Hi mam lyqa Thanks a lot for always there teaching us anything that could improve our career. God bless u always and wish u a good Heath more vedios pa po.
Hello there, Teacher Lyqa. I didn't take the LAE. Nonetheless, I want to share my experiences as a once law student who passed the Bar exams on a single occasion many moons ago hoping it may somehow be of help here to successful law entrance takers (UP or otherwise) or aspiring lawyers. Currently, I still practice law, but on the side. I now mainly practice as a psychologist (public/private) while also teaching psychology to college and post-grad students. I took up the law entrance test at another top law school and eventually passed it, but, in the end, I decided to attend the same university (included in the top universities/law schools) wherein I graduated from college and later on pursued my post-graduate degrees in behavioral sciences. Speaking of LAE, once you passed this formidable exam, it's already understood as nested that you've got what it takes to be a lawyer. Needless to say, wit is nothing if you won't accompany it with hard work and dedication. While studying law, we had several classmates who graduated from UP-Diliman. Some of them even graduated with honors. Yet, they failed the LAE. One of them became my close friend. We were bemusingly offended at first after they admitted to us that our alma mater was only their second or third choice. Kidding aside, I didn't really want to be a lawyer. Medicine was my first career choice because I wanted to become a psychiatrist. But to please my parents, I went ahead and pursued law studies instead. I come from a family of lawyers. In fact, my original college course was pharmacy, then I shifted to psychology---and finally, political science. Consequently, I experienced extreme difficulty in my law studies since it was not in my heart. Therefore, it is highly essential that you are passionate about your chosen field of study. To remedy the situation, I studied really really hard to compensate for my lacking or deficiencies. Time management is also highly essential due to the voluminous court cases and book chapters you're assigned to read daily. Recitation is daily and your final grade depends much on it in addition to the exams. Some professors are strict, some are not; some professors are excellent in teaching, some are lazy or always absent despite having Ivy League credentials and/or top placements in the Bar; and some professors speak kindly or in a refined way while some are potty-mouthed or quite vulgar---thus, it is up to you to adjust. Never disrespect the professors because they have this so-called unspoken privilege due to their stature or prestige as a law professor. There are some who will fail you without qualms if they feel insulted or if you questioned their methods. Treat your daily law classes as if they were already review classes for in this way you won't cram or feel tensed while you're in your fourth year and/or while you're reviewing for the Bar. And lastly, don't ever lose hope in case you fail a subject or some subjects and/or in case you fail the Bar for the first or second time. If you're truly passionate about being a lawyer and if you've truly given your best shot, everything will fall into place, promise. All the best to LAE takers or aspiring law students/lawyers.

Now, I know I am decided to take up law and I found your channel specifically this video so helpful for my future career. I am currently grade 12 student and am planning to get into UP law some time in the near future. Math is not my number 1 strength though I perform good in math but I thank you for talking about it candidly so making me so sure that I have to take up math lessons in my under grad to prepare for my dream school. Thank you so much, ma'am , for this opportunity to really grip a hope from somebody else even if we are not in connection physically but you are helping me to find out about my dream. I promise that once I get in there, and become a great lawyer like I am aspiring to be, I will notify you as much as I can. Thanks for helping us future lawyers.
I passed the civil service exam last March 2023, by the help of your video contents, and now I am here, watching your video all over again and hoping to also pass the up coming Law School Admission Test. I am thankful that you continue to inspire "us" to dream big and build our career. You really are a brain booster Ma'am Lyka. :*
Thank you for this, Coach! im in my senior year in HS and I'd like to take the UP LAE in the future 😅 After watching this video, for some reason, I feel more motivated to pursue law in the future. hehe
Hi Ms. Lyqa. Your videos help me to become one of SM Scholar's. I just passed the CPA board exam ( results were out 2 days ago) and now I am back on watching your videos because I'm planning to enter law school. Just want to say, you hold a very special place to my success journey. TYSM. 🤗🤗✨
I am still struggling in deciding as to what to choose - MPA or Law School. I still need to ask my 7 layers of me what to choose between the two. Either way, I hope it would get me better in the future.
LOL yes Miss Lyqa ganyan na ganyan nga ang feeling after mo mag-take ng UPLAE. Tahimik kasi hindi makapagyabang lols. Everyone went on walking out of the campus na lang. One Dad asked me after I got out of the building (medj nagulat ako non haha) how was it, "Difficult. Time is your enemy, Sir" he chuckled and patted my shoulder. That was years ago but I didn't continue law school because I decided to teach din. Planning on doing it again soon, though!
Thank you for the tips ma'am, to become a lawyer it will depends of individual who are willing to pursue your dream, just follow your dream and go for it, if you want to succeed you need to sacrifice for being a lawyer it is just a matter of hard work, diligence and tenacity the most important is the prayer without God, we are nothing in this beautiful world that God gives us, for topping the bar exam its just only a bonus to the Lord who gives us the courage and strength to pursue our dream to become a lawyer
Thank u po for the tips. I have a question po. Paano po pag hindi kataasan ang grades during undergrad? May chance pa rin po ba na makapasok sa UP law? And ano po ang accepted na udergrad grades?
I had low grades in undergrad. When I got interviewed, the Attorneys took note of my GPA "Really? That's low". (I also heard of someone with a 2.90+ GPA) I passed. Forget about the grades in undergrad. Lots of laudes don't get in. I believe in myself although I admire honor students. Pride is important especially when you're surrounded by Magnas and Summas. The LAE is strictly based on merit. That's all you need to know. Do well on the exam and you'll get in.
naeexpire po ba ang units na tinake ? like what if naka 1 year lang ako, because of certain circumstances, di ko natuloy for 3 years, need ba i retake mga yon? ilang years required bago ulitin lahat?
I am a sophomore student in college. Recently, I've been considering the idea of becoming a lawyer. However, I failed one of my major subjects last year and took summer classes for it. If I avoid flunking another subject and get high grades in my remaining years in college, would it still be possible for me to get accepted in law school? Not necessarily in UP.

Hi, Lyka. My question is about law school. In answering questions, especially for purposes of the bar, we've always been reminded to put our legal basis for our answers. But to now I'm still uncertain as to what this means. Does it mean we have to cite the particular provision of the law or the title of the case decided by the supreme court? If not really necessarily, do you know if citing the particular law or jurisprudence would help you get higher marks? Thanks.
No, lines such as "in a long line of cases decided by the SC", "under the NIRC", "it has always been ruled that", "the rule/maxim/principle provides that" would suffice

Sa isang university dito sa Bicol, kailangan 2.4 Ang GWA sa TOR. I don't know if sa ibang law school ganun din. Much better, you aim higher than 2.4.
