Thank you, Kulas, for featuring Pateros, where I was born and raised, now living in the Bay Area, CA. I was so excited to see our barangay, Tabacalera, and even caught a glimpse of our house. Growing up in Pateros felt like living in the province while actually being in the metro-how cool is that! Seeing your video makes me want to go on vacation!!
Born and raised in Pateros. Thanks for visiting our small town. The LUXURY of HAVING a SMALL TOWN is that everything is near. The Market, the Church, the Restaurants, etc.
I am a Filipino Canadian raised and living in Toronto and was born in Pateros...... A little bit of history. Some of the early settlers of Pateros were Chinese who raised ducks and introduced balut. When the Spaniards arrived, they asked the local Chinese the name of the area. The Chinese thought they are asking about the ducks. So they responded by saying Pato for ducks. Thank you Kulas for showcasing my home town, Pateros.
I was born in Mandaluyong, raised in Pateros and went to Catholic school in Pasig. Now, living in Houston. I followed your vlog almost from the beginning. I’m so happy that you visited the places I used to live. I felt like I’m walking with you reminiscing my childhood. Thank you visiting Pateros - balut , itlog na maalat, abnoy, alfombra tsilenas (the best, you should buy one. There used to be a bake shop where they make good otap. Enjoy abnoy, my elders forced us to eat that when we were young. Thank for visiting my hometown, so many fond memories back in the 70s.
It is cool that from Mindanao you are now in the localities where I was born, grew up and went to HS! BGC was the old Fort Bonifacio military camp where I/had my CAT (Citizen Army Training) drill and formation! It’s amazing how they transformed that area into a lovely place for shopping, dining, living and socializing, as now called BGC! It is, however, sad that the beautiful place they built is surrounded by poor neighbohood of low or no- income families, that soon as you come out of the area, poverty will immediately flash your face, it is funny in a way how it, it’s show off, but then for me, it is sad….
From the high rises and trendy cafes of the business district down to its alleys and what not streets…your interaction with locals is EPIC! Nobody does it best but ONLY you Kulas! Power On!
Kulas, you are such a blessing to the Philippines! Not being dramatic but I find it so emotional when you are showcasing the Philippines.Thank you for being so kind and for touching The hearts of Filipinos ❤ hands down to you Kulas 🎉Power on ❤💯🙏🙏🙏

Thanks Kulas! I'm now craving for Itlog na mabaho! (Itlog na Abnoy) If you want to know how inutak, halaya, bibinka are made, look for Lina and Chona Marcelino in NP Cruz St. Brgy Ususan near St. Ignatius de Loyola church. They are the best! Recipe's from older generations of the Marcelino's ORIGINAL SINCE 1960's. They're few minutes away from where you saw the Alfombra display. You can see their telephone number displayed if you use google maps person view. Lina's inutak and kakanin.
Kulas - When I was a kid in the 70s, I used to sneak out of my siesta to watch Karate movies in Pateros. I remember the church but everything else looks different. Man, I’ve gotten old.

Truly you are a wonderful person you adopt very well to anything you encounter and the surroundings. I’m always looking forward to your new videos, thank you very much
Pateros is known for its itlog maalat & balot. When I was a kid back in the 1980s 90s my batangueno father would always bring back maalat when he visits Manila to our home in Cebu. 😊

Oh No! Rotten eggs! Hope you don't sick.
Some of their cultures are similar to Laguna , like "bibinkang (bugok)itlog" and sandals making.
Interesting name “alfombra” for cloth slippers. Alfombra means “carpet” in Spanish.
The town of Pateroz is known for balut, ducks hatcheries and shoes.
Oops I spelled pateros wrong sorry about that.
