  • In this video I walk you step by step on how to install your Die cast running boards from honda part # 08L33-T6Z-100. These are extremely well made and robust. One of the best running boards I have seen from any manufacture. I also go over the pros and cons of the losses in clearance and what you could expect for daily use.

    Our 2021 RL came with the utility package - had the running boards and roof rack crossbars. I think it was a $1,400 option for both.
    After living with them (running boards) for a week, I removed them. They scrubbed your heels and made in/out a PITA. They look good and are really sturdy, but for us they were no use and we like it better without.
    The roof crossbars create a lot of wind noise and aren’t easy to remove. I wrapped the first crossbar with paracord and the wind noise went away. Easiest fix ever.

    Thanks for the video. Just used this as a guide on how to UNinstall the step rails that came on my 2022 Ridgeline. Not short enough to need them and they didn't do much besides scrape the back of my leg getting into the truck.

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to scrape my leg too. But two days later my body learned not to do that again. Lol

    Just traded my Silverado for a 24 Ridgeline RTL. The Transmission on the Chevy died with only 99k miles on it. I've only had the RL for a week but I'm really liking the change. I like those side door trim bumpers. I may add them to my truck. Its a nice look...

    pretty good video. first of all, do NOT buy pre assembled. you need all 6 brackets loose. I am a 62 year old overweight man with a right leg amputation. I installed both side in less than an hour. this is not easy but simple. unless you have a older 2 wheel drive model you don't need to drive it up on front wheel ramps. there is plenty of ground clearance. all you need to do is cut back each factory scored cut out 1/2 inch on each side and snap them off (6). you will need a 3/8 inch ratchet. 3/8 × 3 extension and a 1/2 shallow socket. utility knife as well. torque wrench set to 20 lbs. is optional. looks great.

    Something to think about: I have a quickjack 5000 lift, in my garage. I don't think these running boards would allow the use of that lift. Trust me. I would love to put them on. They look good. Keep up the great videos. I would love to see the 1.5 lift with tires and such!

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.
      Yeah. That’s a nice lift. You probably can still use the lift by putting blocks under the spots where you have access to the frame. So I would not count it out.

    Hi, great videos. I am looking to install the running boards in my 2022 Ridgeline but how can you change a flat tire , are the running boards right at the vehicle frame ? how can you lift the vehicle ?

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! The running boards are not in the way of a lift. You can get one below them to access the frame. There are two main jacking points anyways which since this is Honda OEM it’s accessible. I really love my running boards. I thought I was buying them originally for looks and possibly protection from the side but now I know it’s amazing for my kids. They use the step to get in and it’s a million bucks to see them using it and entering the truck easier.

    Yuriy ...my running boards arrive this week. Not really sure the real reason for the cutouts. The brackets look like they do not interfere with the plastic edge ...but again, I have not yet attempted the install.

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you bolt it to the frame it will butt up really tight to the plastic and cause interference. At least it “should”. Just following the Honda guide and cut out instructions. With a powerful hammer drill it will just make its own notches. 😂

  • @cameronluker2193
    @cameronluker2193 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey there. OEM install recommends removal of undercoating. I didn’t see that in your video. If you skipped that step, have you had any issues since installation?

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  ปีที่แล้ว

      Removal of what undercoating? You have to notch out a section of the plastics and remove the plugs. I don’t know of any other items that needed removal? No issues here. It’s a simple plug and plug.

    What good is it when you don’t have to step up into the truck? What this actually does is making it harder to get out. I passed on the running boards because it’s not necessary. This is for only looks. And it’s a big expensive one if you get OEM and you made your truck lower. Pass on it.

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      At first I thought similar. However I have now been using it for a while and have realized what it’s really good for. My kids use it to get in and out of the truck. Without it they have to crawl in. Now my son can just take two easy steps and get in. So for that alone it’s worth it.
