Well Kulas, it’s been a pleasure living vicariously through your blog’s when your residents was beachfront Mindanao. I was captured by the content you posted since the province was more of me than the big congested, crowded and polluted city life which Manila is. I’ve been there a couple of times and never again would I visit.
I thank you for being an ambassador to Mindanao and the rest of the Philippines and good luck.

Pasig was the capital of Rizal Province prior to the creation of Metro Manila. Hence the Kapitolyo district because thats where the old capitol was. Antipolo is now the new capital of Rizal.

The Diocese of Pasig was created in 2003 after the Archdiocese of Manila was decentralized. So the new dioceses were Kalookan for CaMaNaVa, Novaliches for North QC, Cubao for South QC, and Paranaque for Paranaque, Muntinlupa and Las Pinas. The rest of the cities (and Pateros) of the NCR are still under the Archdiocese of Manila except Marikina which is under the Diocese of Antipolo. The Archdiocese of Manila remains the Metropolitan of these new dioceses.

Enjoyed your vlog Kulas. I was born in CDO and grew up in Pateros, and it is really nice to see both of my hometowns featured in your vlogs. Dude you should try kalderetang itik and fried itik next time. It's also one of the famous foods in Pateros. And on every SECOND SUNDAY of February, we celebrate our town Fiesta. You should visit Pateros around that time. Hope that helps. Amping and more power!

BGC was an old Philippine/American army base pre world war 2. When the japanese invaded in 1941, the American and Filipino forces retreated south (those who didn't make it to Bataan) My mother's family is one of the oldest families in Pateros. During the allied retreat they could see the shells flying overhead as the japanese advanced and eventually captured Pateros. When "dugout doug" (Gen McArthur was given this nickname by his troops) returned to the take back the Philippines, it was the Japanese's turn to retreat, this time to the north. Again, my mom and her family saw the shells fired by the American forces.
When I went to school at Pateros Catholic school in the 1960's there were still bullet holes on the outside of the church walls. Some of the original spanish-era buildings had 4 foot thick walls.

the cemetery you are pointing is an icon to the Philippines and USA history, this is The Manila American Cemetery and Memorial is a military cemetery located in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
The cemetery, 152 acres or 620,000 square meters in area, is located on a prominent plateau, visible at a distance from the east, south and west.[1] With a total of 17,206 graves, it has the largest number of graves of any cemetery for U.S. personnel killed during World War II and holds war dead from the Philippines and other allied nations.[1] Many of the personnel whose remains are interred or represented were killed in New Guinea, or during the 1941-42 Battle of the Philippines or the Allied recapture of the islands.[1] The headstones are made of marble which are aligned in eleven plots forming a generally circular pattern, set among a wide variety of tropical trees and shrubbery.[1] The Memorial is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission
