    After watching your review, I decided to move forward with the car capsule; as you mentioned it is expensive but in my case I just need it for storage purposes during the winter (no in and out) so it should work for me.Thank you so much!

    So, as to your concern about scratching the car when unfolding and pulling the capsule top up and over the vehicle (the method as intended by the manufacturer, not your rope suspended, drive-in method) I was thinking that a lot of folks probably already have an existing car cover ('normal' type) already, or they coul get a cheap one.
    So, pull your car onto the base mat, cover with your 'old' car cover and then pull up the car capsule cover, zip up, etc.
    The old/cheap cover will help protect the car from scratches when installing the car capsule cover with only one person. Yes it would add another few minutes to the setup/put-away time, but worth it for many folks, maybe.

    Really enjoyed your video. I own both the Carcapsule and a Carcoon made in the UK. Check it out if you are not aware of it. It is Silver, far easier on the eyes versus the Orange / Yellow color of the Carcapsule. The Outdoor Carcoon also uses a double layered top section that adds a second layer of protection of safety for your vehicle and better airflow. The air filters are far superior and are washable. I also purchased the battery charger option for both which gets set up inside the units protecting them from the environment. The Bottom layer is heavy vinyl which sits on the ground, the top is a reflective nylon that is lightweight so it is very easy to install over the car even solo so no more scratches. Personally, I use a boat tarp on the ground for both protecting the bottom from scratching because I have a stone driveway. The only advantage the Carcapsule has is heavier top construction but that is also the pitfall of the cover as you mentioned in your video. Cost wise both will set you back financially. I'm a big fan of both and they are far better than any car cover, they do not blow off in heavy winds and protect the entire car year round. Hope this info. helps you in some small way : )

      Thanks I ordered a Carcoon from the UK for my Nissan Stagea 260rs. Which is currently stuck in the elements and I don't want to leave it that way.
      I looked at alternatives but felt the carcoon was best quality.

    My man, that car capsule was not designed to be driven into and out of. It's a longer duration storage solution, so when you want to use the car, you unzip it completely and pull the top off the car.

    • @PointShiftDrive

      Exactly. I wish their drive into models were cheaper… but this is still worth it if you want to protect your baby

    The outdoor versions are more of a pain to get in and out of. I've seen sheltered versions like carport versions that are semi supported so you can drive in and out easily.

    I'm surprised in 2024 someone hasn't engineered a system like this that is easier to get in and out of. Also a question: are the fans loud at all (for neighbours)? Great review, thank you!

    The reason why those 2fans are keeping running is because to remove humidity in the capsule. Otherwise, say hi to your friends, Corrosion and Rust.

    • @bkehlin
      @bkehlin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. They're designed to keep the cover inflated so nothing can hit your car. The fans actually push air into it, so if it's humid out, that moisture is now inside the capsule. You can buy "Damp rid" buckets that absorb moisture, and keep them inside with the car.

      Let me teach you something about physics: pressure. The air that comes in is humid expect (because the carbon filter next to both fan). That air comes in and flow out to where the zippers met at the end of the capsule (less pressure). The capsule is NOT hermetic. I am glad that I teach you something today. :)

    Hi! I just wondered how you were getting on with this 2 years down the line? I live in the UK and have purchased exactly the same model as you (18ft) but rebranded by another company. I have just taken my car out of the bubble after being in there through winter for 3 months, and everything is damp, mould inside the car, and I’ve marked and rubbed paint off the higher edges (like spoilers etc) where I have removed the cover. IMO, I just don’t think they are worth it and a car port or similar would be better, Although still out in the light etc, it has less contact with the paint and mine had condensation all over the roof. 🤷🏻‍♀️
