drink” lol Your train ride looks like so much fun! One of my favorite childhood memories is a train ride, it’s just so magical when your a kid ❤

Cool video steam trains are always awesome but I've never had the chance to ride one and that part where Severine with the marshmellow was funny.
Such beautiful landscapes. We did an old steam engine in New Mexico, the windows were all open and the embers would burn your arms-it was great!
