found this video while doing research into logistics for a class i'm taking, i wasn't entirely sure if shipping containers from boats or trucks would be able to be seamlessly transferred to trains without the need to unload and reload into a new container. this video pretty easily answered my question, and i have a new found appreciation for the simplicity and versatility of the classic metal box.

That was different! I've always wondered how those containers got on the trains. Now I've seen an insiders perspective! Cheers Steve, hope you are well mate and enjoying the weather!

I wondered about that too. I've seen those big yellow cranes before, but I never knew what they were for.

I've always wondered how on Earth they keep track of which container is going where. The trains seem so random as they go by. There must be some sort of complex system to figure it all out.

Seen it from the railway point a view a few times, but not from the lorry - very interesting. They always push the speed of rail service, but never mention the lorry driver hanging about. You didn't mention what size container you had, or why you had to turn it. Could it be H&S - try to prevent doors flying open on trains?
