Testing Out The Original CarCapsule

Today in the OGHQ Test Lab today we have an Original CarCapsule, It differs from the CarCapsule Showcase in that you can't just drive into it. All In all it's pretty cool but I don't think this is going to work for those of us that keep there cars dialed in.

I can't believe I just watched Matt drag a heavy plastic sheet across his car. Think the showcase is definitely the one.

A couple recommendations from experience: 1. Inflate the bubble once before pulling the car in. It "Loosens" it up a bit. 2. Use an indoor type car cover on the car while in the capsule. Makes it much safer and easier to pull the plastic over. And the wrinkles never come out. 2 years in and still looks the same.

I would design a C - shaped thin bar that I can put over the middle of the car and then rest and pull the bubble over.

PPF + car cover + CarCapsule = no issues with scratching. PPF does NOT scratch - not from putting a cover on/off anyway. I have been putting my AMG away dirty, covered, for over 2 years. PFF is perfect. Any minor scratches disappear in the sun.

“Oh the humanity” special Hindenburg edition capsule it’s powered by a propeller it blows up it gives off a static charge and there’s even a German car inside🙂

I know I ‘’m late to this party, but if rolling the capsule over your clean car scratches the paint, your beef is with BMW, not with the design of the capsule. Soft paint? I’ve been using this capsule model for years on show-quality Corvettes, withour so much as a hairline scratch.

Looks like a good solution for those that don’t have a good inside storage location for winter storage. But like you definitely needs a cover prior to storing.

Not exactly OG spec, but for people looking for the protection and willing to modify this a little you could whip up a little PVC rectangular prism structure in there after the first inflation and then it would keep it off the car when you bring the car in and out.

You also want clearancing around it I think18' is fine
